If beer makes you a violent idiot incapable of making a rational decision not to lib furniture at people stop drinking! If someone is far enough away for you to lob a table at them they are not a threat. It really is time we stopped making excuses for thugs being thugs!
-
Injury record is a worry but then that could just be an Arsenal thing as there players always seem to be knackered! I'd have him back I think with regular football and confidence he could find his form again which he has definitely shown glimpses of in an Arsenal shirt, same goes for Walcott I'd have him in a heart beat!
-
so it could have been anyone in the square this happened to but it just happened to be a group of lads most of whom have past for being thugs that got caught on cctv throwing furniture and not any of the hundreds of normal non idiot saints fans that were there? Pull the other one it has bells on some people are attracted to violence these mugs are clearly amongst them? Not saying it wasn't an unprovoked attack but there are ways and means of defending yourself without throwing punches let alone furniture
-
exactly, I'd give them all season tickets for life. I bet it wasn't their faults last time they got banned either was probably some other nasty boys making trouble that they couldn't possibly avoid. This argument that it could have been anyone cracks me up clearly it couldn't have been as I for one would have been much more likely to be cowering like a girl than lobbing furniture guess the initial reaction of some people is slightly different!

Don't get the sympathy, nobody needs to throw furniture around and square up to the police in order to defend themselves!

Do Saints improve players better than other teams?

Interestingly he was my first choice to replace Shaw, he was obviously decent and with a point to prove. I don't remember him being terrible for villa! -

I'd agree we are going through a good patch but anyone who expects it to last indefinitely is going to get a nasty surprise! -

Seems a rose tinted perspective to me! Plenty of players don't come here and improve lets put the Gaston elephant out there as an example or mayuka? All clubs have some players that work out and some that don't we are going through a good spell at the minute but we've had plenty of bad runs in the past Andreas Jakobson anyone? -
Can't see him signing for Middlesborough he's a free agent so I would expect him to attract a decent contract at a bigger club probablyy back in Italy or maybe in Spain
-
Victor for me is going to be an interesting one, contract running down so if he won't sign we need to cash in but I don't see where the mega bid is coming from so will we let him go for less than we have taken for other players recently or will we sit on his contract? Who knows maybe if none of the really big clubs come in for him he might decide this is as good as it gets for now and sign an extension.... A much more interesting debate than Schniederlin last summer when it was obvious we would get a massive bid from a top club.

Got a goal, an assist and won a penalty tonight maybe he's found his level.

I'd be happy for us to throw the game in the hope that were the situation ever reversed they would do the same for us.

James Ward-Prowse's list of indisputable, unimprovable weaknesses

Plenty of observers in this country would have agreed when Rolando arrived at Man Utd hence the 'Show Pony' nickname! He has always pulling step overs and tricks and then getting dumped on his backside by the likes of Le Saux. Now I don't for a minute think that JWP will ever be in the Ronaldo/Messi/Bale bracket but he will at the very minimum be a solid premiership player for most of his career with every possibility that he will play for one of the big clubs and represent his country along the way. I can't stand this modern thing where unless a player is Messi/Maldini on debut they are garbage it is sadly pathetic like the fact we have to have a player to hate on every season even if it is just a journey man doing a job for us in a lower league! -
I wouldn't over state our success rate with these injuries, they are hit and miss sometimes a player will recover fully sadly sometimes they won't. Fingers crossed for Ryan but it's so hard to get the momentum back into a young career after what will be at least a year out.
-
that's a terrible blow to the lad it couldn't have come at a worse time for him he was at a real make or break time in his career. Hope he makes a swift and full recovery!
-
Our away following has always been funny the 'lads' in the league one days were a nightmare hobby little idiots who spent the whol game 'giving it large' to the home section! I've seen us away in every league and have always preferred to sit in my seat and watch the game sorry if my lack of 'singing' and 'laddish' behaviour offends you but I'm not an accountant and I was born in Manchester!
-
Sky couldn't care less about empty seats they will just turn up the crowd mic or use a tape to provide the illusion of atmosphere all they care about is subscriber numbers and they will probably go up with less bums on seats! The fan in the ground is fast becoming an irrelevance! Just you wait for the phone app linked to the stadium pa so you can click to boost the volume from the comfort of your own sofa!

he was looking good before his injury but he has yet to fully establish himself and with such a serious injury who knows what player will take to the pitch when he returns. Or he just chooses to play them as he doesn't have any real options! I don't think those futures will be long they must both be on substantial wages LaLa in particular so I can't see Liverpool wanting to hang on to them as bit part players
-
So far it looks like Clyne is the only player to have left us and done well even Morgan seems to be spending more and more time warming the bench! It certainly looks like LaLa and Lovren's time on Mersey side will soon be over.
-
Because in years o come they can support our virtual team that will be made up of 11 obese slobs sat in darkened rooms wearing VR helmets and bashing hell out of a gamespad!
-
Don't see why there is no chance you never know who will rock up for this sort of game.
-
So true, big gamble for Stoke! They have had a few come off lately so maybe they've got cocky but you never know he looked a decent player before!
-
There is no way on earth it will just be players from the two promotion years I would expect quite a few others to make appearances with the promotion players hopefully forming the bulk of the team. This is the real dilemma for me Skacel will he play or not can we please have a 200 page thread on it before he signs to play on the pitch at the last game of the season?
-
and even if Pelle is the worst forward they have ever had he's still a proven goalscorer at both prmier league and international level players like that with 18 months to go on a contract simply don't cost 5m quid! As someone else rightly pointed out if 5m is all he is worth on the market I'd run his contract down and let him go on a free if he won't re-sign his goals this season already are worth more than 5m!
-
Lol, got to love the intelligence on show in that post! He is one of Italy's first choice strikers he is worth more than 5m
