  1. Buy online - I got Cov tickets 4 days before they went on general sale because they were opened up online early.............
  2. Is the "Wotsit" chant any worse than the "Legwarmers" chant at Birmingham - in the cold light of day both are a bit pathetic, but I enjoyed them both and I look forward to the next occasion when I can sing something stupid about the opposition goalie!!
  3. You Fat Wotsit! aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaahhhhhh!
  4. I chanted it and I enjoyed it, sorry to offend the "uber fans". It was all a bit of good banter - not unusual at a football match.
  5. That was a very determined and professional performance from Saints last night. We tore them a new one in the first 10 mins and looked very comfortable throughout most of the game. It was inevitable that Posh would see more of the ball at some stage and they put us under a lot of pressure for the last 20 mins. When they scored I thought it had been diallowed us the Boro fans started to cheer then went immediatley silent - it was the most muted goal celebration I've seen. It's difficult to single out palyers when this was a team effort. For me Cork cuaght my eye the most - he's a class act. I thought the terrace support was excellent last night - almost continuous singing - what more can the fans do (q for those fans who said it wasn't special)?
  6. Bender - Wish I'd known this earlier - we're going by train from 3 bridges!!! We could have shared the drive / petrol.
  7. Yes - it's called Charters, it's only about 5 mins from the ground. Last year it was rammed with both Saints and Posh, with a good atmosphere, but for many fans drinking we done on the river bank and not on the barge.
  8. 12.00's a bit early for me, but we'll be there!
  9. I was shocked by the mess exodus of Spurs fans before the end of their FA cup semi-final. It looked like 80% of them had left with at least 5 mins of normal time to play. I started singing, "Is there a fire drill?". Would you leave if that was Saints getting beat by Chelsea?? I wouldn't.
  10. I was in block 3 and from where i was block 4 was not rocking!
  11. I was in the Itchen last night - block 3 (first time I've stood there - normally in the Northam / Kingsland). I only heard the Northam / Kingsland once or twice and was generally disappointed like the OP that we all couldn't make more noise than we did. I'm back to advocating the full Northem end for singers and stuff the away fans in a corner. I don't mind people doing next to nothing to support their team, they bought the ticket so that's their right, but I'd like to avoid sitting next to them.
  12. Thanks BrettskiPUFC! What time does the Cherry tree open? I'm still debating whether to arrive mid-afternoon and settle down for a few early beers or play it safe and arrive at 18.30 for one quick beer before the game.
  13. Last year we started in the Brewery Tap - very civilised and brew their own ales - and then ended up on Charters, which had a good atmosphere (porobably becuase it was near the ground and was rammed full of fans!). Beer was also good there. I'd recommend either, but if you're claustrophobic you may find Charters a bit too much after an hour.
  14. Not funny, last time i saw that Video clip it was for Tottenham beating Arsenal - unoriginal, let's move on..............
  15. Great display - Palace weren't brilliant but they weren't pushovers either. We won this game through our own endeavours. It's a bit disingenuous to suggest they let us win.
  16. He played well and linked up well with Rickie and with Butterfield, but as said above Palace didn't look like they wanted to win this game (but looking at their programme it seems they are going through a bad patch at the moment).
  17. When I drove past the Pompey buses on the M27 they were all asleep, the poor dears ! Didn't see any broken windows
  18. I thought Cork had a good game....
  19. We were 2-1 up with 2-3 minutes to go and Guly was not on the pitch and yet Pompey scored. I'm sure this can be blamed on Guly as well. He may not have had a good game yesterday, but wtf were the team doing ??? Is there nobody else that should be singled out for blame ???
  20. This skate businessman, he didn't answer to the name of Baldrick did he? His plan is so cunning he must be related!
  21. Cheap away day tickets put me at Norwood, so I'm going to try Weatherspoons (William Stanley) and / or another pub nearby. My research has turned up the Alliance and the Jolly Sailor, both on the high street near Weatherspoons - if not them then the Ship (which seems to have a good rating from the site i was on) - it's also on the high street, but in the opposite direction from the stadium but not not far.
  22. I've been banging on so much about us this season that the family sat down to watch the game with me - I think they all left after the second goal. They kept popping back intot he room, watching for 30 seconds and left again, saying "No change then !"
  23. He just seems to be one of those players that people either love or hate. Whenever I've seen him play he's been OK, but he doesn't have a stand out charateristic that fans know they are going to get from him and thus endear himself to them. Like Lallana (can dribble), Chaplow (runs like crazy), spiderman (confidence on the ball, moves us forward), etc, so when he's on the puitch you are not quite sure what he's going to do and how he will effect the team and the performance. What I don't understand about him is that he's a Brazilian but he doesn't seem to like to take on players, to use his feet to go around players, he always seems to opt for the square ball. I thought these guys spent hours learning how to dribble and trick their way past people? I'd like to see this from Guly.
  24. I was in the Chapel for the FA cup game against P and wasn't expecting much - but the atmosphere was electric. There were two old grannies just in front of me, so I was thinking about minding my language, but no sooner had I thought this they were up on their feet shouting abuse at the skates. Don't worry everyone knows this is the one we want to win, the whole ground will be up for it!
