8 game tenure when after 4 games it was clear to everyone and their dog he was out of his depth. So yes his sacking was much too late. They also spent tens on millions on players for his style, then sacked him shortly after. They could’ve used the window for a new manager. We lost a number of winnable games because of that. DM is a useless replacement who has a worse record than the aforementioned Jones. And his record prior to his hire has mediocre at best, with all his teams having terrible defensive records. And Wilcox was a major decision maker in that appointment (along with Rasmus I believe, although others disagree on that). So yes, he was clueless too. And how are Utd doing with Wilcox?
-
You’d have thought that after they finally belatedly got rid of Jones. But they promoted another out of his depth replacement in Selles (not to mention his useless replacement we have now). We don’t even have a proper Wilcox replacement (who himself was clueless). Basically we’re f*cked with the current clowns in charge.

There are only 20 managerial jobs available in the richest league on the planet so we should be able to bring in someone solid and experienced. Palace successfully did it with Roy on a rolling contract when they sensibly got rid of de Boer after his short disastrous 4 game start a few years back.
-
I hope not. TP looks ten times the player he is.
-
They could sack him now and rename it the Russell Martin XI Memorial game.
-
Unfortunately negligence is their trademark.
-
Alcaraz I'd agree. ABK the jury's still out. You won't agree, but there's no excuse for the way RM has been treating TP. We've been crying out for a target man who can hold the ball up, and since SR didn't bring someone in he is our only option (Stewart has shown nothing so far and is a sick note anyway).
-
You still think TP's as bad as the Donkey?
-
You mean possession?

Lose heavily tomorrow, and lose at home to Leicester, and then I think the fans will be giving him rather strong "opinions" from the stands which will be hard for him to find irrelevant.
-
Wow, I agree with Mack!
-
I didn’t say I didn’t believe you. And it’s clear Wilcox was 100% on board with RM. But what I want to know was it 100% Wilcox’s choice or was their input from others. The fact that Ankersen was with Goztepe didn’t stop him being involved here too. He certainly is now if leaks are true that it’s him that’s backing RM to continue against the wishes of others on the board.
-
No I don't, where did I claim that? It was my opinion, based on circumstantial evidence. On the other hand @ErwinK1961 was claiming it was Wilcox's alone as a fact. That may be true, but I am asking for evidence. You don't believe what I say and believe that "you are determined to pretend something different to make your own shitty point"? Fine, you're entitled to your shitty opinion.
-
So I assume you mean you spoke to Wilcox personally. Did he explicitly say hiring RM was his idea alone, with no input from Rasmus or anyone else?
-
I’d bring in someone experienced on a rolling one year contact, with a huge bonus if he keeps us up. Just like what Roy did a few years ago after Palace’s disastrous start under a disastrous manager. They lost the first 7 but finished 11th. It won’t happen with us of course as long as Ankersen is calling the shots.
-
That’s a bit harsh Lord D. I reckon the first team would improve.
-
They have no metrics. Remember these are the clowns (led by their ringmaster Rasmus F*cking Ankersen) who hired Nathan Bloody Jones, took forever to sack him, and then replaced him with an amateur Selles.
-
If we are going to lose one could argue that a cricket score may be best if it forces SR's hand to pull the trigger now on RM, rather than waiting until we are miles adrift. If it's double digits surely not even Ankersen will be able to spin it to keep him on any longer. As an added bonus maybe it'll finally wake up Dragan to the fact that the lunatics are in charge of the asylum.
-
I said it before and I’ll say it again, Wilcox may have agreed and been put forward as the public face of the decision, but the choice of RM has Ankersen’s fingerprints all over it. Another of his insane decisions that he thinks is genius. So it doesn’t surprise me that that charlatan is the one who is stubbornly backing another of his failed managers, even though anyone with half a brain can see he’s completely out of his depth. It’s the Nathan Jones debacle all over again. Dragan, do something FFS!
-
I was hoping it was delayed because they had inside information and wanted to be able to discuss RM's sacking and replacement.
-
Goal difference could be key for them pipping City, so the more the merrier for them. So if they can get into double digits it would be massive for them in that regard, as well as hopefully giving Rasmus F*cking Ankersen and his SR muppets no choice but to pull the trigger on another of their disastrous managers. As they say, a win-win for both clubs. At least until Ankersen/SR choose another hipster loser.
-
We can laugh but that’s actually scarily close to being true.

After de Boer was sacked after losing the first four matches Palace brought in Roy, who guided them to 11th. I wouldn't complain if he was brought in on a rolling contract, if he was available. Oh wait, he is.
