Hi Steve, my lad will play -
Athletic Bilbao to honour Matt Le Tissier

Interesting award in these times! Great honour that the first award goes to Matt. There is a comment in there about him not being allowed to be involved as an official to a club due to his work with SkyBet. How does that work at Stoke then with Peter Coates as chairman? -
I was another of those glory hunters whose first game that was! That line up was the mainstay of my subutteo team for many years. God bless. RIP Dave.

Just been to Rotterdam to watch Classie and Vilhena. Kindly they brought Vilhena on at half time for us to watch! Mind you we chose the worst Feyenoord performance of the season. Classie played just in front of the two centre backs, one of whom, Van Beek played well. Not Classie's best game but you can see how is passing would keep us moving, he is not as good defensively as Morgan, but then we will struggle to but anyone as good as Morgan is now. I would be happy to see Classie here. Vilhena looked lively when he came on, he tried to make things happen all the time and was happy to take defensive responsibility. Probably end up being the sort of player our idiot fans take a dislike to, but can see why we would be interested in him. Went to Eindhoven last night, Depay scored a cracking free kick. A tremendous atmosphere in town before the game and big party afterwards as PSV won the title last night. PSV played very fluid football in a very similar style to us. Watched the Stoke game on tele in a bar before the PSV game, glad we came here for our football this weekend rather than the trip to windy Stoke.

In Eindoven watching the match in a bar, then off to watch PSV win the title. Tomorrow off to Feyenoord. Come on Saints, make it a great weekend of football.
-
What, the Gary Waddock who was definitely not joining the club as a replacement for AA.
-
Sissoko and Classie together would be a great replacement for Morgan!
-
Looks like we could end up with more points than they get this season.

I spent most of 2012 in Brisbane. Their title winning team was very reminiscent of Saints in League 1. I would say that is a more likely level to compare with. That is not to say I did not enjoy it, I did, and it may be possible to find some some good players out there, but they would need to come to Europe early in their career, there are not many Rickie Lamberts out there.

Just back from the match. It looked like JWP was marking Barry today, he certainly stopped Barry getting much possession. We must have had 65% possession until the final 15 minutes when we seemed to lose our way sfter we changed the system in order to chase the game. Certainly did not deserve to lose, two saves from Howard saved them. Similar in a way to the Burnley defeat earlier in the season.

The German keeper, that will be the one who plays for Barcelona and saved the penalty against Man City. Looks like he expected Prowsey to put his shot across the goal and was wrong footed.

Saints agree personal terms with Tonny Vilhena - Unofficial

I am off to see Feyenoord play in a few weeks time, I will report back! -
My son and I will be going, not sure where we will base ourselves yet but happy to see any games not just to follow England.
-
Bit disappointed in Seager, lovely finish with his head for the first goal, superb first time finish with his right foot for the second goal, but when he had his tap in for the third he failed to finish with his left foot for a perfect hat-trick! Enjoyable game to watch last night, all the players contributed, Sinclair found lots of space between the lines and the team flow when going forward was a joy to watch. Well done boys. Looking forward to the final

Saints 1 Palace 0 - Post Match Nerve Reconstruction
positivepete replied to St Chalet's topic in The Saints
The low confidence of recent weeks shows in our passing accuracy, earlier in the season the players were taking passes in their stride, last night like most of the matches in 2015, they have been stretching to get the ball, or having to check as the ball is played slightly behind where it should be. Hopefully the break will refresh the players and they will get back their early season form. -

Though to be fair to Clyne tonight when Palace switched Gayle to track him he made it difficult, Gayle worked his socks off ensuring that he denied any space to Clyne. Scrappy win, just what we needed, our luck turned when Zaha hit the post. -

Let us not despair, we have so many quality managers on here that know all the answers that the board is bound to swoop shortly and pick one to replace Ron, that man who knows nothing.

But then Atkinsons next appointment is our game versus Palace! -
Prowsey just neatly answered the returning player question on football focus. Very impressive young man when dealing with the media.
-
He played in the no 10 role in the recent U18 cup defeat against Leicester. I posted after the game that he could be making a first team appearance within two years. Seriously good potential, looks an intelligent footballer, not surprised Arsenal would like him, he is a Wenger type player. Let us hope he stays with us.

I went back to a friends house after the game and I caught the West Ham team coach up at J3 on the M3 at a quarter past midnight. At that point the M3 was closed and they were being diverted up to the A30 so they would have got home late as well.
-
It was much the same for Chelsea against Everton last night, the difference being they got the defected goal in the last minute, the bit of luck we missed. Onwards and upwards, let us hope the break sees us come back refreshed.

This guy is twenty nine and looking for a big pay day. Two attributes that put us (rightly) out of the race.

Looking for a couple of tickets, pm me if you have two spare.
