You're the one being soft. Top 5, come on you're having a laugh. Off the top of my head after a dozen Bishops Tipple's I can name 20 better the past 40 years .

It was showing as sold out this morning , but this afternoon it wasn't . I presume it's season tickets being sold back to the club so it's worth it to keep checking because they'll be a lot of ST holders away this time of year Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Lol , lord King " just expressing an opinion" , not based on facts. What's your " dumbest decision " based on? Personally, I'll take lord kings opinion over yours

Don't talk rubbish man. There's hardly anything between them ,to say he's nowhere near as good is just showing your bias. You say carraghar picked him in his team of the season so far, well last April he called Toby the best defender in the league ( a title he's given to a Chelsea player this season not VvD). Had Toby been fit all season, maybe he'd have made the team . Both are extremely good players, to say one is nowhere near as good as the other is nonsense.

Funny how we choose the hero's & vilians isn't it. We have a skate thread which contains posts about their hero to vilians , yet were exactly the same. Lovren throws his toys out of the pram and gets a move. He's a right c###. Morgan throws his toys out of the pram , way worse even twitting about it, but is made to stay and he's a hero. Had Saints given in to his demands , he'd now be a c####. But because we made his stay against his will, he's a hero. Weird.

I agree £13mil for one of the best midfielders in the country would be a no brainer. Unfortunately the best aren't available. MS is ,and he's far from being one of the best, hence why he's available for £13 mil. I wouldn't touch him with a barge pole. He's always been overrated on here and I've seen nothing the past 2 years to justify taking him back on considerably more money than he got before.Interesting that none of the top sides are interested, including Poch who knows him better than most.

Talk about red & white glasses. There's not much between them , but Toby receives rave reviews from neutrals. He's been injured this season that's the only reason he's not getting much publicity lately, nothing to do with VvD making him making him "not look close to as good as he once did ". Toby can play in midfield & full back & doesn't switch off like VvD does occasionally . I reckon if you took 100 neutrals 50 would pick Toby & 50 VvD ( I would choose Toby btw) , certainly nothing as overwhelming as your post suggest.Hes certainly not considered the best centre half in the league by everyone .

Terrorist Attacks - WARNING: CONTAINS DISTRESSING IMAGES
Lord Duckhunter replied to sadoldgit's topic in The Lounge
The mainstream moderate Western Europeans are totally different from mainstream moderate Muslims. If a Western European had the views of moderate Muslims, they would be called an extremist. You only have to look at pictures of labour politicians addressing segregated Muslim audiences, to see exactly what I'm talking about. -
Terrorist Attacks - WARNING: CONTAINS DISTRESSING IMAGES
Lord Duckhunter replied to sadoldgit's topic in The Lounge
It's a miracle nothing's happened for a few years. There will be an attack killing dozens (if we're lucky)and it will be by a Muslim. It is quite remarkable the job the security services perform because the lack of an attavk is not down to lack of effort or will from these Muslims. The elephant in the room is "moderate Islam ". A medieval religion where sexes are separated , their chicks walk around covered from head to toe , you cant take the mick out of their prophet, or even draw him FFS. Many of them want Sharia law, hate Jews & hate us and all we stand for. Yet they're a lot safer in our country than Christians are in theirs. It's 2017 FFS, why aren't these people condemned , why are they allowed to treat women, gays & non believers like they do? Here's a simple fact lefties on here won't like. The more Muslims we let in, the more divided the country will become & the more unsafe we will be. You wouldn't let White American KKK folk in, why are people who don't want to respect our values allowed in. -
Can't we just embrace the Bournemouth rivalry?
Lord Duckhunter replied to Bad Wolf's topic in The Saints
My old man was born in 1936 in Boscombe & moved to Southampton in 1962. Even though he now lives in Dorset, he's still a Hampshire man. -

Can't we just embrace the Bournemouth rivalry?
Lord Duckhunter replied to Bad Wolf's topic in The Saints
My old man was born in Boscombe and he considers himself a Hants man. -
Just got home now ( how nice it is to sat at home glass of wine in hand within an hour of away game finish). Second half, different class. Davo superb , changed the whole shape of the game . Special mention for PEH , to perform that well second half after a poor first half ( and our supporters were twts for cheering a sucsesfiul pass) shows some mental toughness . But the whole day belongs to JRod , all round performance was great .

Puel so far, not a good fit for saints? or the man to take us forward?
Lord Duckhunter replied to Mr X's topic in The Saints
I can't see too many managers given Shane Long,a post injury JRod, JWP, Davo,Redmond & Classie would do much better than Claude has done, certainly not Ronald Koeman. Just look at their career records and then ask yourself why we're not scoring goals. With the tools he's been given,he's doing a pretty good job. -
It may do because we have to put up with " papered over the cracks " , wouldn't have won if we didn't score " " they were poor " & the classic " had Gaston been fit". 1-0's aren't good enough now, we need to play free flowing exciting football. Forget Boros decent away record , we should be ****ing nurdering them, Puel out

Is our style of play really that different?
Lord Duckhunter replied to verlaine1979's topic in The Saints
Our style now is nothing like it was under Poch, but neither was Koemans. Personally I thought Koeman relied on Pelle too much, until he was forced to leave him out & Long came good. Having witnessed some woeful away performances under Ron, I'd say the away style was pretty much the same as now. However, our home style was more positive, faster and on the front foot. The question is would Puels home form be better with Mane & Pelle instead of Redmond & Austin. We will never know, but there's no doubt Puel has a weaker set of players to call on. I would put Poch's style head and shoulders above both Koeman & Puel's. Personally I don't mind Puels style and think he'll come good . We may not see the barnstorming home performances that we did under Ron, but overall I think we'll see more youngsters and I think he'll make them tactically better than Ron would -
There's release clauses and then there's releases clauses, as we found out with Toby at Spurs. Mirror reports a clause and claim they've seen a copy of his contract , Spurs deny it. Turns out the truth is somewhere in between with the clause not kicking in till 2018. Same with Suarez's infamous clause. Arsenal wanted him,bid £1 over his clause , he wanted to go. Why didn't he sign then, my understanding was that the clause was so vague that Liverpool claim it just meant he could talk to clubs who met it, but not neccesarily sign for them. I'd guess VvD's "clause" is somewhere in the middle. I don't think it was made up, but I can't believe we'd be stupid enough to insert or agree to a clause that means he can bugger of this Jan or even next summer. My guess would be that he has a "Toby" clause that kicks in the summer his original contract ended, or maybe the summer before . Anything else doesn't make sense.

It's a bit misleading because we've had to spend big just to replace the players that have left. And that spend has been recent. If Arsenal have to replace Sanchez & Ozil next season they'll have to spend big but because prices have gone up that bigger spend won't mean better players than those 2.Surely the figure we should be looking at is net spend, or a better measure is wage bill

Cedric is getting better & better. Now he's got used to the physicality of the English game he could turn out to be just as good as Clyne

How are we doing in the domestic cups?

Interesting that Le Tiss has just said on Soccer Saturday that there's more to this than meets the eye. That he's heard Jose hasn't acted like a captain behind the scenes . Said he's telling half truths on social media and may have had his head turned. Phil Thompson said " he has had his head turned, offers have been made".
