  1. My refund also appeared today. Exactly 1 nineteenth of the ticket price, i.e. excluding the original £1.25 transaction fee!
  2. Well I like West Brom, I find their fans (generally) pretty friendly and a definite cut above either Villa or Wolves. Their team however looks pretty bad with a particularly leaky defence, cue a desperate 1-0 or 2-1 defeat 😒
  3. Happy to say thanks and good luck to P-E H. I certainly have no hard feelings towards him but (like most others) don't see him as a regular starter for a top 4 team.
  4. Very happy with the three points but don't wish Bournemouth any harm. I'll be happy if they beat Everton next Sunday particularly if it relegates Watford (if they really have sacked Pearson)
  5. Norwich - don't wish them ill, but haven't been good enough Aston Villa -, the worst football team in the division, also the place is a dump, I have no desire to go back there any time soon. West Ham - because it would be so funny! Re Bournemouth I don't wish them harm but if they don't go this year I think they will go next.
  6. Not just Champions League. It's possible 8th will qualify for Europa League - qualifying round stage though.
  7. My problem with the incident last night is that the accidental handball was well outside the penalty area and Rica and Snodgrass had to perform well to create/score the chance. I can see the logic of the attackers not profiting from an accidental handball in the penalty area but not when the 'handball' could happen somewhere around the halfway line (or even theoretically deep in the other half). I think the rule should be modified to make it clear that the accidental handball rule only applies in the penalty area.
  8. It means we're too late to be on telly but the game time could still get moved for foreign TV and online
  9. I too am mug enough to want to buy a programme sometimes. Arrived quite late for Liverpool so not surprised no programme sellers around but yesterday was there half hour before kick off and couldn't see anywhere to buy one. My son says they have some in the shop (superstore) but every other ground has plenty of sellers at all the main walk up points. Saints seem to have given up! What impression does this give fans of visiting teams?
  10. I think somewhere between 10th and 14th is a realistic goal and because I think Ralph will take the cups seriously at least one QF. This is assuming we don't lose (and not replace) any of our key players. IF we recruit well then I think we can aim for 7th -10th
  11. Well I liked the launch video as well. Bits genuinely made me laugh and Ralph appears to be a competent actor (for a footballer). Not really bothered about the nuances of kit design but don't like that black stripe, happy with the 2nd and 3rd strips though
  12. Just watched Steven Davis lay on a goal for Jermaine Defoe, does Stevie count as a defector yet? Any way I think it's great he's found a way to extend his career at a respectable level
  13. In 2016/17 we had 8 weeks without a home game from early Feb to 1st April and in that time we had one gap of 3 weeks between Sunderland and Watford away and two more gaps of c 2 weeks. From 1 April to 21 May we had to play 11 league games to catch up on all those that got postponed because of our League Cup final appearance and other teams' FA cup runs. HTH
  14. Sorry CB I think your grasp has failed you. If we beat Bournemouth then Swansea would have to beat both Chelsea and Bournemouth (and us lose to Everton) for Swansea to be safe. A win against Bournemouth also puts other teams in our sights including, based on your scenario, Bournemouth themselves. By the way I've just watched the presser and I thought he was showing calm determination. What do you want him to be doing, laughing and joking about our need to get out of a big hole?
  15. Just watched the highlight on MoTD2 and it confirms what I thought at the time. Cedric was fouled for the winning goal. Wilshere pushes him over giving Welbeck the free header. LOL at the analysts who said they watched it over and over but still didn't seem to spot the push. Of course it would have helped even more if Stephens hadn't left Cedric 2 on 1 at the back post
  16. Hesketh already has hth
  17. Back to the Leeds theme I remember going there winter 78 it was absolutely freezing, there was only a few of us there AND we lost 4-0!!
  18. I have to say it's polite indifference for virtually all of them from me except; LOVREN who was just such a prat that he deserves all the booing he gets LALLANA left a bad smell when he left but he gave me too much to be thankful for to boo VVD, yet to make my mind up, he probably deserves at least one round of abuse but then I'll probably wait to laugh when he does his usual (for this year) C*** up
  19. Protesting during a game just sours the atmosphere, gives us even less chance of winning/scraping a draw/avoiding a hammering (delete as appropriate) If anyone wants to protest do so at full time and/or outside the Directors' entrance before and/or after the game
  20. So am I the only person who is happy to avoid paying out obscene wages for someone who is regarded as a major disappointment by every Arsenal fan I've talked to?
  21. Also we're actually 8th highest on shots - so sorry benji it's not a problem of creating chances, it's a question of ability (or if you're being kind - form) Moan about the manager s much as you like and of course he takes a lot of the blame but make sure you direct a large chunk of your anger at the players
  22. Unless something radical changes I think Swansea and Huddersfield are odds on favourites and based on form to date WHam would be my 3rd choice But I think all the teams below us are at risk. One team that is quietly dropping is Newcastle.
  23. He wouldn't go all that way to watch a premier league player so who is playing who he can't get to see any week of the season?
  24. FF as a Saints historian you should realise that being in the top half of the Premier League 4 times in a row IS a big thing for Southampton FC. The only period that can match it in our history is the 5 top half finishes in 6 years between 1980 and 1985. Even with our disappointing home form we are still living in good times!
