  1. I'm not sure if anyone is aware, but it's Steven Gerrards birthday today. Don't think it has been mentioned before.
  2. I didn't think that was allowed in England? the clubs have to own 100% of a player. When Utd bought him, they had to buy out 100% of his rights. Interestingly, Tadic is also represented by them. But both Tadic and Rojo are now greyed out on their site saying ''transfered to club xx''
  3. Is that a loan, or some sort of exchange job? Wouldn't imagine we'd get much for Clyne if that was the case. We should look at Rafael as an exchange if that's an open possibility.
  4. He would be a terrific addition, which I'm assuming would be a loan if it did happen. Very talented, but hasn't seen much game-time at Utd last season for one reason or another (poss had a few injuries) Why is this on the Clyne thread by the way??
  5. Or the agent got greedy.
  6. And now everything will continue as if nothing ever happened.
  7. Les Reed has already said that they want RB cover for next season.
  8. Probably not, but a valuation is usually discussed between all parties before a bid is made. But Rogers is still close to becoming the most hated person in this City.
  9. I'm sure we have plenty of options up our sleeves if he does go. Jammat wouldn't be a bad call. I still think the initial £10m, if as reported, is a bit of a ****-take by Rogers. Is he trying to make himself the most hated person in the City? A guaranteed £15m + ADD-On's up to £20m would be where I'd try and take it. Plus a decent sell on fee, as we have to take into account, that apparently....Palace get 25% of any fee as well (I say apparently, as I read this on some Palace forums, but I imagine they will be due some sell-on)
  10. In this situation, the player does hold a good % of the cards. We had the power with Lallana, Morgan and Jay to a degree. So if Clyne has said, I want to leave, then the situation is that the club will have to negotiate an acceptable fee in this window. You couldn't let him leave for free, it would be business suicide. But I still hold hope that, as the story states, we rejected the bid. Let's see what happens before this turns into meltdown v2.
  11. Have I just been transported back to last pre-season? Firstly you cannot deny that Liverpool are a bigger club in all senses to us, historically, however I would say at this moment in time, on the playing field - there isn't a massive gap between us. So for one of our players to move to them at this moment in time will be seen as somewhat of a sideways move. I personally don't think Clyne is CL material as yet, but to get to that level I think he's better off staying where he is, signing a new deal and waiting for a big top 4 club to come in - which they will do at some point. Obviously money may talk here, but any of our players moving to Liverpool now would create an incredibly bitter taste for me. At this moment in time I think it's a silly move for him, but whatever, that's just my 2 sents. Let's see what happens. And also, isn't the whole story based on the fact that we have Rejected a bid anyway?
  12. What a mess this is. If the match-fixing stuff is true, there's no way back for Fifa? Time to break ranks and do our own thing.
  13. Never said such a thing. I was actually crediting K,Billy who did say ''Clyne staying''. And he's pretty respectable.
  14. The positive is that he's out of contract, so can't be included in a part-ex officially.
  15. $$$$ talks, and so does Lallana by the looks of it. Little ****.
  16. A couple of million max. if we get anywhere near 8 million I'll personally pay for his replacement.
  17. I'm sure Lallana is having a nice little chat to him.
  18. I remember in January Koeman implyed that if we lost cork, we would need to go and get a replacement midfielder - well, that never happened, so I guess that's still on the agenda with or without Morgan. And I believe Vilhena is more of an attacking style midfielder.
  19. Yeah I mentioned that in another thread, what are those pre-season tours all about? I mean I think we can take MP's comments about burn out with a pinch of salt now. There's probably some decent $$$$ for the clubs though, which is probably why they do it. But in this day and age of everyone saying ''they don't get a break'' ...why create more games.
  20. Women football teams, probably.
  21. To be honest, doesn't feel like the season is over for me yet - not until we know what happens on Saturday. There seems to be very little break this year, only got to wait a matter of weeks and it's all started again. We only have 2 and bit weeks to wait until the fixtures are out!
  22. It's clear to see what the world thinks of Fifa and blatter alone. It's quite clearly corrupt with the way he's stayed in power for so long, just hope they finally get the dirt on him which is obviously there somewhere.
  23. Was there really any point in posting that? Let's be honest.
  24. I wouldn't be! Jenkinson did ok, but nothing special. He'd be a major downgrade in my book, and spending 50% of the Clyne fee on him would be criminal in my opinion. Personally, I think his comments today pretty much confirm he's staying - just waiting for the pen to paper confirmation now.
