This is very true, and this is the same at all workings at the club. And why I'm not handing over any of my money until there is a bit more clarity over what we're trying to do.

That was a great game. I think it was the game Davis and Baird got into a little scuffle towards the end as well. 3-0 up....almost threw it away.

How was it correct if it was proven to be incorrect a mere minute or two later?

Seriously, don't play the race card.

Lower League Player Options V Players From Abroad
S-Clarke replied to Saint Billy's topic in The Saints
I'd personally like to see us go back to signing players from 'lesser leagues', who are already stand out at that level. Wanyama, VVD, Mane, Pelle, Tadic etc. With our recent signings of Hoedt, Hojbjerg, Lemina, Gabbinadini etc - whilst good pedregree and coming from top sized clubs, they've not been regulars there and there's a reason for that. This is why getting someone like Quincy would be a good start in getting back to that approach, he's a standout player in a lesser league who will see us as a stepping stone. -
I'd snap someones hand off for £20/25m to be honest. Not sure there will be any real interest in him though.
-
Can I just ask who you'd prefer? I personally think this has always been a bit of a no-brainer. We need a bit of stability now and we have someone here who already knows our weaknesses and squad. Getting someone new in to go through that process all over again is probably a tad risky.

Summer 2018 - Other teams Manager/transfer business
S-Clarke replied to Batman's topic in The Saints
£25m is food and drink for a decent proven player these days. You won't get much for less than the £20m mark. -
I don't feel sympathy towards anyone's job when they are paid a 3 figure salary for the hardship.
-
More waffle.

They've ditched their 'DoF' (steve walsh) as well, and replaced him with the bloke from PSV. I'm pretty sure they paid a tidy sum to get Walsh from Everton last summer too. Depresses me how clubs nowdays have no real care for money.
-
Not sure how Rose is ahead of him in any way. He only played 10 games this season.
-
He's just in the prelim. squad I think. Don't expect him to be included in the final, but I may be wrong...
-
At least we won't have to worry about any of our players being 'chatted up' over the summer, plus most of our players get the summer off. Not bothered so few of our players will be there. I think we'll probably only end up with Yoshida, Cedric and Tadic there.
-
That midfield is absolutley horrific. When you think we went to the last world cup with Lampard, Gerrard, Wiltshire, Barkley. Now we have Henderson, Dier and Loftus-Cheek. Amazeballs.
-
You spend too much time worrying about stuff which isn't ever going to happen.
-
I'm surprised people still mention him. He's a rubbish football player. He doesn't have anything other than being able to run fast, that hasn't changed and probably won't change. That's why he's in the NPC.
-
Given the track record of the last two summers then yes, it would be inviting trouble.
-
They kept those awards quiet. Kat, Gao, Les and Ralph all there by the looks of it. Mccarthy player of the season, Gabbiadni goal of the season, Hojbjerg Kat's 'choice' award, or whatever it is.
-
Not sure I could have coped with that.......

I think Charlie will score bags of goals in the right setup, but you need him in the box. What you need around him to make up for his lack of mobility are runners, pace and power. And I'm not suggesting Long is the answer for that either. He looks poor when he's isolated on his own and is running onto balls, that's not his game, never has been and never will be. He'll put in a good shift as that's what he does, but really you need to get him in the 6 yard box, get him to stay there and have quality in and around him to supply the ball.
-
36-38 points is pretty much the norm you need to aim for if you want to stay up.

The only slight concern I have over Hughes is his transfer record. Obviously, his recent record at Stoke was awful, lots of highly paid, expensive additions in the likes of Imbula, Saido, Jese etc. Then you've got his stint at QPR where he signed expensive dross like Cesar, Boswinga, Granero, Fabio. Not too sure how much input he had, as QPR was clearly a basket case at the time he was there. I’d say the jury is certainly out though...

Just a note on Cedric, he has two years left - he signed a new one when Puel was here, so it expires in 2020. Still, two years left is around the sort of time you start to think what you do with him...
