  1. He may well be a poor GK but surely quesstions should be asked why the club invested a large fee for him
  2. Yes I think you are right it is going to take time to build a good squad but feel £30m wasted on three players
  3. So what We have a much better team than Wigan but I doubt whether Sunderland will win the Cup but as we are as good as Man City we possibly could
  4. Yes I agree but the club want to be as high as possible in the League
  5. These days the PL is just based on money clubs want to get the highest position they can achieve to get as much money as possible. A Club like Southamption is very unlikely to get to the Champions League but could win a Cup which as a fan I think would be great but not to the powers that matter at SFC where League Position is paramount. I still think one of the best days of my life was when we won the Cup in 1976
  6. I totally agree with you but I dont expect him to go
  7. Like you probably I have no idea of the facts about QPR's move to Old Oak but they have a huge catchment area in NW London and if they think it is a good idea then we should leave it to them
  8. We will be in the top 10 which is very good we just cannot compete with the big City Clubs from London Manchester and Liverpool but Newcastle have done well this seasonk
  9. Good Result Good Season nothing more to say
  10. I think his point is proved with Shearer Bale Bridge Walcott and OXO I wonder which of our current young players will move which I am sure they will if they want to win trophies
  11. I agree in what you are saying it is going to take time to evolve into a top class team but it would have been better if the £30m or so we spent on two players had led to better performances
  12. Unfortunately Barry Sanchez is quite right
  13. It may only be four games but the top six 1 Arsenal 2 Tottenham 3 Liverpool Man City 5 Man Utd 6 Chelsea is you would expect and we are mis table as you would expect
  14. Just a bsd day From the BBC Jussi Jaaskelainen produced several brilliant saves as West Ham came away from Premier League rivals Southampton with a fortunate point. The 38-year-old denied Dani Osvaldo, Morgan Schneiderlin and Rickie Lambert with three spectacular stops in a match dominated by the Saints
  15. I have two In the 1962–63 season Saints fielded the same line-up in 28 matches including all seven FA Cup matches as Saints progressed to the semi-final, going out 1–0 at Villa Park to eventual winners Manchester United, after an epic three match battle to get past Nottingham Forest in the previous round. In the first quarter-final replay against Forest, Burnside scored an 89th minute equaliser as Saints came back from a three goal deficit. In the second replay, at White Hart Lane he scored twice, including a rocket shot for the third goal as Saints finally defeated Forest 5–0 The 89th minute goal was over 50 years ago but I still remember it vividly today In 1966 almost 15,000 Saints fans packed out Leyton Orient's ground as Terry Paine headed the goal that meant top flight football. What a night
  16. Stating the bleedin obvious does not mean he is a Skate Not scoring goals is not as important as not letting them in. So we are doing OK

    Signings

I feel that this seasons new signings should enhance the team but in general the transfer policy has not been that good apart from Cork and Clyne We have also been lucky that late signings Boruc and Hoovield have been OK but Mayuka De Ridder Lee Fox Gazzinga and Ramierz have not but we are doing OK but a little concerned if Lamberts goals dry up
  19. 9th in the table surely is OK But we have not played a top team yet so probably disappointing but not a disaster
  20. Hope that there are injuries to other English Strikers
  21. Very true not sure the squad is that much better than last year 12 to 16 finish with no flirting with relegation would be acceptable. Dont think Cardiff Hull or Palace will make much impact
  22. AS an OAP living away from Southampton I cannot afford PL prices and the cost of travel so after going to matches since 1962 I doubt I will go to many more live ones but will follow the team on TV on the Internet and in the Press
  23. We have done really well this season better than I thought in October
  24. Thats the key point relegation will be a disaster financially
  25. At a first glance they seem very positive and things will look good if we do not get relegated as more cash is on offer next season
