  1. Where did it say that the Premier League had serious doubts about the Gao family? I've not seen that, and hopefully their solicitors haven't seen it either.
  2. Unlucky. That Fulham u21 are quite a tough team to beat - pompey did well to take them to penalties.
  3. Yes, and a radio station. And top class catering.... Then sort out the squad and the ground if there's any money left over.
  4. Saints valued at £262m. pompey valued at £5.67m.
  5. If you hold up your hands to block the path of the ball it's a penalty. When the commentator said it was ball to hands it just demonstrated that he hasn't read the rules since 1980 and needs to catch up. He was presumably equally shocked when the keepers didn't pick up back passes, and we had goalposts instead of jumpers. Two good penalty shouts - you'd expect to be awarded one of them, and probably miss it.
  6. Not another ref who found the game was too big for him! Or is it Kenny Jackett who can't cope with managing a big club? Either way it'll be something about being the biggestest club - or some other old nonesense.
  7. Mad talk.
  8. Dodged us again.
  9. I mean charges on the ground. I'd like to think they can find the £125k due.....unless of course they have defaulted on that as cash flow becomes an issue pre-takeover....
  10. I've not seen anything that suggests Chanrai has any charges in 2017. It would be funny if true, but I'd be surprised if he managed to maintain anything through the changes of ownership.
  11. Football fans are one tribe - we lost someone. RIP
  12. I seem to recall earlier in the thread that someone mentioned that the club invested around £1.5-2m in the past three or four seasons on what I would call soft infrastructure projects such as a new PA system, CCTV, toilet refurbishment and lounge re-decoration - does anyone have a link? I can't be bothered to look back through.
  13. Most normal businesses would have the ground open for their first games, perhaps they discovered more issues that needed sorting? This work is presumably part of the emergency upgrades that led to the takeover. It was either that or the Property Developing Trust coughing up £1m a summer for five years, which would have involved getting the begging buckets out again. Not any old buckets - the ones used by Moses to part the Red Sea.
  14. That's not yoghurt, that's the milk that TCWTB just took out of his manky fridge and swigged.
  15. If they want to do things like give us £20m for Lovren, the only polite thing to do is to bow to their experience and let them.
  16. The good news is that there will be a party, in the executive suites at Fratton - Lord T and I have been giving pompey a tenner a week for the last eight years and they've been looking after it for us. And don't be worried, it's ringfenced and can only be used for our party, so it's a really safe investment. I can't wait to sit down in the original chair that King John sat in to sign the Magna Carta, with all of you people gathered around Arthur's Round Table sat on chairs from HMS Victory, eating off the crockery used at the Final Supper - being careful not to spill anything on the famous table cloth, formerly the Shroud of Turin - it'll be great! I'll ring them later and see how much our investment is now worth...I've heard some amazing figures over the years, people converting £40 into £10,000 - though thinking about it, that might have been the other way around...
  17. That game against Salisbury - was it a league match or has their FA Cup campaign started already?...
  18. It sounds like the sole aim of the article was to be controversial, wind people up, and gather clicks for advertisers - so I haven't bothered to read it.
  19. Was Diane Abbott on Southsea Common estimating the crowd size, or did she just work with Storrie on the High Court case figures?
  20. You show me a police officer who believes they are getting the full support of government and I'll show you a nurse who feels overpaid.
  21. Has the hero-villain-ometer recovered from the bashing it took with Cook? It's going to need a bloody good service before Jackett is plugged into it - the thing has been running in the red zone for a year. With US funding it might be a good time to update the Passionometer too, that has been getting heavy use since they got into the top three. I realise infrastructure is something that only happens elsewhere, but this new guy really needs to look at those two key pillars of his theme park Fatpipes World - stadiums through the ages, a living museum. And if he thinks it's a sleeping beauty, he's in for a shock.
  22. As long as his shoulder is okay.
  23. Are they going to make a decision on Jackett or just leave him hanging? They should collar him as soon as possible and tie him down before the fans get shirty. sorry.
  24. I just hope he can cope with a big club with great history, after all, Wolverhampton Wanderers doesn't really prepare you for a job as big as this one.
  25. I find it difficult to believe that pompey would fail to pay staff what they are owed...
