  1. Liverpool won't play their first choice side. We have a great chance up against a side with a few second stringers in there - like Lovren and Lallana.
  2. 6 points adrift and nearly half way through the season. Play off agony beckons.
  3. Decent effort second half. Shame we didn't put that in last week, we would have had 3 points from 6, not none and a 'valiant effort'.
  4. We definitely have a chance. They are a bit like Chelsea at the moment - a bit up themselves and think they can win games walking around. Toure in particular. Let's get at them. Without Pelle we will be forced to be a bit more creative and their pedestrian defence is going to be tested.
  5. Rubbish all around. No spark from us, nothing. First shot on target a soft one by a sub on 70 minutes, and we were at home. Wanyama needs to go in January - our choice this time, don't need him around to destabilise us in another window, and he can practice his passing and shooting with some other mugs. Cedric way too narrow for their goal and his performance went downhill from there. Should have been hoiked off at half time. Other than that, I am looking at Koeman as the set up was all wrong, and didn't change all game. Nailed on penalty for the chop on Pelle so despite all the above, the worst performance of the day award has to go to Mason. Not giving that penalty was so bad it's borderline standing down material.
  6. Plymouth, Oxford and Northampton opening a bit of a gap to the top 3 there. No pressure today then.
  7. Need to keep both as clearly Liverpool or Spurs will be in for one of them at some point.
  8. Ritchie will score, of course he will. Question is, are we going to have one of our blunt weekends, and if we do - do you reckon we will score 2? They will raise their game big time, Boruc will have a blinder, you know it. And chasing at 0-1 after that Ritchie strike will leave us vulnerable to the counter. So if it goes 0-2 and the Bompey are giving it large do we still not really care? Let's not go there, team will need to be well up for the contest, creative and hungry, or we won't be winning this one.
  9. Confidence is a very brittle thing. Being the best team but still losing is the opposite of winning when playing badly. Play off agony beginning to loom on the horizon again. Pass the popcorn.
  10. Thought Mane was a bit lazy in letting Milner get the cross in for their goal. Glad he was on the end of the Ramirez header to square the ledger. Always nice to take 2 points off those muppets. Better than winning one ourselves.
  11. Newport and Brisbane. Unbelievably these places are on the same planet.
  12. He doesn't seem to save a lot, and isn't as commanding at corners as opposition goalkeepers seem to be. Jury still out for me.
  13. This is the game Chelsea bounce back to their top form. Anyone who has followed Saints for 30 years knows the drill.....
  14. Leyton Orient, Wycombe, Plymouth. Three clubs we could be looking to loan some academy players to for 'matchday experience'
  15. Nick this one and I'll call it square after the Everton defeat. A jammy 1-0 with a late goal deflected in off Shaw's rear end will do nicely.
  16. VVD is immense, what a signing he is going to turn out to be. Good of Pulis to agree it was a dive, it clearly was. Good form by the Saints fans to sing a song for Rickie, always going to be a Saints legend (see the banner). Other than that not much worth staying up until 2am for. Nice to go to bed with a point though, way better than losing.
  17. Do not be too eager to deal out judgment. Even the very wise cannot see all ends. My heart tells me that Gaston has some part to play yet, for good or ill, before this is over.
  18. Pants pulled down at Exeter. Harley ('54) & Nichols ('72).
  19. After living in Brisbane for three or four years I was asked by some Aussie mates what had been my best experiences since arriving. Being an objective type I sucked a thoughtful tooth then unintentionally ****ed them off by nominating my trip to Queenstown as being the highlight. Tells you a lot that.
  20. Decent effort, back to playing some good stuff. You can only beat what's in front of you. Still mightily unhappy after Thursday, but a win at West Brom after the break will go a long way towards leaving that behind. 6th or 7th has to be the target this season. Big ask, but we wouldn't have needed it if we hadn't messed it up so badly last week.
  21. Not much bothered either way. He is pretty skank in possession and isn't what he used to be at breaking things up. Better available elsewhere and Romeu can hold the fort in the meantime. Cash in.
  22. Without a change in attitude, tactics and personnel we are going to get hammered at home again. That performance Thursday night was an insult to the supporters. There need to be big changes across the board.
  23. End of an era for sure and time for a clear out. Wanyama and Mane can leave - their attitudes stink and Mane seems to have one great game in 3 with his boots on the wrong feet and his head up his arse for the other two. Steven Davis works hard but contributes nothing offensively and its time he moved on as well. You have to question some of the journeymen brought in - Caulker and Martina look like Championship players at best - so Roko needs to up his game as well.
  24. Let's not lose. Every point is a point nearer safety so we can exterminate the fear of relegation. We are playing some shocking football at the moment.
  25. Biggest challenge will be getting re-engaged after the massive let down from Europe.
