  1. I think his 'head' is in a more stable place. I think he recongises that we're not going to block a move, but it has to be on our terms. He's come out in the media and has said as much.....''The club will let me go if a CL come along and bid for me'' If they don't...or don't offer what we want, close to what we want...then he'll get his head down. For what it's worth, It will get sorted out I reckon.

Yeah, but that Toby's friends stuff is re-hashed from back in May. That was superseded the next day by a story in de telegraaf saying that he'd told Madrid he wanted to join us.

You're assuming that they were easy to deal with, is there even a deal agreed? No one knows. What I remember reading, again...direct quotes..., came from his father at the end of the season. ''Atletcio want him back, and they will decide from there'' - so it wasn't ever as easy for us to just do a deal in January, or before the season ended. Atlecio seemingly wanted to talk to the player, and...maybe use him as bait in some other deals, seeing as they had no money.
  4. I guess it wasn't as disastrous as Forren...... But I guess on the outset at the time it was a good deal, but he's never shown any sort of ability...so I'm not sure what exactly happened to the Mayuka of a few years back. I think Mane is what we hoped Mayuka would be.

Of course we've been talking with Madrid, probably for a good few months. But I think they've made the whole situation a lot more complicated than it should have been. There is a volume coming out, but as alluded to above...they're all quoting each other, or re-hashing stuff from a few weeks back to bulk up a story. I'm not denying there is Spurs interest, but if it was as close as these media outlets were claiming, then we'd have had something a little bit more substantial by now. (it was supposed to be completed over the weekend, and then he was supposed to have a medical tomorrow...and then it was today......etc etc)
  6. 5 years.
  7. I think any of us would love to keep hold of Morgan over anything, but we know it won't happen. Clasie seems an affordable option.
  8. I was waiting for someone to throw that in there. Morgan, Cork, Fonte, Clyne, Rodriguez, Lambert, Lallana, Bertrand, Mane - are some names off the top of my head I can think of. None of those players were expected to reach the heights they did, but we provided an environment for them to.
  9. Oh yeah, true. He had an opp at the back end of the season IIRC. Can't see him hanging around though, £4m down the drain on that one.

But the same media sources are also saying deal agreed, when his father has come out and said it isn't. And also svenclaes on twitter is worth listening to.
  11. Didn't Mayuka say that he had been released at the back end of the season? I'm sure there was a post on his facebook or something, but the club never confirmed. Haven't seen him in pre-season though which is probably telling.

It's very much an If, for sure. But I've seen things happen before, player set to sign/medical etc and then he's snatched away (John Halls being one of our examples..). I personally don't even think he's had a medical though, I doubt he's even in the country.

Have they gone through all the motions though? It's been played out in the media without any proper quotes, the only 'proper' quotes we've had are from Tobys father (who is also his agent) - who says nothing is happening at the moment. What the same media people have been saying is that Tottenham want to rush the deal through before any legal wranglings can take effect, and just leave it with us and AM to sort out. They don't see themselves connected to it what so ever. So....why the delay? Why are the same media outlets now claiming they're waiting for us to settle with AM? that is surely irrelevant to them? I've said it all along, but I don't feel that this is as cut as dried as all claim. He's as likely to sign for us as he is for Spurs. Not in the know what so ever, it's just how I feel on it.
  14. I wouldn't have laughed at Villa or Sunderland if they'd have signed him.

Every single visit over the past 2/3 seasons has been utter ****.
  16. People are also discounting our ability to improve players, which we have been great at over the past years. What a player was like at club x, doesn't automatically equate to how they will be here.

Anyone close to Spurs media wise - ''It's all agreed, all positive with Spurs'' anyone remotely close to Toby, i.e his flaming father ''It's not agreed, nothing is concrete'' So much unquoted stuff as well, easily can be plucked from the air. The only quoted stuff has been from his father. I mean, the line ''He can fly home from London more easily'' is one of the pointless reasons to justify a move. I'd love to know who is feeding them, as it's not as close to the truth as people believe - IMO.
  18. Let's hope it leads to another con of a season.

    Try about 50.
  20. He's strong as hell, one of the best DM's in La Liga. Shame we didn't eye him up when he left from Rennes last season for about £4m!
  21. About 23m euro's I think.

For anyone slightly OCD....Sky Sports 1 on channel 402 is utterly irritating!!!!!!
  23. I reckon Clasie will happen, for sure. Kind of like the worst kept secret, ever. Just need to get someone to agree to pay what we want for Morgan.

Sky Sources understand that the transfer window closes at the end of August, and it's our understanding that several clubs are trying to complete deals before that deadline. More on that to come.
