  1. I think so. He only turned 30 last week. Again. Is Lawrence still working in their ticket office?
  2. When I was a postdoc at Dundee I wrote him a letter thanking him for doing a great job as manager, but mentioned a big weakness at the back (Kevin Bond's position - hint, hint). I suggested he look at a Dundee defender (captain there) who I suggested would do a better job. He took the time to write back saying he'd sent a scout to have a look but he (the scout) didn't think the player was any better. I was surprised he had taken the time to write back a nice reply, and even more surprised he'd sent out a scout. Top bloke.
  3. Agreed. I think we should give him one full game playing at CB, before we write him off completely.
  4. .... for the skates.
  5. Don't worry, the Skates have a 2019 version of their team.
  6. Hmm, I wonder if Ralph has recently developed a taste for whisky?
  7. Agree with all of that except Bednarek has been playing well and doesn't deserve to be dropped, and apart from the United match Vestergaard's been pretty awful.
  8. Today we certainly can. Whatever's going on with you and Bertie, Ralph, FFS kiss and make up.
  9. Agreed. At kick off. After that, who knows.
  10. I always find it amusing the way some people try to lump Claude (8th in the league and scintillating cup final, all with a squad stripped of Pelle, Mane, Fonte and VW) in with the Clown and the Dinosaur.
  11. Remember when they were planning to build a huge one?
  12. Or 9 draws. I'm hoping for the 3 wins, and that we get them early. That way we can sit back and relax for the rest of the season.
  13. But it's a nice problem to have, isn't it? This match has 4-4 written all over it.
  14. Yes, that's why I thought loaning him out last January was an unnecessary gamble. Anyway, all's well that ends well.
  15. Beginning to work very well. Especially today A complete cluster**** at the women's world cup, but that was a blessing in disguise as the PL learnt from that and are using it properly. In particular making the decisions as quick and non intrusive as possible.
  16. Romeu, Bednarek, Gunn very good. Boufal, Adam's, Djenepo, Cedric, Yoshi good. Vestergaard nightmare, but I have sympathy: he should be nowhere near left back.
  17. In fairness he was right, the donkey still does have a part to play at Saints. Draining about £20K per week from the payroll while on loan, along with installment payments on the £19M fee.
  18. That is a nasty run of fixtures. But if we can scrape 5 or 6 points from them (and 4 from the next 2) we'll emerge with 13 or 14 points from our first 13 matches, having played all of the big 6. It'll be all smooth sailing after that!
  19. Those slagging off Cedric for the goal ignore that it was a world class strike. It's not like he made a terrible back pass that let a player run in one on one with the goalie, or some other blunder. And some of his crosses into the box were very good. Certainly much better than he usually does. He played ok, and is a good back up/alternative to Valery.
  20. Most of us predicted that. I can only think of 4 people who would slate you for that, Reed, the clown, the donkey himself, and his mum.
  21. Vestergaard mom, even without the goal. Superb. Best match for us I reckon. Romeu very good too. Adam’s crap. Hoj poor. Cedric good, and even put in some decent crosses. Danso’s second yellow: stupid, stupid, moronic. Hopefully he’ll learn like Vallery did.
  22. Yes, the 4-1 was awful, but we beat them twice that season (once under Wigley in the league, and knocked them out of the cup under Saggy). So we actually did better against them during that terrible season than against most other teams.
