  1. You make long sound like a world beater. Agree with Austin’s downfall by the way but you can not afford to play with a striker that scores so rarely. I’d have Austin in my side ahead of long without a second thought
  2. And they are both strikers whose primary role is to hit the back of the ****ing net. Long couldn’t hit a barn door. No contest.
  3. You think Austin and long are at the same level, really?
  4. So what bets have people placed on Saints this season? A friend of mine often bets against Saints and calls it a happiness tax. Obviously if we win /draw he has paid a happiness tax but if we lose it cushions the blow. Will Anyone be taking paying a cheeky happiness tax on relegation?
  5. Or Alfie mawson. I agree the new lad looks pretty poor at the moment but hopefully once he settles in he will come good.
  6. absolutely agree with this assessment of PEH.
  7. Armstrong and the other guy that I can’t be arsed to spell correctly looked decent. Particularly liked the fact they both drove forward with the ball rather than our typical control, turn back and slow the game down. Whilst Tadic was dec t he was tooo guilty of slowing the play down.. be interest to see for a proper game
  8. Liking the look of Armstrong already
  9. Fair comment but like I said it’s tough question. Number 3 if not mcarthy then who? Probably sums up how bang average our squad is right now. Obvs the new guys are to new to really judge. I guess we need Hughes to coach some of them into top players again.
  10. That’s tough question Bertrand McCarthy and lemina are probably the 3 players I would look to take from saints if I was managing another team in the prem (excluding the top 6)
  11. Indeed, but in this guys case they thought they were locking in a big bid 12 months down the line. The fact is as you say he was going down hill rapidly but they thought it was just a temporary loss of form. But as you say a ****ing disaster of a decision.
  12. Of course, I tried telling people Forster is on £95k per week and is clearly the reason we are struggling to shift him permanently and even on loan without stumping up most of his wages.
  13. Agree but not a chance that will happen. But **** if it did?
  14. Such a shame and I am really disappointed to lose tonight but one thing this defeat has shown me 100% is that I would have been far more upset if Saints has lost at Swansea on that Tuesday night sending us down. Walkers defending for their equaliser was woeful. Typical full back defending a cross.
  15. Ok I’ll bite. This reduced responsibility quote is your new go to comment every other post. Where are you getting this from? Who has assumed his responsibility and which specific tasks Is he no longer in charge of?
  16. I propose we change the thread title to “it’s coming home!”
  17. Bearing in mind nearly all saints fans called before he signed that this guy was not good enough, you have to ask how did we ever get to a point where we were happy to offer 19 million plus wages. Blame Read all you like and rightly so for the one but there must have been others involved. Horrendous decision
  18. Absolutely. Although I do think a decent coach / manager should be able to get him player closer to his potential and has to be worth 6 months with hughes beating him with a stick before we get rid.
  19. Happy enough with this signing if true. Obviously we need to strengthen in other areas particularly if we let let Dusan go but it’s a step in the right direction.
  20. yes x 2. Noticeable absence of the usual trolls on here?
  21. Or buy a club for circa 200 million. Sell off as many assets needed to million loan. Whatever is left is profit even if it’s a championship club.
  22. That made me laugh. Can see the physio now on his knees flannel in hand
  23. Now we absolutely know your'e on a wind up/
  24. What was he banned for?
