Spare a thought for Sunderland, their clear route to the final was stopped by Hull. Or for City, who had their quadruple hopes crushed by Wigan. Then there's Man Utd, who surely should have done better than the Third Round? Yes, we could have done better, but it's the fact we're gutted, rather than resigned, that shows the progress we've made, rather than the stage we went out or the draw we would have had. Nothing we can do about what's happened except use it to drive us on to do better next year.

Jimmy_D replied to Glasgow_Saint's topic in The Saints
Well, that makes up for one of the games we've dominated without winning. -

I agree as well! You know this means there's no chance of this design actually being used right?

Nothing wrong with the selection, tactics or even the way we played today, just one of those days. Seems worse than it is following on from the bad performance last time out.
-
I think it basically comes down to them making themselves feel better by pretending we are.

How we've failed to beat a team that **** in four attempts will remain one of football's great mysteries.
-
They could increase ST cost and include all domestic cup matches, but also give refunds based on how early the team goes out. They'd get more attendance, and therefore more money than they would have otherwise. Also gives a financial incentive to play a stronger team, and any refund would be treated as 'football money' that probably goes straight into the next year's SR.

Looks like we're waking up at last.

This! We don't even have a track here, there's a single 'push' track to practice on in the whole country, and yet we've won a medal in skeleton at every single Olympics that's featured it, now including back to back Champions.

We've done well to dig a win out of that, well and truly in with a chance of finishing above the current champions now! They think so too... http://www.redcafe.net/threads/premier-league-11th-12th-febuary.384562/page-3

"... an area the size of Wales..."

Looks like it's been thrown out by CAS as well, according to Telegraph journo.

What difference would that make?

Aye, Flores was wrong to react the way he did, but even if he hadn't reacted at all, and Carroll had missed completely, it can still be interpreted as a red by today's rules. Maybe it wouldn't have been given in the first place in that case, but since it was, the FA has no grounds to overturn it.

Isn't there a rule that says if you get the real courts involved you get your golden share suspended? Seem to remember something like that when we were trying to get our points deduction revoked, not sure if there's an equivalent sanction in the Prem.

Very sad news. Condolences to the Gallagher family. RIP

Would imagine it's just a cash-flow issue. Can't imagine they'd be managing to spend more than they're getting in while they're still getting the dregs of the parachute payments... right?
-
For me, I don't rate Carroll that much. West Ham's tactics probably get the best out of him, and credit to them for that, but I'm glad I don't have to sit there and watch it every week. He is perfectly capable of not being that great (especially in comparison to Lambert, or his price tag, which is usually what's being said on here) AND weakening West Ham by his absence.

Ah, maybe not.

Start of an epic comeback?
