  1. All a matter of opinion. But if you think Frankie Boyle is unfunny try coming to Australia and watching their 'comedy'. I promise you that you will find Frankie facking hilarious after that. He is right up there with Cleese, Ben Elton, the Trotter brothers and Blackadder. Lee Mack and the Inbetweeners are also top class. England is blessed with top comics (frankie would love that!!)
  2. Anyone else think the fact that Spurs advanced Pompey the million re the Begovic deal to 'help them with cashflow' links in nicely with the theory that they threw the cup semi final to 'help them with cashflow'. The hand of Redknapp at work again?
  3. I have posted in the main takeover thread about this but it deserves a thread of its own. And here is why. The Storm have been found guilty by the NRL of breaching the NRL salary cap over the last 5 years - in effect cheating by signing and paying players they couldn't afford under the rules. Cheating, in the same way as Pompey then. The punishment just dished out an hour or so ago by the NRL? Stripped of their two Premierships won in that period, docked all points won this season AND any further points they win this season. And a huge fine. On that basis the FA can surely look at stripping Pompey of their FA Cup, excluding them from this years final and relegating them to League 1? Or is it just the Aussies who know how to deal with CHEATS? http://www.nrl.com/news/news/newsarticle/tabid/10874/newsid/58362/storm-stripped-of-two-nrl-premierships/default.aspx
  4. Massive breaking news out here in Australia that is relevant to Pompey's cheating. Melbourne Storm found guilty of breaching the NRL salary cap by £1M over 5 years. Compare that to Pompeys £120M deficit. The Storms punishment? Stripped of 2 Premierships, lost all points won this season and any points won for the rest of the season and a huge fine. Pompey should be stripped of their FA Cup, excluded from the final and relegated to League 1 as a minimum based on that.
  5. Bond has his summary wrong of course. He states that 108.79% of Revenues are taken up by salaries and overheads. If you look at the document it is clear that the 108.79% is salaries and payroll taxes only. The overheads are on top. So the situation is worse than he suggests.
  6. Good news about Rickie. I would imagine that money won't be much of an issue with Markus at the helm so any of our players being lured away by a Championship salary is unlikely. They would also know that Premier League benchwarming wouldn't be as much fun as staying with a tight unit in a great city hopefully winning a title.
  7. Not giving up until it's over. IF Huddersfield get turned over at Stockport (and they were sh1te against sorry Millwall) and we win Saturday it's only 4 points with 2 games to go - they will need to win one of their last two and they are both tricky. I hate the way Oldham and the officials stitched us up tonight though. We missed Schneiderlin.
  8. Lambert is a great player, and could go on to be even better, but Le Tiss was in my opinion the greatest player ever, up there with Cruyff and Pele. Far better than Maradona. Had an argument with Irish father in Law that he was better than Best which he wouldn't accept at all - until I showed him the 'Unbelievable' video.......
  9. Maybe another factor in Lowe's choice not to go into admin early was that the -10 being applied the following season was viewed as a positive as we weren't yet relegated from the Championship at that point and could still have escaped. -10 in the Championship was maybe viewed as better than -10 in League 1. Hindsight shows we were relegated anyway but that's hindsight.
  10. Roger F@cking Milford. Provided he isn't the ref again we should be fine. Would take 1-0 right now.
  11. Just watched it on Saints Player. Did anyone else get a different angle? It looks to me like he's just felled the Yeovil player with a bog standard yellow card chop after being repeatedly elbowed in the face right in front of the linesman. For me it was probably a yellow card each and play on. Did their guy get a yellow? In any case unless there was something else that can't be seen on Saints Player it looks a harsh straight red, and the officials were poor not to pull up the elbow work first.
  12. Steve Moran, Steve Moran, Steve Steve Moran, he gets the ball he scores a goal Steve Steve Moran.
  13. Mathematically still in with a shout, so hopefully we can beat Yeovil tonight. Huddersfield still have to win two of their last three to stop us if we keep winning. Milwall are complete w@nk though. How the hell that shower of s41te ever got in the play offs I cant understand. Commentator said 'one shot on target all night - and they missed that'!!!! If we don't make the play offs I hope Huddersfield don't go up because it's 6 easy points next season against them too.
  14. Wish he'd scored that on Sunday, I'm sure he feels the same way.
  15. Just listened to Alan Green's 606 podcast from last weekend. Did anyone else catch the muppet who called Alan to discuss Pompeys new access road from the M27 that was going to allow them to build a new 40,000 seater stadium in which they were going to 'stun the football world'. He was away with the fairies for quite a while, he got so excited I reckon his caravan would have been rocking on it's bricks. Comical.
  16. Sadly not there, but got up at 4:45am to be on the forum when it happened. Was there when Franny scored and that is enough for me for one lifetime.
  17. Of course you are right in terms of the quality at our disposal. But you have to ask - who got those guys to our club? Pardew ticks all the boxes and deserves our full support whatever the vagaries of football throw at us in terms of poor refs, players having the odd off day, unlucky results etc. etc. As long as we are up there with a shout of the League 1 title next season I will be delighted, in and around the play offs, satisfied.
  18. Great result, really great result at Rovers. Well done lads. Brilliant. Colchester got beat too which helps. Shame Walsall couldn't hang on, but Huddersfields confidence will be rattled for sure and they play Millwall Friday who really need the win after only drawing at Yeovil tonight. So all to play for - and a toughie at Yeovil off the back of their draw with Millwall. Still game on, and great for Saints to be extending the excitement........
  19. It's bad enough that you feel able to infect our forum with drivel like this, but to reference us as 'morons' on here is particularly stupid. Hope you sleep securely in your caravan tonight, retard.
  20. I sort of liked Spurs, even when Twitchy went there. Bugger that now, despicable side, worse than Liverpool. Useless bunch of chokers. Will only watch the 90 minutes from Wembley on Cup Final day now, screw the build up and all the fawning over the blue few. And if the unthinkable happens (and Pompey have some money down the back of the sofa to buy the ref again) the TV will be going off with the final whistle, just like it did the year they played Cardiff.
  21. Unfortunately it won't work out that way, as even if we win Huddersfield have a shoo in the same night at home to Walsall. So if we manage to win at Rovers, and to be fair, that would be a hell of a result on its own, we would still in all likelihood be 8 points behind Huddersfield with a game in hand, but with one less match to make up the gap. Sorry to be a realist. The play offs are still a mile off, but todays result was great.
  22. Date/time thing wasn't the answer either.
  23. After the crap dished up against Orient I expect us to respond and win this one. Partly because there's no real hope or expectation of making the play offs the pressure should be off. If we keep winning and get a few snookers the pressure will really come on and that is when we will balls it up imo. So I'm going for par, 3-1 to Saints.
  24. Macca's = McDonalds. And yes he has tried IE, Firefox and Safari - all the same, everything fine except for logging in to things. Will check date/time thing tomorrow when he is up.
  25. The Premier League contains Hull City, Burnley, Stoke and Wigan. You just need to win football matches, tin pot or not.
