Shocking start. On paper a very strong team and they looked shite. Jack Steph ns shouldn't be anywhere near that team and the first signing saints should have made this summer was a CB. The game should've been like a cup final with Saints looking to undo the -4pt start in the first 2 games. We drew at Watford last season and lost this year so we're already 5 points down on last season.

Anyone who thing that this team is going up automatically is deluded. My preseason prediction was 9th or 10th. Based on what I've seen so far they'll be lucky to make the top half of the table. I don't see anything changing with Tonda on charge. He made a mockery of the club and ruined the fans dreams. Shame on anyone who thinks that was acceptable and should be forgiven.

I'm totally with you. Tonda shouldn't even be at the club. He'll be found out this season and hopefully he'll be gone by Xmas.

Finally got around to chatting to a couple of mates who support Man City. The general opinion seems to be that he's very inexperienced and that expecting him to be the goal scoring solution for a team looking to get promoted is a huge ask. Both said that they thought he'd be a useful squad player and that it'll be good for his development but they're surprised that we haven't gone looking for someone with a bit more experience.

Really disappointed that we didn't make a permanent move for Gelhardt from Leeds. He did really well at Hull last season and apparently, he's available for less than Bristol City have just paid for Ballard.

Wherever Archer goes, I predict he'll score at least 15 goals this season.

Somewhat underwhelmed by this. It doesn't really hit as a signing of intent. It certainly doesn't feel like a signing that says "we want to win this league". I genuinely hope he scores 20+ goals and is a massive success but I can't help but feel that he'll be in and out of the first team and won't be a regular starter.

Now that Charles is off to Fulham, would people welcome Prowsey back? I think he'd be more than adequate.

The one thing that's needed at this level is a proven goalscorer. It's part of the reason that Wolves signed Adam Armstrong. They knew they were going down so planned for life in The Championship by signing someone who was proven at this level. Why is it that Saints always have to do things the 'unproven' way? Yes, he might be superb, but he might also be absolutely dire. It's a massive gamble. Personally, I'd rather we went and got someone with a proven record at this level. Surely, the likes of Piroe (who can't have a future at Leeds) would be a safer bet?

If Shea is off then I'd gladly take JWP back. Good experienced player who loves the club. Can definitely do a job for a season or two and great cover at RB.

Tonda should've gone in May. All those blinkered fans willnsoon see that he's not the answer and that his cheating was the reason for the decent run of form last season. I reckon we'll be 5 games into the season with about 3 or 4 points. Other than Dobbin we've added nothing and we're about to lose Charles and probably Jander. Our defence is the same as last year and at times it looked awful. This lot ain't going up!

Based on what we've seen so far do you really believe that?

This is absolute shite. I know it's a cup game at the start of the season but you'd expect far better, as the likes of Norwich and West Ham have shown.

Our cluless board will never cease to amaze me. Another wasted opportunity.

Think I'd rather have kept Robinson. How he's gone from playing in the first team to being frozen out last season and loaned out this year is quite something. No doubt we'll sell him for peanuts only for a rival to pay £5m for him 12 months later, just like Dom Ballard.

I placed an order for the Yellow anniversary shirt and got the Home and Away shirts at the same time. Order delivered in under 2 weeks.... missing the away shirt. Their dispatch email says they shipped 3 shirts but there's only the Home shirt and Anniversary shirt in the package and no sign of it being opened at any point. I've emailed them and they don't want to know. They say they sent 3 shirts but they didn't.

The thing with a striker is that they could have a shit time at a club and then somehow, something just clicks when they get a move and they look like a different player. I have my concerns but he could turn out to be a great signing.
