I remember seeing a young “raw” player once who seemed to spend a lot of time falling over his own legs. His name was Mick Channon.
  2. What about his run and chip to Long to set up Armstrong’s goal against Derby?
  3. The assumption that we have enough to avoid relegation is dangerous. Like them or not, the players being shipped out have Premiership experience and provide strength in depth. A few more injuries and suspensions and we are down in Harry’s Land of the bare bones. Hopefully we will see a couple coming in. If not and we do get hit with more injuries and suspensions we are going to have to rely on the academy players to get us the points to stay up! Squeaky bum time!
  4. Isn’t that every club’s ideal position? I’d be very worried if any club weren’t trying to finish above the relegation places.

Isn’t it usually the way that we are heavily linked with a player only to sign someone else?
  6. I was expecting to find exactly what I found. The point is that this site says that this section is for Saints issues and the lounge is for non Saints related issues. No big deal but I am sure the same people who are interested enough to post here would also have posted in the “wasteland” as you call it. No point in having rules if you don’t abide by them
  7. I assume that was my post as it has vanished? Not sure why as this isn’t really Saints connected and should be in The Lounge. Hey ho.
  8. Very sad news story but what has it to do with SFC? Shouldn’t this be in the Lounge?
  9. So all of those mentioned were playing crap at the time they were selected? Players can show potential and then not go on to realise it. Players can go through purple patches and then hit a downturn in form. Hoedt showed enough previously to be signed by a Premiership club and to be selected to play for his country so he clearly impressed somebody. Still, once you are condemned by this place that's it for your career eh Cabbage? Makes you wonder why the likes of JWP and Jan Bednarek stayed with us . It is a shame to see any one fail here, but some seem to take a great delight in it to the extent that they carrying on slagging these people off long after they have gone (see Puel etc).
  10. Getting back on track, has the Labour Party died yet?
  11. It wasn't that long ago that Bednarek was getting tons of flak on here. Hoedt has played for his country so must have something about him. Okay, so it didnt work out here for him but hopefully the move will do him good and we will get our money back too.
  12. Both are injured currently but are both first choices in their respective positions. It is a no brainier that we need both of them fit and playing.

Good job we don’t have posters still obsessing about Reed then. D’oh!

Funny how other clubs don’t seem to want to snap this footballing genius up. Perhaps he is just waiting for the right offer?
  15. Apologies if already posted but Schneiderlin could be on his way to Roma. Wonderful for us but one for whom the grass was not greener elsewhere.

It is heartening to see how well has he progressed in the world of football since leaving us. Especially after that interview on TalkSport when he reassured all of his fans that he had several offers lined up and would be back where he belongs soon. I'm sure it is all just a matter of time before he is dining at the top table again.
  17. Good to know we have a quality 2 minute player on our hands then
  18. But then Gallagher got 3 votes as MOTM for a whole 2 minute appearance so that tells you all you need to know abou polls and ratings. Really wasn’t expecting anything from this game so to come away with 3 points, especially after playing with 10 men in the second half, was little short of miraculous!
  19. Its good to see you still chipping away at easy targets Batman. Meanwhile on a daily basis young men are being stabbed to death in the streets of our homeland. This is something that doesnt seem to both you as much as what people in other countries do or believe. The latest was a 14 year old boy who was knocked off his moped and then apparently stabbed several times whilst unconscious. The Rivers of Blood that we are experiencing on a daily basis have precious little to do with Islam.
  20. Perhaps this will encourage Ralph to put out a stronger team in the replay?
  21. Leicester are currently sitting in the best of the rest position. Despite the negativity towards their manager I know where I would rather be. He must be doing something right. I don’t fancy our chances up there.
  22. How do you feel about the 1 billion pounds given to shareholders Duckie?
  23. Passing football in itself was not the problem. Not having an end product was the problem. There is nothing wrong with keeping possession but at some point you need to make it pay.
  24. Watford.
