  1. Looks like 7 or 8 points could be enough to stay up this season 😄
  2. Football should be used as an example of meritocracy, it’s such a results driven business clubs would employ a three headed alien if it got them results and trophies (and profit) . Ridiculous to suggest there is a racist conspiracy to keep BAME people out , even if Sol Campbell thinks so. when are we going to address lack of representation of white people in team GB sprint teams ?
  3. I don’t think we’ll win either. Pattern this season seems to be a reverse of results from last season, lose to Palace away and spurs home having beaten them last year, Everton home etc, Villa are probably due a result against us. I’ve watched them a couple of times this season and impressed with Grealish and Watkins, going to be a handful. by the time we kick off likely we'll be back down to 10th in the table which should serve as a reminder not to be complacent. A win for us however could put us in a position where a win next Friday against Newcastle could put us top.....
  4. Think a few people have had this, Definitely get the feeling they aren't keeping track of who they've paid and how much, think I'll just try to add up all the payments at the end to see if they add up to full amount paid.
  5. Where does he sit in a league of modern day saints centre backs? Similar to the £4M we splashed out on Forren? I think for now we shouldn't worry about it, let him play a few games for u23s when ready.
  6. Big clubs already moaning about players out, having two games a week every week due to Europe plus 6 international games in October/ November adding extra minutes for "elite" players. Could be a good leveller this season, stretching their resources and hopefully a much tighter division. One thing I've missed last few seasons is enjoyment from small clubs taking points off the big 6, due to our relegation battles it's been a case of supporting the big teams in our interest. Will be nice if we can stay clear of trouble to once again cheer on the underdog.
  7. Great result and performance- should have won by more really. Everton were poor, they remind me of a good but ill-disciplined South American side , lots of late dirty challenges , poor losers. Going to be a weird season, we shouldn't get carried away , but let's keep this up. Villa will fancy their chances against us next week, will hopefully help our tactics if they don't sit back.
  8. Seems odd Rodriguez was able to play the rest of the game, wouldn't surprise me if he appears still on Sunday. As mentioned elsewhere Palace were missing an entire defence and beat us 1-0 so won't read too much into this. When's Ralph's press conference?
  9. If Virgil is out for the season they'd most likely get Steven Caulker on loan again.
  10. Must be nearly the one year anniversary of the Leicester 0-9 game so expect that to be mentioned every few mins on the commentary, hopefully no repeat of that performance. I'd definitely be happy with a point , our home record is still not great, Pickford is bound to be man of the match when he should be suspended. Their midfield looks strong, hope Armstrong is available.
  11. I'd say it's too early to call, thought West ham would be in the relegation mix after first couple of games, now they're a euro contender. Just need to put a few results together and league changes quickly. Title odds will be interesting, looks like a two horse race between Everton and Aston Villa as things stand.
  12. Would be quite funny if Mike Ashley offers them money back in the form of a sports direct voucher.
  13. Generally agree but on big key point you miss off. Liverpool and United etc season ticket holders will know virtually all of their games will be shown on standard sky / BT and therefore covered by existing package cost. Last year we were only on 8 times, so for a saints fan to watch as many games live as a Liverpool fan this year we'll be paying a lot more. That doesn't seem right or fair. Only way to remedy that is for sky and BT to ensure all teams are shown the same number of times on standard package selections.
  14. Can you get BT box office if you don't already have a BT sport subscription? Assume the money raised goes into premier league pot rather than distributed to the two clubs playing in the game? Hopefully we can continue our decent away form but realistically 3-1 defeat here, Chelsea have a strong squad now but might have one eye on the champions league game on Tuesday night.
  15. Ings played well , took his goal well, pleased for him to get that recognition and can see he was buzzing, commentators trying to make it all about Calvert Lewin and Grealish though. Ward-Prowse looked steady when he came on and nearly got a goal, 4 full England caps for him now, a proper international player. With two more games this week and three more in November it provides a good chance to add to that tally.
  16. As tonight is a friendly I don't think there is any limit on the number of substitutes we can use? On that basis quite possible both Ings and Ward-Prowse will get some minutes and add to their tally of England caps. At least they are both off the one cap wonder list.
  17. Almost certainly it's a false positive, like many of them are. Also suspicious that he tested negative then the next day a "uefa" test was positive....they just happen to be playing Israel in the play offs, would be quite easy for Mossad to infiltrate the uefa testing department and rule out Scotland's best players. Anyway works in our favour I think, nice rest for a few days then be ready for Chelsea away on the 17th. (Don't think that will move to Sunday as they have champs league on the Tuesday)
  18. We probably won't see him play until well into November then knowing Saints
  19. Is he in the France u21 squad? Will be flying straight off to join up with them if he is
  20. We should really have won by more, could have been 3 or 4 up at half time with some better finishing, good chances for Bertrand, Adams and their keeper made some great saves. Can see more confidence in the side, hopefully no injuries in the international break
  21. Ridiculous, so might get some money in a couple of weeks I won't know if that is my spurs money (late) or in fact WBA money and I still need to chase for the Spurs. Poor service, the ticket always have been an amateur outfit , they're not capable of managing a process like this competently.
  22. No money received yet either, looks like I'll have to submit my case to the small claims court at this rate for breach of the Saints Promise. To be fair to the club they probably need every penny trying to club together to pay off Guido Carillo. What a mess they've made of everything, this summer we've had £35 vouchers that wouldn't work, shirts purchased for kids that within a week had the wrong sponsor, then all shirts off sale whilst they try to work it out, promising season ticket holders refunds that they seem struggling to deal with. Don't even mention the transfer window.
  23. Maybe saints can show him around town with a quick visit to Derby road to seal the deal.
  24. That seems to be the standard message on this subject, they also have no idea when the shirts will be on sale again, they seem to be completely unprepared for the sponsor disappearing and commercially the club look a complete shambles. Regarding the refunds i believe it is 1/19th we'll get back after each game behind closed doors.
  25. Jay Rodriguez has gone off injured for Burnley at Millwall tonight. One less danger man, Vydra will probably score a screamer again or Wood will bully our defence in the air. Last year we lost twice to Burnley in games that coincided with gale force winds , weather warnings for rain, what's the forecast for Turf Moor 8pm on Saturday?
