True, but Shaw and Clyne were so good for us last season, I'd hate to see too much tinkering just to accommodate a lad like Chambers who doesn't look ready yet to genuinely challenge Clyne for his spot. Yet again I would have said that about JWP up until a week ago.
I do too. Although Chambers has looked full of promise....Clyne had a wonderful 12/13 at RB and surely would have started the season but for the injury.
I thought VW did show the ability to thread creative passes several times in the game - very impressive. Conversely, JWP, although tidy and with good set piece delivery, seems to lack the creative pass at this stage.
Top man that SRL. Not only a good footballer but a good human being. I often wonder just how far he could have progressed if he had pace in his bag of tricks as well.
I think Adam deserves another season before judgement on him is passed. I keep monitoring Nathan Dyer's progress at Swansea given they both came through the Saints system together, and at this stage Dyer has made more of an impact at Prem level than Adam. I hope the Captaincy goes to someone else too.
I remember the debate about Fox and Harding......many argued Harding was the better LB; I could never see it; DF's positioning is loose to say the least, but his first touch is good and his dead ball left foot and crossing aren't too shabby either - almost certain to stay as cover.
In Wanyama's agents case it seems 10% was the demand. With real estate agents (not that I am one) there is a set % range which the seller and agent can then negotiate on, (usually down). As others have said, with the revenue from TV rights being so generous it does make holding out on an extra few hundred thousand for the right player seem thrifty for the wrong reasons - principled or not.
