Completely agree, just like last season, don't know why Wolves always wait to be behind to really start attacking us. Point is a very good result considering the chances they had (McCarthy man of the match) and we do miss Ings finishing. We're still in the title race for now, long way to go.
-
God knows how saints will manage it, especially as they've already refunded Sheff Utd game to most / all season ticket holders, now looks like first game back. I'll be putting a big bet on us to lose whichever game we first have home fans in for, you just know we will. I hope I get allocated the itchen for Liverpool game so I can try to get a selfie with Klopp and take my sign asking Salah for his shirt.

The way the bottom 4 are going we could be safe with a couple more wins. From 15th upwards in the table there's not much between sides , going to be a lot of movement in those positions each week.

Shout for keeper - Kelvin Davis Glenn Cockerill Terry Hurlock George Lawrence

That's what I was thinking. We're already 3 weeks since the injury, if it's another 4 weeks then he'll miss quite a few games. 4 weeks seems a long time if he's running already.

Still early days but this season feels like it has similarities to 2016, "big" clubs struggling to adapt to no crowds and congested fixture lists are going to drop more points than usual, makes each game hard to predict but if we can benefit from that and stay in the mix will make it exciting.
-
We've never really replaced Jeremy Pied , versatile and reliable, useful player to have , Valery could probably do with a loan to develop some confidence playing in front of crowds again once allowed back. I also get the impression that Obafemi is being overtaken by N'Dululu for first team bench. Obafemi's goals at Chelsea and Man United last season have given the impression he's a better player than he really is.

Top player for us, modern era legend , played an important role in both our European qualifications and relegation battles, been to Wembley twice. Ridiculous how he's been left out of the England squad by Southgate but that might be to our benefit in the long run.
-
Armstrong's done well there as he didn't play on Thursday at all so just one game out of 3. I wonder if that was tactical of him, surely they won't make him travel to Israel for Wednesday game?
-
I think it favours Wolves more than it does us, they have many more first team regulars away on international duty. I wouldn't be surprised if they've deliberately made us play last that weekend to prevent us going top for a while again and embarrassing the premier league global product. Having played our last game on a Friday this will a 17 day gap between fixtures, you'd have thought Ralph will give them a few days off now.
-
Walcott certainly took a few knocks in the Newcastle game, hand / arm strapped up and the challenge for what should have been a penalty. Quite lucky that we haven't got a game this week.
-
You're right away end is terrible, spread so thinly along the side ofthe pitch impossible to get much atmosphere going, we went to a cracking pub around the corner from the station but it was full by 11.30. They've got quite a few away on international duty, very little time for 1st team training before the game https://www.wolves.co.uk/news/first-team/20201110-internationals-fourteen-wolves-players-away-on-international-duty/

We'll only know for sure when the line ups are announced for the Wolves game, see if he's fit for that. Does make sense having played on the Friday give him a week off to recharge the batteries / rest the hamstring then plenty of time to prepare for the next league game. Compared to the club's in Europe our squad generally have plenty of recovery time between games, small advantage to help level the playing field.
-
Probably a good thing for us, have a proper break and don't waste time travelling around taking unnecessary risks, hopefully he'll be fit for the Wolves game. Ward-prowse is bound to be disappointed though, he would have likely got one or two more caps and there are no more internationals until March.
-
We dont actually know when this game will be as i think PPV has been scrapped so a decision needed on whether or not to televise and how. Big factor will be how many players from each squad are called up for international duty and how far away, you never know a covid scare and suddenly a few players need to isolate, Raul Jimenez is always dangerous hopefully he's gone to Mexico for a while. Wolves are one of those teams we always seem to struggle against, I can't recall many wins in the last few years, even when 2-0 up we crumbled and managed to lose last season. 1-1 draw my prediction, would be a good result.

That is tragic, the media team did a good job in fairness Friday night, they were able to ride on the surf of US election excitement and get 300k likes on a tweet but no need to bring a t-shirt out. Shame to see Eastleigh go out of the FA Cup today, if we're going to get a local minnow in the 3rd round it'll have to be Havant & Waterlooville or Portsmouth
-
James Ward-prowse and Romeu are currently the best centre midfield partnership in the division, they are everywhere and seem to pop up with a challenge just when it is needed. Protection for the defenders but get involved in plenty of attacking play, I think our success so far this season is a product of this. Great performances all over the park though, McCarthy and Walker-Peters must be wondering what they need to do to get an England call up , Che Adams superb last few games, Vestergaard looking like VVD in his prime. Good times to be a saints fan , especially pleased for the young nippers I see around wearing their saints tops, easy to be a glory hunter big 6 fan nowdays , they can go into school and be proud. Got some tough games coming up so can't see us maintaining this run , hopefully some of our top 4 rivals drop points this weekend.
-
Yes can see that. At least we don't have the full away end for it to happen in front of. Looking at the line ups that Newcastle team look perfectly set up to pick us off on the break, I'd definitely take a draw if offered now.
-
Saint Maximin is going to have fun running at whoever is played out of position, might suit us to play deeper with extra defensive player to cover and try to hit them on the break. Wilson has pace as well so no high line.
-
He's already been a first team player for 9 years , if he can keep this up there is no doubt ward prowse will be talked about as a legend, club captain, England international, if he can captain us to some silverware then don't rule out having a statue in his honour next to Ted.
-
I think those of us who have been going for years know this is inevitable, might as well make some money on it, question is go for a straight Newcastle win or better odds of the 1-0 correct score? Have we ever won on a Friday in the premier league?
-
Kick off at 7pm, can watch live on Eastleighs website for a bargain £7.99, it is a cup semi final so a proper game. Not seen the line up confirmed yet.
-
A win of any kind, however scrappy or lucky, just a win , for a fan base such as ours to look at the league table and see us in top spot would be amazing. We know it would be short lived and most likely we'll still finish the season 12th, but for those few hours whilst we were at the summit we could all revel in it. On that basis of course, we will not win this football match. Bertrand and Ings will be out, big miss, Bednarek probably as well, Saint-maximin will have fun running at us, Callum Wilson dangerous. Newcastle are a horrible team to play against, they'll sit deep and hit us on the break , we'll need the first goal to get anything. It was the last game we got to go to before Lockdown 1 and I can see a very similar game again. Hate Friday night home games, the obvious thrashing and the Bournemouth defeat are the two i can think of. A draw would be a good result.
-
Van Dijk didn't have swelling and is likely out for the season so I wouldn't say that. Just got to look at Ralph's reaction at the time and his face in the interview, can tell he fears the worst. At least the international break is coming up, we'll miss Bertrand, Ings and Bednarek next week though.
-
Looks like we'll be without Bertrand and Ings for a bit, Bednarek might have to sit out next week with a head injury as well, three of our best players no wonder team fell apart a bit , plus knock on effect changing the shape of the team with ward prowse coming out of the midfield to left back. Still a brilliant result, just hope we can take the lead next Friday and we can all take a quick screenshot showing us top of the league albeit briefly.
