Well all good with the new manager who sounds ideal but not at all sure about Black..... How is he a 'good fit' I wonder... Villa were incredibly terrible last season and wasn't Black first team head coach or Assistant Manager.....?
-
Very precise...... This is called cashing in and being dressed up as some kind player power....

Ok why have we have sold this time? Becoming stupid ........ Why? This will now unsettle more players and so the anual sell off/circus continues... Wrong message to send out - poor... -
Everyone in Europe just got 10% more expensive.

Don't believe the bias media. The pound was at this level not long ago this year, it only went up recently on speculation that it would rise if 'in' won.... This evening share prices were back up to only a 2% reduction which considering everything is not that radical considering.... -
He sounds really good - get him in ...

Way too cheap !

It really does look as though the so called Southampton Way, Black Box process etc etc was not ready and prepared for RK to leave. We seem to be lost in the woods on a replacement, unable to decide with no particular short list or ready replacement in mind when RK left. We were ill prepared for this eventuality and this time round will end up with a compromise rather than an ideal fit. Certainly it has been a surprise that we have been caught so cold considering the often heard 'giving it large' on our Black Box preparedness and stratedgy that is reportedly in place. Given that the situation has been brewing for quite a while with a reasonable probability of Koeman leaving we seem to have been caught with our trousers down. At least Everton had a clear strategy and a short list with a definate preference, they were well organised and took decisive action to implement the process of bringing their new man in. Put the money to one side, they had a plan and did they ever put it into practice. If reports are to be believed we have been lacking in our research on prospective candidate suitability and are now trawling for any random fish who maybe less fit than we need..

Having watched a few Euro 16 games, you need players these days not cash because there isn't that much talent out there for any money by the looks of it. The concencus seems to be that quality is not that high these days. Sell our good players and we will have a considerable difficulty replacing them...for any money....

We didn't 'need' to cash in so the fee was rediculously low!
-
Calm down and take a look at yourself mate !!!!

Well Ronald you look as though you are really looking forward to this challenge! Your affinity with Everton is palpable !!!! Have you bitten off more than you can chew? He looks and sounds what he is - scared and vulnerable as well as embarrassed and so he should be! If he starts badly I wouldn't want to be in his shoes - apart from the nice salary of course ... I somehow doubt he will care too much though if it all goes Pete Tong I do hope that Lakaku stays after watching him play in the Euros - what was Gary Linaker's description - ah yes - an entirely accurate 'Abject'

Nathan Redmond Joins on 5 Year Deal - Official

I fear this might be true yet Wanyama is twice the player ! We are very week in our negotiations unfortunately .. -
A very decent player ... I remember Denis Hollywood man marking George Best but not Tony... None the less liked his style ....
-
I Concise and to the point. A point I have made. Whilst I am annoyed at Koeman's integrity he was not that marvellous. Everton will be dissapointed, will end up paying a shed load of compensation when he is unloaded and the story ends happily ...

Firstly we are not talking about Koeman as a player so why mention it ? Secondly he enjoyed a very large slice of good fortune that Pelle got injured when we were in a major slump and heading only one way. This meant he was forced to employ Shane Long and the tide turned .... Without the Pelle injury we may well have ended up in the bottom half. Koeman is no genius as a manager......
-
Hilarious that your owner actually prefers Arsenal !!! Oh dear oh dear ....
-
The really funny part is that he is not that good so we will smile when he fails to take your lower mid table outfit to top six and gets sacked..... Gloat all you like you will soon find out he has severe limitations ....
-
Oh forgot to concur on Classie - take him with you!
-
Complete classless human being with very average talent.. Lack of a hard work ethic too so we have now heard and seen with his various tweets. He can bugger off and he must be sweating on this decision already........
-
I like him too - a good influence it seemed from the outside. Have to say more recently he was less animated so maybe he knew things we going tits up...

So Koeman is so impressed with Everton and so determined to work for them that they put 7m on the table - he doesn't sign and goes on holiday!!!! You couldn't make it up.... I am just curious how the Everton multi squillionaire will react when Koeman wins a game and makes five changes to the personnel and changes the system completely for the next match..... Also how will the Squillionaire react to a sequence of one win in ten matches???? You might well regret this rude incursion Evertonians - good luck - you will need it, he is no world beater as many have said.... In fact it has often been said he is too clever for his own good and this episode kind of proves it.... Weird does not begin to describe the choice he has made - pure greed. It's not even as though Everton are anywhere near as big as Spurs even..... On the slide as a club and it would be a surprise if Koeman is talented enough to reverse that direction.... If you had properly researched your data, his managing traits, results and some of his good fortune i.e. that Pelle got injured and he was forced to play the better Shane Long who won us a shed load of points at a time when Pelle was not delivering anyway and we were really struggling etc etc... He was lucky in the end or we would have finished 10th or 11th at best if Pelle had not got injured and forced his hand. So 7m based on a handful of decent games where his team selection was forced and not based on his strategy. He also likes his holidays btw, even when things are not going so well, picks his favourites indefinitely and doesn't favour bringing through youth. Also many of his substitutions were like his behaviour now - totally bizarre and without logic or reason. I think many Saints supporters were very angry to start with - like I was but now, in the cold light of day we will be better off with one of the very talented other managers that will be applying for the post of running a team built on long term strategy, bricks and mortar as opposed to money and rash knee jerk decisions to go poaching an ordinary manager who had a touch of good fortune and that's all... We will see but don't get your hopes up too much......

However, Reed has had all this time having all these wonderful long chats with. Koeman every day and still didn't manage to close the deal before he went on holiday! Reed provaricates and fumbles at per Toby and to some extent MP too when he left. Snooze and you lose! This is what Reed does. He doesn't negotiate well and doesn't read the situation allowing others to swoop in and steel his chips.... There are some excellent industrial negotiators out there who would and are indeed making Les look stupid. We need them working for Saints. Les is not up to the business tasks these days and should be shunted sideways to look after recruitment alone.... I agree with Echo article.

Does anyone know what the latest '5 year plan' actually is? Does it involve getting managers in for one to two seasons only? If so the 'plan' is likely to fall on the ground at any time? The 'Plan' seems to be half baked with little detail of how it will be achieved. Everything we do should work around the plan, it it doesn't fit then it's not put in place. We now need to learn lessons regarding being used. I'm no expert on contracts of this nature (not that I believe it is a strength of Les Reed) however, buyout clauses would appear to need to be very robust... This policy would also serve as test of the expected loyalty from managers. If you want to jump ship there is a hefty cost to pay and in this day and age 3m would be derisory. 3m is small change, let's face it....
