But if you're not giving the VvD one , you shouldn't be giving that one. He was poor both ways , even giving us soft free kicks . I thought we were pretty decent first half and the start of the second . The only time we were poor was when the game was already won . The difference this week was balance and people playing in the right positions . Having 2 full backs bombing forward , particularly RB ( who was my MoM for playing like that after a long time out) , made all the difference . As well as he's done lately Targett is just not that sort of full back . And Maya even a week later it's still , WTF Ron . Had we played that team last week , we'd have beaten those Manc twts. There's obviously still more to come , both Tadic and Mane can still produce more IMO , and JRod can only get better . With Classie still to come in and JWP starting to look like a proper player , I'm pretty optimistic tonight .

I think him and Cedric are perfect wing backs and VvD looks like he's comfortable as the " spare" man at the back , Jose can defo play in a 3 and with a bit of drilling and practise in sure caulker or maya could do so as well . A 3-5-2 would free up Mane to get closer to pelle and play off the big man . The other disappointment for me is the lack of game time Juanmi is getting , heard some great things about him from Malaga supporters in the summer , but doesn't get a look in . Early days, but even if he's not quite ready for the pace and power of the English game and needs to get used to it , he's not going to do that sat on the bench . I don't think Maggie kept her " dogma" well hidden , I think she used the shambles on the left to become more radical than she ever thought possible in '79. Had labour stayed together under Owen or Healy I'm sure she would have governed more from the centre, and not been so radical. This is a great opportunity for Call me Dave to do the same , but I doubt he will. He take the Blair approach which is to use the weakness of his opponent's to pinch the centre ground , to attract their " soft" voters. It may win elections, as Blair did, but ultimately you end up disappointed.
