Sam Gallagher - Joins Blackburn: Official

We should take him back FF. They really rated him and should nurture him. Maybe cherry pick the right place for hi to go. -
The relay was great

How Many Points Did We Have This TIme Last Season
Sergei Gotsmanov replied to Gemmel's topic in The Saints
That is a far more meaningful statistic and very encouraging! -
Sensible or foolish bet on Bournemouth
Sergei Gotsmanov replied to Sergei Gotsmanov's topic in The Lounge
Make a donation to a charity of your choice and I will take the £1 bet; and demonstrate you have done it. The question is about value. For me Bournemouth is good value at 2/1 when I think they should be 5/6. Chelsea is not good value even at 1050 to 1. -

Sensible or foolish bet on Bournemouth

Ladbrokes and a few other sites I think. I would add that I quite like Bournemouth! -
I have made a chunky investment on Bournemouth to get relegated. I got 2/1 and it was too attractive with a team that is 4th from bottom and has just lost their top scorer to injury. They are 12/1 to finish bottom. Was this foolhardy or a good piece of business?

How is he getting on at MK Dons?

Which other club (or clubs) do you follow?
Sergei Gotsmanov replied to Professor's topic in The Saints
Good reply. Many of us will now follow Feyenoord due to Koeman connections but there is not the euphoria when they win. -
He is a young player who if people will get off his case will develop into a very good player for Saints in time.

Nothing like a good old fashioned Stalinist purge!

Read the comments sections. Most people thought 'good' we are finally doing something about these barbaric throwbacks. We have moved on in fifty years. I am sorry that you equate fifties Britain justice with justice in today's ISIS state. Maybe you could go and talk to them, I am sure they will warm to your offer of compromise.

Well the Sun spoke for me. I expect they also spoke for the thousands of desperate Syrian and Iraqi refugees forced to abandon the land they have lived in for centuries, and who have witnessed friends and families butchered or daughters taken off to be sold as sex slaves. They probably spoke for British Jews who can no longer walk the streets safely of parts of our country because of a modern day intolerance that has its place in a different century. I would assume they spoke for the gay community who must look on with horror at seeing homosexuals thrown from the top of buildings simply because they are gay. I would think they also spoke for the overwhelming majority of ordinary British Muslims that simply want to live in harmony without the uncertainty and fear of association with these medieval barbarians in the name of their fine religion. The Sun said what most people were thinking.

It is just football. I would have him back because he is not likely to leave again and could become a Southampton stalwart in the dressing room as he once was.

Wanyama Transfer Rumours - Summer 2015 Edition
Sergei Gotsmanov replied to brett24's topic in The Saints
You don't think that is a lot of players to bed in? -
It is scandalous; I went to pick up my winnings at the end of the game only to discover that the bookmaker had left at half time. The club endorsed a bookmaker that leaves when it is due to pay out its winnings!
-
Ethically when you pay your players up to £60,000 a week it is morally questionable to be paying some of your workforce £7.50 an hour. I am sure the club will recognise that and address it. As someone pointed out - this will probably add less than 1% to the total wage bill. I think it compromises the values of the club. I don't support a corporation I support my local football club.
-
Technically did we sign AM for £1m but only paid £750 because he did not play thirty games? Fuzzy memory but did Branfoot not play him because he would have played his thirtieth game and we would be subject to the remainder of the transfer fee. I am probably wrong!
-
Forgive my ignorance Steve but how did the budget effect limited company contractors? I should really know as I probably to an extent fall into this camp.
-
I am not sure I buy this 'AM could not afford the £1.5m to activate their release clause' - if it meant they sold the player for twice as much as the £6.8m then I would lend them the money myself at the right price. It is bad news for the club but I just hope that RK was well briefed on what was going on because it sounded like he expected him to sign.

Speculating, as is all we can really do, the deal does seem to have stalled with Toby going to Spurs. As has been said, if Toby wanted to go to Spurs surely the deal will have gone through by now. Maybe he is happy to stay at Saints but can see the merits of a move so will go with who wants him most. From our perspective signing Toby is a massive symbolic move because it sends all of the right messages to the other players and critically to a manager who is likely to be courted by other clubs in the remaining part of his contract.

Schneiderlin Joins Manchester United (Official)
Sergei Gotsmanov replied to Bewildered's topic in The Saints
To be fair Chris that is actually a hell of a lot of money to just 'take a hit on'. This is not FIFA manager. -
From Saints perspective we should factor in that it is Spurs that we are up against and if there is any loophole we will exploit it. I would suspect that the way MP left us would have generated plenty of bad feeling between us and Spurs
-
I would be inclined to agree with that. I would put this down to the fact Koeman would be quite persuasive, the unsuccessful spell at Real Madrid making him wary of a dodgy move and the fact that enjoyed his year with Saints last year. I would add that if I was to invest it would hinge on how many Saints players and their wives attended his wedding.
