  1. Joe Hart was a bit older, 19, going by this - http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/teams/m/man_city/5006544.stm I think his first taste of first team football came at Birmingham 2 seasons later, he had a storming season there too.
  2. To be fair, I think we've been quite gracious in the Morgan deal. We knew he'd go, we accepted what he'd done for us and knew he could do better. Similar to what the Celtic guys are feeling I assume. Luckily for Celtic, their players haven't kicked up a fuss demanding moves.
  3. Good to read all the Celtic views, when the clubs fans come out with such glowing terms about a player, you know you have a good one (similar was said of Clasie). Was Victor at Celtic with Virgil, or did Virgil come in after we'd got Victor? Forster, Virgil and Wanyama down the spine is pretty tasty.
  4. To be fair, I was trying to say that it was refreshing how they didn't get the players.
  5. Will be interesting to see how we use him from here on in. He'll clearly be here until January at the very least, can't imagine we'll be paying him to sit about if he's fit.
  6. I'm going to enjoy his attempts at this one - [h=1]Papy Djilobodji[/h]
  7. I smell a slight porky, as I'm sure Toby was on their list to tick off.
  8. Refreshing in the sense that they don't get their way. So often players are seen as the ones who hold all the cards and they can bully their clubs to get their way.
  9. In a way, it's quite a refreshing window. Everton, ourselves and West Brom holding their own and calling the shots. Should happen more often.
  10. They deserve it, after the way their club has acted. They look weak as hell in CM though, they shifted out 3 and didn't bring in any (and they clearly wanted one). They are certainly deflated.
  11. They lost Paulinho, Capoue, Stambouli all gone from their midfield. Ok, not the best players, but I'm pretty sure they didn't shift that lot on with the intention of sticking with what they have. They look pretty light in CM. Up front is interesting, depends how Son does who is a good player. But there's a lot of pressure on Kane to produce the goods, I don't see anything else in their team to worry me.
  12. Lol. As has always been said, when Alpine rants and gets in a tizz about something he doesn't understand, almost always the opposite happens. I've not known a situation whereby he has been right, ever. Got no problem with people having opinions, but it's his sheer bullishness that he is right and anyone else is an idiot.
  13. A bit of a silly billy, but the blame lies with Spurs for acting like ******s and tapping up all over the show.
  14. TBF it looks like it has. They left it all till the last minute and are now weaker than they were last year. Whops.
  15. Spurs are scum. The way they act with transfers is just backhanded and dirty, their aim is to unsettle the player first. I wish the clubs could get proof and get them docked points or something, they're shocking. I think Saido has just shown his immaturity there, given the lack of proper English in the tweet. But the blame lies with Spurs, they rub the players up before they even submit a bid - and the players then expect it to happen. As we see from Saido's rant and Morgan's last year, and then Wanyama's 'uncertainty' this week. They need to have a transfer ban or something and learn how to do it properly.
  16. Talking of Gaston, I wonder what on earth is going to happen with him now? Are we actually going to use him?
  17. itchen_dan has it nailed. Clasie will fit in that position pretty well, can rotate with Davis. Then you have Reed/JWP to rotate with the other 2. Lots of good options.
  18. Can I just take this moment to LOL @ spurs? They have made a right old meal of this window.
  19. A signing we all knew would happen at the start of August, and I think a player we were after last year too. Seemingly has all the attributes, Celtic fans utterly rave about him, so I'm looking forward to seeing him in action.
  20. Yeah, that I agree with. We started at a high tempo right from the off, not many clear cut chances, but we dominating the midfield from the start. Was only a matter of time until we scored at that stage.
  21. Now we are hearing that United did send the documents on time but in a format that couldn't be opened at the LFP What the actual **** is going on. I'm sure this is all being made up to make tomorrow more exciting, as otherwise it'll be another boring day.
  22. I imagine Alpine_Siesta is having a bit of a meltdown right now.
  23. The documents did not arrive on time!!!!!! Presentation was ready. All agreed. But as it stands de Gea stays at MUFC!! For two of the biggest clubs in the world to **** that up is quite incredible.
  24. DE GEA...NO DEAL! Wow. It looks as though David de Gea will be staying atManchester United.
  25. Does it really matter if we sign him today or tomorrow though? We're getting him at some point over the next 24 hours, although I'd imagine he's been prepared to come here for a lot longer.
