I envy anyone who hasn't seen Gavin and Stacey. They have so much to look forward to when they discover it.

Brilliant last ever episode. What fantastic Christmas day entertainment.

I never realised that Batman read the Grauniad (top right hand corner). Mind you he is rather gullible.

Remember.... Its the hope that kills you.

It will only need a "good" performance on Wednesday against Liverpool (eg a defeat by less than 2 goals ) for SR to do another Ruben Selles trick and appoint Rusk until the end of the season .

18???? Pathetic. You need to sharpen up. There is a post on the main site that has achieved 49 smiley emojis within 8 hours. You need to step up mate. 😁😁😁

To be fair, I guess it depends on what time of day you look at their website. As I type (6.45 am) the NZ match is top on their headlines - even beating RM's sacking.

I am staying. Don't know why. Guess its part of life's rich tapestry. You have to have a shit sandwich sometimes to enjoy a good meal... Whenever that arrives.
-
.... And that would be more enjoyable for all of us . Why don't you grow up and leave Sog alone? Your obsession with him and your need to reply to everything he posts makes you a sad, obsessed weirdo.

More EU trading regulations coming into force tomorrow. General product safety regulations (GPSR). More paperwork for exporters. More cost for exporters when selling into the EU. We have of course had no say in drawing up these rules but will need to accept them. So much for our "sovereignty". This country really knew how to shoot itself in the foot when voting for Brexit.

Perhaps Twitter // X is broken. 😁😁

The Starmer Years - Can The New Broom Sweep Clean?
Tamesaint replied to sadoldgit's topic in The Lounge
The only way that he could ever impress you Duckie would be if he returned as a living reincarnation of Margaret Thatcher. 😁😁😁 -
Is Alan Smith the worst commentator. "What do Southampton need to do to escape relegation?" "Get some clean sheets" No shit sherlock.
-
That is exactly the issue. The principle in theory is clear. It is the consequences that cause me the issues.

The Starmer Years - Can The New Broom Sweep Clean?

According to you our armed forces are so crap they wouldnt last a weekend if put up against the Russians so why not scrap them and spend the money on hospitals? -
The Tories think that they have found another Mrs T. They think it is Mrs Thatcher instead it is Truss. 😁

Interesting. I think that we had a great example in thus election of confirmation bias. I admit that I was guilty of it and I believe that the BBC was as well.

I haven't read the proposed bill but from what I have read this is not how it would work. There is no proposal for AD to take effect "at sometime in the future". The current proposal states that the person needs to have no more than 6 months to live. To achieve what you would have wanted for your grandmother the current AD proposal would need to be widened. The supposedly "strictest safeguards in the world" would need to be relaxed.... proving that they aren't very strict after all and the fears of vulnerable people would be strengthened .
-
Sorry to hear about your grandmother. It is recognised by the advocates of this bill that safeguards need to be put in place to protect the vulnerable. But how long lasting would these safeguards be? When she was drifting in and out of consciousness your grandmother would presumably have failed to have sufficient mental capacity to make an AD choice. This is one of the safeguards in the proposal. AD would not have been possible for her. If the AD proposal is passed as it is there would doubtless soon be movements to amend or remove this safeguard. Similarly there would be arguments why should people in constant pain have to wait for a 6 month diagnosis. "Couldn't the 6 month rule be amended to include them?" There would be objections to a lay person like a judge being expected to adjudicate on medical matters. "Why involve them in this process when judges are so busy and their time and resources are limited?" I fear that safeguards designed to protect the vulnerable will be gradually eroded. This has happened in other countries where AD legislation has been passed and I fear that the same would happen here.

I wouldn't disagree this season but how about last year. 87 goals. 3rd highest scorers in the League. I was entertained and enjoyed going to St Marys.
