If thats true then someone at Reading has clearly lost the plot. They wont get a penny for him in 10 months time when his contract expires. Over a million for someone they dont consider a regular......amazing......no wonder we havent signed him.

So if we are top by Christmas and everything is going our way with Cortese's five year premiership plan on track he is going to jepordise that and sack the manager is he ? ok.........................

He would have been here by now if he was coming back. Reading will probably be using him as an impact sub this season....unfortunately.

Just started reading it after flicking through it and it seems really well laid out and a good mix of articles. As the season starts and progresses I'm sure there will be much more to come with regards humour, opinion and critique. Well done lads.

I do hope, when he signs, that the manager wont play him in every position except the one where he did so well at Hearts !!!!

Alan has performed very well since arriving but the next year will be a big one for him. He does however need to stop blaming the condition of the football pitches when things do not go his way

I took it as him meaning we have identified a couple of players for each position that needs strengthening but if someone better comes along in the next few weeks then we are confident that we have the finances to see off any other potential interested clubs. If nothing better does come along we will go for one of the players already on the radar. I'm wondering if thats not the situation with Antonio for instance. But thats probably not what he was saying at all !

Perhaps they do.....but I'm sure a reserve player has a price, and not a very big one at that especially when that player is only featuring briefly in warm up games !

Just having a peep at Reading's website I see that they are only using Antonio as a late sub in most games, coming on for one of their established wingers. I would be going all out to get him back either on loan or as a permanent signing ASAP.

If you think about it those supporters who dont use this forum, or any other forum for that matter, are blissfully unaware of rumour, conspiracy theories and scare mongering so the only news they get is either from the media or from the club itself on the OS. In fact its like the old days before the internet and before fans forums when the summer was literally the CLOSE season and the only news you would hear would be new signings, the fixture list and ticket prices. Of course the forums etc almost demand instant news from the club and they aren't so hot at that.....but is any club ?

Ox-Cha has not yet got the physical presence and more importantly, strength that Antonio has. In this league some of those brutish defenders will push him off the ball like you or i would swat away a fly. If AP is planning on using him in the Antonio role then I fancy we may be left lacking a bit. Fully expct to see a pacy wide man who can play up front signed before end of August however and that will leave Ox-Cha to develop without any added pressure.

With 3 weeks to go and you saying we wouldnt get anywhere near last season I would just graciously accept you were wrong to be honest. I'm surprised cos I felt, to a degree like yourself, that the club weren't pushing them enough.

Dont forget we are notoriously bad, slow starters. Its about time we laid that tradition to rest though.

I think he would, he was a free transfer so it was only the cost of wages, and he is genuine cover for the right back spot. Now Richardson is out for a while I assume he will become first choice and should he get injured AP will put Harding to right back as cover for him.

Well he isnt starting....and the fact they flew Butterfield out to Switzerland for this game too. I reckon there is some truth in it and that he is injured.

Only disappointment for me is that Antonio hasnt come back............yet ! Perhaps AP has something better up his sleeve for RM/impact sub.

What are you basing that sweeping statement on ? Just the fact he is at Man City or have you seen him play ?

Might have something to do with him getting mentioned more than anyone else on the twitter reports and he only came on half time. Unless it was cos he had a goal ruled out for offside and made a goal.......FFS !

I think numbers must be down otherwise they would have posted it on the OS....if nothing else as a sort of two fingered salute to all the people who predicted their, ahem, sales policy this year was not all it could have been !

Cos his contract doesn't expire until 29 August....we do have an option for a further year apparently.....dont hold your breath ;-) They are probably giving him every chance to find another club. Perhaps Doddsy will have a quiet word with ****erill !!
