James is the big surprise, Before his injury he was in all the time, since then nothing. Still if rumour about his off field lifestyle is to be believed plus his contributions against Oldham etc then I suppose it makes sense. Lets be honest though, he was never a right back and never will be. In midfield he was adequate but AP wants better than adequate.

They have been offered new contracts, doesn't mean they have signed them yet. Connolly is listed elsewhere because he is niether in contract or released. Bart and Doble - they want to extend their contracts, Connolly was only on an "until end of season" deal and they want to offer him another - presumably pay as you play - deal.

Surprised about James, but not dis-pleased. If AP wants at least two for every position then we can expect a fairly busy summer. I would think we will see at least 6 new players, 3 of whom will be cheap or free transfer cover/squad players.

I see on the BBC - with a link to Newcastle's local paper - that the Geordies are intending to loan out Nile Ranger for next season. Isn't he the local lad ? Wouldn't he be good up front with Rickie ?

I get ya, thanks. I think AP really really rates Connolly, he praises him or mentions him at every opportunity. I would expect him to stay another season, probably on a pay as you play deal. If he can stay fit for say 75% of the games he will score plenty as he showed in that spell just before Christmas.

I dont really understand your logic here. You are presumably saying that Connolly is a better player than Barnard (which is IMHO true) and if fit he will play more than Barnard, but in the next breath you are getting rid of Connolly. Why ?

I dont see anywhere in that Sky article that suggests we have even spoken to him yet. He is waiting to speak to us yes, but hasn't as yet from what I can read.

Dont hold your breath waiting then. NC said in that Solent interview he did a few weeks back that ML simply comes to games as a fan and leaves NC and his team to get on with it. If you do get a statement on the first season it will be from NC, not ML.

My missus watched that Over The Rainbow show about picking a Dorothy for the West End show. She informed me on Thursday that the bookies had stopped taking bets on a girl called Jenny and asked what it meant. ML does not make statements, we havent heard from him all season. So now we are supposed to believe he has come out and said he is not happy ! As he lives in Switzerland and wasnt at the game yesterday who has he told ? Have Solent got a reporter outside his front door ?
