I reckon Pellegrini's agent making contact turned things on its head. Maybe Saints didn't think they could get him here. We've all got different opinions, but for me, Puel hasn't done enough to warrant being picked. His football philosophy is also at odds with 'The Southampton Way'. Pellegrini took Villareal into the Champions League and the last 4, Malaga to the last 8, City to the title and CL last 4. Of course he should be our first choice. Anyone else changed their minds on our new manager after a few weeks? My first choice is Pellegrini, although I accept this is unlikely. Second choice De Boer, wanting to build something, he could be a good long term appointment. The one I have changed my mind on is Moyes. I have read some very compelling arguments online, and would now think him a decent appointment. Top 10 league placing, would be loyal, and likes to bring youngsters through. Surprising really, a week or so ago I had a completely different opinion.
