Agreed. I'd be the first to say that Alpine has come out with some right rubbish in the past, but people are just jumping on his back for no reason nowadays. Yes he's still being a bit negative, but nothing Alpine is saying is that ridiculous, and it certainly doesn't warrant the abuse he's getting.

Didn't they say when they announced the Birmingham cup tickets that the online system was going to be down for a couple of weeks while it's being upgraded? There was definitely something, but looking on the website it seems to have vanished. Looking back at this thread, it was where the link in the first post points to, however they've updated the page and removed the info, which is helpful of them...... http://www.saintsweb.co.uk/forum/showthread.php?t=520

One or two people on here run pubs don't they? They should ring up and see what Asturius have to say.

The problem is, people remember he scored a few decent free kicks for Leeds about 7 years ago and think he's still like that.

I got my figures from Soccerbase, which is generally more accurate than wiki. But hey, if I'm wrong I'm wrong. http://www.soccerbase.com/players_details.sd?playerid=3308

He's only played 26 games (and 6 as sub) in the past 4 years. He used to be good, but I'd worry what sort of shape he's in these days. Last season Sunderland lost 6, and drew 2 of the 8 games he featured in, including a 7-1 defeat at Everton.

Judging by how empty it was on Saturday, no-one. I was quite surprised, Birmingham ought to be one of the most popular games of the season for the corporate folks. Maybe Lawrie was doing something useful after all...........

Presumably they still have reserve games up north?

Depends if we wrote it into the loan agreement or not. Knowing us, probably not........

I'm sure the airlines will be prepared to fly him anywhere he wants to go, after all he's got lots of money and can afford first class. Quite a few airports have hotels airside nowadays don't they? If I was him I'd check into one of them, at least for a couple of weeks until the journalists get bored. Potentially he could stay in one of them for the rest of his life, like in that Tom Hanks film.

Apparently he's on his way to Hong Kong now.

There were supposed to be a couple of tall (though not that tall), buildings going up in London. It was a pet project of Ken Livingstone though, so i'm not sure what will happen now Boris is in charge.

Hmm, I might have imagined it. The number was in my head for some reason.

Fair play. I'm dreading what will happen when my 18 month old gets into football, I think I'd rather he became a glory hunter than supported Portsmouth.

I personally don't see why we would be spending 300k on a player who's not that young but only has a handful of career appearances, when we've currently got Wotton and Euell as backup. But hey, what do I know.

His dad has said he's joining us.

Do we know how long Saga and Rasiak have got left on their contracts? Not much I'd have thought by next summer.

It's a one month loan according to the BBC: http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/teams/b/brentford/7548912.stm

I thought the thread title was Fanny Picture Thread. I've never clicked so fast in my life.

Unfortunately, from a cost perspective, that would be the last corner they would re-open.

The role of Dave Jones (not the Cardiff one) in all this mess
Scummer replied to alpine_saint's topic in The Saints
If he was doing that he'd be in breach of the accounting code of ethics, and could have his membership revoked. -
This is a high profile case, with a government which is desperate to regain some public approval. Of course they will do something.
-
Presumably he won't be going anywhere if we take his passport away.

According to the Reading website, it's James Rowe they've signed from us, as said above Joyce has joined them from somewhere in Ireland. http://www.readingfc.premiumtv.co.uk/page/NewsDetail/0,,10306~1369990,00.html
