  1. Were there or were there not several threads all talking about the same thing? I'll answer.... yes there were. Good modding.
  2. I wouldn't bother for £40 - it's not worth nearly twice a league match to me.
  3. What is annoying is that we are bound to get one of the "star" refs who is on first name terms with all of their players but considers himself above us. Mike Riley did United proud the last time we played them.
  4. I don't think so. They may put out a weakened side and, even if they don't, they really are nothing special at the moment IMO (with the exception of Nani). Obviously if the likes of Rooney and Berbatov play and decide to play well they should be able to cause us damage but equally I can see Saints scoring against a back 4 including the likes of Evans, Rafael, Smalling... If the back 4 includes Ferdinand, Vidic and Evra things may be a little harder! The key battle will be in midfield and it'll be interesting to see how we line up. We are probably one of the best ever third tier sides and we are probably better than several sides in the Championship. If we catch them on a slightly off day and play well I honestly think we can win this one.
  5. Owen looked sharp today.
  6. He'll just hack him once and concede a free-kick. Hack him a second time and get booked. Then hack him again as often as he wants and nothing will happen.
  7. But several of us have explained to you why it is irrelevant and there were several threads on basically the same subject.
  8. Sorry, I was making a joke that was predicated on a confusion between "1/2" meaning "1 or 2" and "1/2" meaning "one half". I thought it was fairly obvious as no one attends "half a game" and so didn't need a winky. Apologies if I have caused you to spend a fiver unnecessarily!
  9. Can I nick it? Yes, you can! Can I nick it? Yes, you can.
  10. Yes, I know what you mean. Ever since the Cup Final I have always been fortunate enough to delegate my ticket purchasing responsibilities to a mate and consider anything which prevents me from obtaining a ticket for any match I choose at a price convenient to me to be something of a disgrace.
  11. Eh? Do you want means-tested ticket prices? Penalise the richer fans? WTF? You don't pay less for a loaf of bread in Tesco if you're skint.
  12. I don't really see why ST's should get a "plus one". It's a gesture of thanks by the club when it happens but there's no sensible principle behind it.
  13. Half a game a month? Pathetic.
  14. I'm sure it will be "database only" but I expect after ST holders have been provided for it will be general sale.
  15. And the notion that Man U will agree to £15 or that the FA's arbitration panel will agree to £15 (the minimum permissible amount) for a game that is likely to attract a 30k+ sell-out is clearly nonsense.
  16. Yes, that would be a fair structure IMO.
  17. No he isn't. It's quite simple. Shrewsbury match = supply capacity way outstripping demand, therefore high prices are artificial and punitive and tantamount to a rip-off. Man U match = demand way outstripping supply capacity, therefore natural price rises.
  18. What guff. Shresbury wanted to charge high prices for a match that hardly anyone gave a toss about. They wanted to squeeze the maximum out of the small number of people who wanted to go. Demand for this will be far in excess of capacity and therefore it is only right that the prices go up. No hypocrisy at all.
  19. I'm sure there will be. In case it has escaped people's notice, the last few rounds were hardly massively in demand. In fact, I wouldn't be surprised if ST holders were allowed a "plus one".
  20. Given that league matches are a minimum of £22 for a standard adult it's hard to complain if this match is nearer £30.
  21. Minimum price allowed is £15 but I can't see United agreeing to that.
  22. We only have 3 matches in the intervening period and the last one of those is a week before so I wouldn't worry too much about the run up. We do have Exeter away on the following Tuesday though.
  23. I think that's the key. If United start to win easily they will probably take their foot off the gas so I can't see a demoralising thrashing on the cards. We are much better than the last time we played them and they are pretty average right now.
  24. Jesus Christ! Add in Mike "useless ****" Riley's red card and dubious penalty and it's a miracle we didn't ship more goals.
