  1. Possible as his manager at Watford,Brendan Rogers, is now at Reading
  2. Are hairstyles now the new earlobes ?
  3. I think we should have signed ex-Bournemouth player Joe Couiffure
  4. I too heard that and agree with your conclusion about him,but as I say in my original post the 'problem' may be perceived rather than actual. Wasn't he a column writer in a broadsheet,or had a blog which gave him an element of "status",perhaps enhancing the fear about his ego etc ? Go back to my conclusion on it though,he would be a good addition in my view.
  5. Who does Mo Hican play for now ?
  6. Goes along with the comment about trimming the squad.
  7. Surprised we have not been linked with Moustachea Hadji.
  8. Think the following answer your questions. Sun article : This emphasises what a cesspit society parts of Britain have become. The scrubber stands by her boyfriend who has maimed her brother, possibly causing the end of his career and the loss of a limb. No doubt the Taxpayer will have to fund yet another little bastard, whilst his father is also housed for a few years also paid for from the same source. Although memories of Davenport in his Saints era are not favourable, I would not wish this on him and hope he makes a sound recovery and is able to resume his career (to maintain his crap levels he showed for us at least).
  9. My suspicion is that he has there is either a perceived ,or actual, problem with his ego ie thinks he warrants a higher £ than his skill level. Personally I think he would be a good addition, frequently take the place of the ageing and injury prone Murty as much as to work with him on the right.
  10. Is that not Mrs Cortese ? Why the "equestrian" reference ? Its not Christina Lebherr.
  11. How many mythical stabbings - or murders that won't make the Echo - were there ?
  12. Who signed him for West Ham ?
  13. Isn't MS a creative MF though ? I think we lack a midfield organiser - in the Oakley mould- or a ballwinning battler.I know many see Gillett in this role but I'm not so sure of his pedigree to do this through the season.
  14. Agree about the CB situation. In midfield,I see Schneiderlin - if he remains injury free of course - as our creative player, and a more combative player alongside him would release him more. Not sure another "playmaker" or such with him(such as Racon perhaps),would aid him or the team.Remember Lawries classic "violinists and roadsweeper" comment years ago. As for anywhere else, I'd like another striker option ie Craddock to come in and develop.
  15. Think it has to be BWP.
  16. At the start of last season it was suggested that the spiderman theme tune be used for Shneiderlin .Something along the lines of : Schneiderlin,Schneiderlin He does more than Wesley Sneider can ..
  17. Neither.Don't need Picnic or Lambert. Eugene Bopp is the player we've been crying out for.
  18. So we can afford to sign one more. Remember Shankly's advice "you can't have more than three Scotsmen in the same team;any more than that and you have got trouble."
  19. Prior to his injuries Oakley was one of the most effective midfielders in the prem under both Hoddle and WGS. I would have Oakley back now like a shot.
  20. Undoubtedly one of the most skillful players in the division. Its really a matter of whether he can impose himself on games and have an impact at this level.I hope he matures quickly and does not dissolve into what many suspect of a stereotypical 'fancy dan, Johnny Foreigner type' who bruises easily and disappears from matches.

    Lambert

I spoke to a Rovers supporter a couple of weeks ago and the conversation inevitably came around to that game in the cup and Lambert. His view was that Lambert is not merely a goalscorer, but has a great first touch, control and vision. He is not just a penalty area striker.
  22. Seem to remember it was towards the end of 1973/4 season during the midst of a relegation struggle.
  23. Was there a suggestion he was working for Saints now then ?
  24. DC Webb on The Bill.
  25. I follow your logic and the appointment of someone possibly WGS is plausible. My concern though is whether such an appointment would sit comfortably with AP.Would he not feel uneasy at having a high profile person sitting between him and the board ? As someone wrote on another thread a few weeks ago,the DOF role has worked well at Reading, because very few people have heard of Nicky Hammond .This has enabled their manager to manage without being inhibited by someone elses shadow. As good as WGS was for us until 2003 our future is, for the timebeing anyway, in AP's hands.
