If we get top quality RB/CB and a ST before deadline day I'd be hoping for top 2 if I'm honest!
-
Seeing as we've had a 100000 page thread for every striker we've been linked with, we might as well have one for this guy. I would be delighted if I'm honest. This is a guy that scored a decent amount of goals in the premiership last year, scoring at places like Stamford Bridge and Anfield. (I'm stunned that Everton want to offload him). He's got pace in behind which is what we're crying out for, and he's worked with Adkins (albeit for a short period). If this comes off, I think it'll be a huge statement. Proven in the premiership, unlike Jay R, Maynard, Sharp etc.. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5xoEamDbnXE

@jezbutter is the official twitter of a football journalist from the north west - a saints fan randomly asked him if he'd heard anything, and he came back with this.
-
If we want a CB (which we do) we'll sign a CB, we're not going to move a RB to cover that position. It wouldn't surprise me in the slightest if we used Butterfield as part of the deal for Clyne, seeing as he's a bit of a cult figure for them.

jezbutlerJeremy Butler by hartysaintboy@ @Jack_SFC_2011 Everton are trying to push Jermaine Beckford Saints way. Clyne is one they are working on but striker is biggest headache

Seems like the Palace fans are getting the news via a locked twitter feed, have tried to see if I can follow them to get a bit of the gossip. Interestingly the description of the feed is: Aspiring Football Writer/Reporter - Wycombe Wanderers Correspondent for PFA (ON HOLD). Crystal Palace Fanzone writer 'Life's a Pitch'..Big Film and Music fan. Avid CPFC Which would suggest they have some connections to the club/football in general if true.
-
Popped up on twitter, Palace fans ''hearing'' that bids have gone in for a few of their players, and they also say they've heard rumours of Clyne to us - and also on football-forums. (which i guess is just a rehash of what was on twitter)
-
Crystal Palace fans now reporting Clyne to us. Let's hope they haven't just read it from here... Just found out he's in the last year of his contract too, and isn't likely to resign.
-
He's an outstanding prospect, again, it would make sense in terms of potential/age etc... I wouldn't say it's a signing we need to do now though. I'd hope we focus our efforts on a CB and a striker more than RB.
-
I reckon Redknapp will walk before long, they're down to the bare bones(!)!)!) - and he's bled them dry so that they actually have no transfer funds until they sell this summer.
-
I think he did, but Leicesters change of formation allowed us to express ourselves a little more too, so we got more of the ball. I think we're bloody fortunate to have Cork, Deano, Morgan and Chappers as our 4 midfield options. It's up there with the best in the league, and I'm sure NA will call it right when it needs to be changed and all of those players will get a fair amount of chance over the season, in CM.
-
Agree with that, which is why fortunately we still have him and the ''big clubs'' have never really looked at him.
-
It would be like playing Surman/Skacel at left back all over again. Play the players in their natural/best positions and the results will follow. We don't need to put square pegs in round holes, if we want a new RB I'm sure we'll buy one. Just as we did at left back.
-
Lots and lots of bitter people.
-
He would not have struggled to get into our team for christ sake.
-
Ashley young looks even more classy in a Man utd shirt, although it was pretty easy for him. This is an horrendous arsenal team, they'll do well to finish top 10. They just have no experience what so ever, teams like Bolton and Stoke will take them to the cleaners. (as well as man utd/chelsea/man city....)
-
These threads are so stupid. The kid will have tripled his wage and set himself up for life. It was a no brainer.
-
It's got their ahead of schedule as the storm is travelling much faster than before, what they have at the mo (a bit of rain in all honesty) is as bad as it will get for New York. The winds seem to be weakening and staying out to the coast. The big threat now is the storm surge.
-
Don't think this thread will last too long...... We don't need to play square pegs in round holes anymore, the days of that are long gone.
-
Looks like the media over-hyped it all again. It's not even a hurricane anymore. New York isn't even windy!!
-
and they've splashed £6m on it!!! (Their fans really don't rate Mills)
-
...and I have a sneaky feeling that the open training session on Thursday is to show something off.
-
errrrrrrrrrr?

Southampton were the best side I'd seem down the KP for a long time. Brilliant football game. Lallana gave him a lesson. The skill for the first was worth of a higher level. Having said that, we did beat the best footballing team we have played for many a long time. If they manage to bring in another striker and a centre back I'd put a lot of money on them getting automatic promotion. They were excellent Southampton are a very good side and will be up there come May. They reminded me very much of Norwich last season with their style of play. Good on the ball, good at the physical stuff.

Will be interesting to see how he does when Brighton play some decent teams, they've not really had any real tests so far. By all accounts we've had a pretty tough start on paper.
