Well that will not happen because NC is not the owner just an employee The owner will want to make all the major the decisions I would have thought not the hired help Most agreed with NC's Vision but it was going to cost millions of someone else's money
-
Having a rich owner of SFC does have its draw backs especially one not interested in football with no vision and not running the club NC lets face it is just an employee and probably wants more control and more salary. Unfortunate Situation for all concerned

Mark Duggan family reacts with fury to inquest verdict of lawful killing
John B replied to John B's topic in The Lounge
Lawful killing doesn't mean that he should have been killed. It means it was in the parameters of the law to use deadly force apparently Which seems OK but I still find it unacceptable that the Old Bill can Panic and shoot somebody like that Brazilian bloke years ago and get away with it -
http://www.theguardian.com/uk-news/2014/jan/08/mark-duggan-lawfully-killed-inquest So a man with no gun is shot lawfully by the Old Bill Seems a bit harsh to me Surely the police involved should be sacked because of complete incompetence They also want Water Canon as well http://www.theguardian.com/uk-news/2014/jan/08/met-police-water-cannon-britain

My sentiments entirely dont think he is a player any more

I am quite surprised to say that I completely agree with what you are saying we have not done that well in the Transfer. I think we have been very lucky to have achieved 9th Position which realistically is nearly the highest we can achieve as I dont think that a team in League 1 four years ago can compete consistently with the clubs in position 1 to 7 who have built large squads over quite a long time. Yes you are right we are now playing the price of not having a large PL squad and not resolving the GK situation especially as Davis and Gassa were our preferred goalies 18 months ago we were very lucky to get Boruc but did very well to get him so fit My main gripe is that we got in a number of players over time and gave them relatively 'long' contracts when they were never going to be suitable for the PL but that is probably something very difficult to manage but we still have Fox Barnard Jos Forte Sharp still hanging about But it is really good to be in the top half of the PL with a relatively young squad much better than when we were high in the League with Strachan

By better Refs do you mean those that agree with your Opinion The ones in the PL are the best in the country I doubt you could bring someone off the street who would be better than Clattenberg By the way what surprises me about the Everton incident is the way that the hand is flapping away from the ball after impact Would have been a harsh Penalty as the ball was a long way from goal and there seemed to be cover and it was very near the defender in the first place

I cannot think of a worse signing than Ramírez in the 50 years of supporting the Saints considering his price of three and half Delap's Where as Rickie is Probably the best along with Alan Ball
-
Really pleased we put out a decent team otherwise we may have lost I see WBA lost so hopefully they will do the same next week
-
The problem I think is that there is so much at stake with so much money around losing managers will do everything to deflect the blame of defeat. The Refs we have are the best available but the constant whingeing swearing and cheating that goes on makes their jobs really difficult of course they sometimes get decisions wrong but that is life and is made worse by all agro they receive

The Saints wrote to the referees' governing body the Professional Game Match Officials Limited (PGMOL) on New Year's Eve, objecting to referee Clattenburg's conduct towards Adam Lallana in the 2-1 defeat at Everton on December 29. Southampton objected to Clattenburg's conduct in an exchange with the England midfielder. But after a review the PGMOL has ruled there is no case to answer. In a letter seen by Press Association Sport, Southampton claimed Clattenburg told Lallana: "You are very different now, since you've played for England - you never used to be like this."

http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/25588220 I think he is right I used to think Fergie was wrong whingeing all the time when decisions go against Man U Now Mopo is playing the same game and the club also with the Lallana abuse claim It cannot be easy being a referee but is it OK abusing them when they make a mistake

I think you are confusing Ambition with being in LaLa Land Ambition for something which is achievable is laudable Being in the top ten at the end of the season would be a great achievement and I am really pleased how well we are going this season.but I feel that the Champions League talk is having an adverse effect on some of the fanbase with derision and name calling prevelant on this forum I have been following Saints and Football for over 50 years and there is no way SFC can get into the Champions League in the foreseeable future especially when three from Spurs Everton Liverpool and Man U probably wont get there this season we just cannot collect enough revenue to sustain a top six team. In the last ten years the Academy has not produced enough PL players to sustain life in the PL without buying in and if it was that easy other teams would be doing the same We will finish in one of our best positions ever in the PL something we could only dream about only three or four years ago unless we going down the pan completely like we did in 1974 when we were probably higher in the league than we are now and got relegated but I doubt it.
-
I dont think he has snookered himself I doubt whether he actually ever thought SFC would ever get to the Champions League just hype

Anyone else share my enthusiasm for Jack Cork?
John B replied to PortlandSaint's topic in The Saints
Cork is a Chelsea reject OK for middle of the table sides like us a reasonable PL player nothing exceptional just a good honest PRO -
We wont finish in the top 8 so shall we sack him now

Always a risk building a new stadium http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/magazine-25505385

Football in the PL is a Business and Cortese will decide what is best for Southampton

So if Lallana played at DM and had a poor game would you be saying the same thing

Are we one of the hardest teams to beat in the league?
John B replied to Tomobz's topic in The Saints
I think it was a pretty silly thread as it states the bleedin obvious as our position in the league shows we more difficult to beat than the ones below us and easier to beat than the ones above us Not surprisingly we are now more difficult to beat than last season when we were lower in the League as we are a much better team as our younger players mature We are probably at the Level we were when Strachan was manager to get to a higher level is going to mean more investment and a lot of hard work but is of course very possible but unlike those days we dont have players apart from Kelvin and Rickie who are reaching the end of there careers -
Yes I think you are right today you need twenty or so top class players which unfortunately we do not have it is a shame that money spent on some of the more expensive signings has not paid off and that we got to the PL too quickly and have players like Hooieveld Fox Lee Barnard Sharp still on the books and maybe Forte

I have no idea whether wilde was an idiot but the fans wanted him instead of Lowe however it was Crouch who was Chairman when our decline went into freefall and the shareholders wanted him replaced. But thanks to his mis management we are in the position we are today

EVERTON MATCH questionnaire for Love Everton Forum
John B replied to Love Everton Forum's topic in The Saints
Not much love on this Forum I am afraid lots of posters hate each other it seems -
There is also a quote that a fool and his money are soon parted whether this applies to Mr Crouch I do not know. But for the inept way he managed the club leading it into administration has been fantastic for the club as Alpine has said from time to time Now all we need is a good transfer policy as some of the acquistions have been puzzling ie getting Ramierz when a GK and CB were required at the start of last season Although we have done really well overall lately our little slump maybe because we have not got adequate cover in the areas I mention Key to success is having a water tight defence which we proved during the first part of the season so lets hope these two positions are addressed during the forthcoming window
