This is the worry. It seems we agree these at fairly low sums (£25m suggested for Scienza)and perhaps look to renegotiate terms after a year. If it is the case then it’s a shame, but reverse argument is we can’t sign the player without.
  2. Impressive support yesterday but as above the range of songs could have been better. Also, impressed by the range of yellow away shirts brought out of the wardrobes after a few years. Ranging from the 80’s classics including the ‘flame effect’ , and some others (including Hummel and Pony) designs I’d forgotten existed.
  3. Many good tributes written above. Have to accept the result but today on reflection has been a number of “what ifs” … had we blocked City’s first…, had Matsuki’s shot been a few inches to either side of Trafford at 1-1…. Never thought that this was our year as such, but when we scored it seemed the dream was within touching distance. But not to be. At least we came away yesterday, losing to a good goal and giving a good performance, not a midget getting on the end of a last minute bounce, or a non-appearance (as in 1984 and 2018).

    Good find and read. Thanks
  5. Who drops out to accommodate the three of them ?
  6. Me too, now. What could go wrong tomorrow with this then ?
  7. Have the QR codes start arriving yet ?
  8. Bet Pep didn’t tell us about Rodri, then put on a sorrowful expression complaining they’re down to the ‘bare bones’ though.
  9. Personally I think the opposite. A full neutral venue is better and provides a more electric atmosphere than a two thirds Wembley. We've got better stadiums now than we’ve had since the change of stadium requirements (Spurs, Emirates, Etihad, Millennium Stadium). Should be using them in my book.
  10. Perhaps just Pep media shit in the hope we buy it. Then they put out a full first team. Not that their second or third team wouldn’t be a formidable line up.
  11. Probably got a massive % sell on or discount in there. Was the deal done under Wilcox (or Shields?) watch ? Perhaps we’ll end up owing City money to take him. (Too much to expect we’d persuade them to take Bazunu as part of the deal as well I suppose).
  12. Perhaps tomorrow is his ‘coming of age’ then
  13. Golden opportunity to play v his old club and show his worth tomorrow. Agree with some of above comments re the MF selection though. On paper I’d have thought Downes-Charles the best pairing, yet it seems to lack something and the combination is less than the sum of its parts should be. Wonder why. Are they too alike ?

    Flynn Downes

It’s a loss that he isn’t available but don’t forget he didn’t play v Arsenal. We’ve still got good options in Charles, Jander and possibly Bragg* who all now have a great opportunity to step up.** * don’t tell SaintRoyally **and unfortunately put themselves in a shop window.

Not if he’s sent off in the play off semifinal he won’t be.
  16. Another story is that Atletico Madrid (and possibly Bilbao) took their red and white stripes from material that was used to make mattress covers.
  17. Yes, far better it’s left to proper experts like Rasmus to see us relegated again.
  18. Not sure that’s the case. She was photographed at Pompey in January for what was a game she might have chosen to avoid (in their primitive surroundings). This at a time when premier league return was far from likely. You could say the timing of her visible return coincided with an upturn in our fortunes. Perhaps purely coincidental.
  19. On the topic of bookings I was surprised Archer wasn't booked for his celebration and taking his shirt off. Or isn't that bookable in the Championship ? (Remember the Liverpool payer getting a second yellow for it in the League Cup match there).
  20. Agree with you. but its a thin dividing line between that and a straight red depending on how things spiral. Yesterday from the highlights looked close to sparking a brawl, and I think it was Downes against Charlton who I thought was fortunate after he seemed to lean his head in on the Charlton player. I can live with the bookings for the tackles etc, but don't like seeing them picked up for dissent, which I think Downes has on a couple of occasions.
  21. Millwall manager previously managed Stoke. Hope that helps fire up Stoke on Tuesday.
  22. We’re not going to win every game, and the WBA was a below par performance that we salvaged something from. Skates.. shame we didn’t win, but it’s a grudge match and derby so form goes out the window. And the fixture was shortly after a poor run of form. The draw was accepted by most after the game. Charlton - I came away from that game reasonably impressed by the performance and effort put in. A complete contrast to the feeling after Rotherham at home, and Huddersfield away.
  23. Reading the report of their game v Norwich yesterday I see that they’ve got that nasty little bastard Morsy playing for them.
  24. Perhaps splitting hairs, but do they go to an email account, or directly to an App?
  25. Agree their GK pulled off some good saves (although seemingly not good enough for us to spend £900,000 on him, even as back up). What rattled me and many supporters was the needless passing around between THB, Bednarek, Bazunu etc when 1-0 up rather than going for it. Of course the inevitable happened. Whether their player scores another one like it. Who knows ? Perhaps he’ll be lucky enough to have a GK marooned well off his line with another speculative shot again his career.
