  1. Yes, but doesn't look a day over 90.
  2. When it comes to running football the Dutch have been ahead of England for decades now.
  3. I doubt it. He was a great player, but he's too old and fat now.
  4. How many disallowed goals are there on average per match? Less than 1. Ditto controversial penalties. Also, as in other (more enlightened) sports (like hockey) they allow the coach/manager a limited number of video queries per game. So apart from disallowed goals, and penalties, give each manager 1 or 2 (maximum) video review requests. It would not add up to much interruption, and any (short) time used would be included in time added on. There are plenty of stoppages for injuries, free-kicks etc. so adding one or two video reviews wouldn't make much difference.
  5. Yes that's true, everyone is entitled to their opinion. Even if it's complete bollocks.
  6. Ryan Betrand, standing behind Gabbiadini, was in an offside position, but how the assistant referee got such a key decision so hopelessly wrong, only he knows. Surely the time has come for video technology to be introduced to ensure such blatant mistakes are not allowed to happen. Yes indeed.
  7. EAST SIDE = 23 miles on the M27
  8. Don't forget the lino.
  9. Now that we have a clinical striker we will. That's what's been missing until recently. And for those criticising Claude for taking Gabbi off, he was obviously knackered.
  10. When are the football authorities going to drag themselves into the 21st century and use video technology for key decisions, such as disallowing perfectly goals?
  11. A few maybe, but most didn't last long. We had to endure Benali for 16 years. In fairness though, if we'd had a decent left back then we possibly wouldn't have had the excitement of half a dozen great escapes.
  12. Most overrated Saints mistress ever.
  13. Yes, and actually it's exactly the same as (most of us) wanting Utd to win the cup last year, so I don't understand the point of this thread. I wouldn't expect him to want us to win and him lose out on Europe, just because he has a soft spot for us.
  14. Maybe, maybe not. After just winning the league the players' agents may have been able to negotiate having no such clause. It's only in the club's interests to have one, not the players'.
  15. Two wrongs don't make a right. Anyway, Ranieri's sacking is wronger. Huge difference. Chelsea are expected to finish in the top four every season. I'm not saying the sacking of the "Special One" was right, but it was a lot more understandable compared to what Ranieri achieved with Leicester. The greatest sporting achievement in history IMO. The Leicester owner/board made a similar head-scratching decision to sack Pearson, not half way through the season when they were crap, but after they recovered and had a fantastic run in the second half of that season. At the time it seemed madness, but in hindsight they seemed to have played a blinder. Maybe they are playing a blinder again. Or maybe they were just lucky with the Pearson decision, and don't have a clue.
  16. From the Foxes forum "Remember when everyone though Pearson was sacked and then we went on that great run when he hadn't, maybe we are trying to repeat the trick " Interesting theory!
  17. Not Saints related, but if true this is utter madness. One of the worst sackings ever.
  18. Super fit or not, I am scratching my head why he even played 1 minute. Not that I'm complaining.
  19. Sutton boss Paul Doswell echoed his counterpart's sentiments and declared his happiness with the hosts' display. "Five letters - proud," he said. "One of my little goals was to do better than Southampton and we have done that. "They lost 5-0 to them and we lost 2-0 so in my mind that's a moral victory." Ah, bless 'em. Hopefully they'll be cheering us on at Wembley on Sunday.
  20. http://www.mirror.co.uk/sport/football/news/manchester-united-play-second-leg-9443689 "The proximity of the clubs means that one game had to be brought forward" It's not Dundee and Dundee Utd FFS. The stadia are over 40 miles apart.
  21. Unlike the St Etienne first leg, the result doesn't really matter today. Unless by fight you mean a mass brawl with 4 Utd players being sent off (including the Zlatan who's on the bench)
  22. They have? If it had been us you can bet that wouldn't happen.
  23. I notice Gabbi does this. It makes me wince.
