  4. Both JWP and Redmond look decent at this level. Can't really see why we're supposed to be interested in the Polish number 6, though.

  14. True, I'd forgotten about him, but we've signed probably the two best center backs in the league in Alderweireld and Van Dyk.
  15. What is it with you muppets being so rude to someone making a series of perfectly valid points. I'd say he's similar in that he's clearly a big lad who likes to bring the ball forward, is comfortable with it at his feet and can pick a pass. He looks strong in the tackle too, and quick. Forren aside, we've done damn well bringing in center backs in recent years, I don't get where all the negativity is coming from.
  16. "Passionate fans, twelth man." "He's managed big clubs with big expectations in the past." Here we go again, what a charming modest bunch. https://www.theguardian.com/football/2017/jun/02/portsmouth-kenny-jackett-manager

  19. "Together with the PST’s 48.5%, this means 81.4% of the club’s equity holding is in agreement with the sale. The threshold to approve a sale, as laid down in the shareholders’ agreement, is 75%." So, a pretty close run thing. A lot of the Presidents must be sceptical.

  21. The only thing that Eisner has committed to doing, is footing the bill for essential ground repairs that will keep the timber tabernacle from collapsing for a year or two, but won't change the fact that they need a new stadium. Next season nothing material will have changed in terms of their transfer budget or the way the club is run, and they'll soon start moaning. At some point they'll realize that their still up **** creek, only now someone else is paddling.
  22. He's "fuming" about the reports of his interest in the Wigan job. He's Pompey through and through, really. http://www.portsmouth.co.uk/sport/football/pompey/pompey-move-to-secure-cook-s-future-1-7963062

  24. Opta says Calum Chambers was Middlesborough's best player this season: [h=2]Middlesbrough: Calum Chambers, 7.07[/h] It says a lot when your highest rated player for the campaign is on loan from another Premier League club. Calum Chambers has impressed during his time at the Riverside, at centre-back and right-back, and he has made more clearances per game (7.2) than any other Boro player. Like Maguire, he is likely to be playing Premier League football next season, be it with parent club Arsenal or elsewhere.
