  1. They don't have internet where Les goes on "business" with his garden gnomes. That is why periodically he goes silent on this thread and is nothing to do with him not bring able to answer questions posed to him by Shurlock.
  2. Looks like this was a bad day to start doing insurance bets.... I am pleased that I didn't.
  3. Please... What an image.
  4. Funnily enough I did get a vague inkling that he thinks that we shojld get some new players. Did he ever answer Shroppie's question about the centre half?
  5. How long is it since we beat one of the "Big6" ? Is it 20 days?
  6. What? You are expecting Guided Missile to use some judgement and common sense before posting? I don't think that you have been paying attention on this thread. There is about as much chance of that happening as a concise, humourous comment from Les.
  7. I think that you talk a lot of sense but unfortunately it is not quite as easy as you suggest. I know several law graduates who have unfulfilling jobs which do not use their law knowledge. My cousin's daughter is a qualified vet who vet who at the age of 30 wants to start a new career away from treating animals. On the other hand an economics degree proved to be the foundation for many accountants that I know to have successful careers. I would suggest that the advice that you offer is sound but don't be too prescriptive. At the end of the day it should be your daughter's choice as to her future career.

There’s a reason why the royals are demonised. But you won’t read all about it https://www.theguardian.com/commentisfree/2020/jan/19/there-is-a-reason-why-royals-demonised-but-wont-read-all-about-it-prince-harry-meghan-markle? An interesting read. I always thought that Piers Morgan was a see you next Tuesday.
  9. Blimey! I am off ignore. GM is developing a backbone and is prepared to read views different from his own. Is a new GM on the horizon?
  10. Blimey mate. For such a betting guru you are a bit behind the game. Bet365 paidout on Liverpool winning the league a couple of weeks ago. Didn't you get paid or are Bet 365 one of the bookies that banned you for winning so much ??
  11. Remarkably concise for you but not only humourless but graceless.
  12. As I said - long winded, repetitive and lacking in humour.
  13. You just don't get it do you?? You have posted umpteen times on this thread. Your posts are tedious, repetitive and humourless. When put under pressure you disappear from this thread for a couple of weeks before reappearing with the same views. You can never admit to being wrong about anything... even spelling. Of course you don't make loads of spelling mistakes but just admit to one when you do. Don't argue that black is white like you did yesterday. In other words, lighten up pal. Open your mind to the possibility, unlikely to you I am sure, that you do not have a monopoly of knowledge.
  14. If it was he will not admit it. I forget. Which day of the week is it that Les doesn't do? Is it Fridays by chance?
  15. If he does it will be several paragraphs longer than it should be ... with several spelling errors.
  16. Dont blame me if I fall asleep after reading the first sentence. Why not try to be more concise and less repetitive? ... and by the way, improve your spelling.
  17. Straitjacket rather than straightjacket is the normal, correct spelling of the word. If you are going to write tedious tosh, you could at least spell correctly.
  18. We will know more after Saturday but a team who I think could struggle im the second half of the season is Wolves. I am not saying that they will be relegated but the spread betting firms have them the equivalent of 50/1 to finish in the bottom 6. For them to finish lower the odds escalate (eg 100/1 to finish 5th from bottom). This seems huge odds to me. They have already played more matches this season than anyone else and their performance last night was described by many as "tired". They are beginning to suffer from injuries and have big European matches to come. No wins in the last 5 games, they dont look healthy to me. On the balance of things, whilst they will I think struggle in the second half of the season they will need to really plummet to finish 6th from bottom. However they should not be 50/1 and there is a slom possibility of a big payout here.
  19. Those two share a flat in London . I think that is where his fantasies start....
  20. I think that I agree with the main gist of what you say but it is not as easy as you claim. Yes lets look at the players we have sold to Liverpool. VVD and Mane have become world class but Lambert's and Clyne's careers nose dived after they left us. Lallana has lost his England place and Lovren is out of the Liverpool team more often than he plays. The money from Lallana gave us the money to buy Mane. We havent done too badly from our sales to Liverpool and not many of the players we have sold to them have fulfilled their potential. Football has a hierarchy. I want us to get higher in the hierarchy and I am sure that you do as well. We need however to be realistic and understand that without the owners of the likes of Chelsea and Man City sometimes you need to take one step backwards to take two steps forward.
  21. Its all right for me. I put an insurance bet on that they would be beaten. Bet 365 are closing my account as I have won so much.
  22. Quick Heisenberg. You can get 28/1 for one of your "insurance bets".
  23. I am not a health professional but as a matter of interest.... how many alcohol units do you think that you consume each week??
  24. I see that Long Bailey is the preferred candidate of Momentum. No surprise there as she considered Corbyn's leadership to be worth 10 out of 10. Their inability to "get it" is just staggering. Starmer appears to be the only grown up candidate I could see standing on the steps of Number 10. Apparently he is leading in polls of all members - not just Momentum. This country needs a credible opposition and I hope that he is still in the lead by the time the tortuous process is over.
  25. With odds of 25/1 now available anyone who topped up at 6/1 must be pig sick. Heisenberg... the bookies friend!!
