  1. Classic footballer in not running round like headless idiot = not trying British football fan rant. Were you one of those who slated Rasiac for his terrible work rate and moaned that he did nothing for 90 minutes bu score a tap in or two? When will football fans stop equating running around and flying into tackles with actually being good at the game? The way some people bang on you'd think we would be better off with a team full of David Pruttons who try hard and clap the fans while hoping nobody notices a complete lack of ability.
  2. Good luck to Mr Lee looked like he had real potential when he first joined us and was unlucky with injuries and how quickly we have progressed, had we spent another season in the Championship I suspect he would have done very well for us at that level st least. Hope he finds a J-League team and his form quickly so he can play at the world cup. The Guly debate is endless and circular it seems with some people refusing to accept that he did a great job for us during our rise up the leagues and still offers an ok squad alternative at this level, yes he's not a world beater but he is a decent pro who has never moaned and always gves his best even if sometime that best is a little below the required level.
  3. Wouldn't say no to Bertrand if Shaw really does want to go but I would expect 15 million plus to accompany him! Much like Le Saux he would fill the slot well in the short term and stop us getting ripped off for a replacement. I thought le Saux was pretty solid for us remember him giving Ronaldo a good clattering early on against man utd. Don't think he will go this window though maybe in the summer, will wish the lad well and track his progress.
  4. Northumbria police really have made themselves look like a bunch of muppets, claiming to have no influence on kick off times or the use of the bubble etc when clearly they have been forcing these things on the clubs. I don't see how they can object to future Tyne-Weir derbies kicking off at 3 or later as they have left themselves no wriggle room.
  5. A move to man it'd would probably double his wages and guarantee his place on the plane to Brazil, I like Adam a lot but it is very very unusual for a player to turn down a move to one if the biggest clubs in the world. I hope he and all our other important players are here come the first of February but should Adam in particular decide to leave I for one would wish him well and thank him for his service to the club. Players will always come and go it is how they play for the saints and the manner of their parting which decides how they are remembered, we are still a small mid table club in this league so we should expect to loose some players to the big boys every now and then.
  6. Can't say I'm bothered I'd much rather they quietly got on with business at staplewood. It is however a surprise given the recent press about our youth system and the fa's desire to play to the gallery.
  7. Don't remind me of the Adkins fiasco it is a stain on our club that will fade but never be erased. As for the rest of your post it is pure speculation but we are a small club having a great season so of course our best players and manager will be linked with other clubs it will be a measure of our ambition how we respond should such speculation transform into offers.
  8. I thought his comments were pretty sensible, club are in a relegation battle, it's a tough league and the players have let the manager and the fans down, on paper their best 11 shouldn't be relegation material the fact that they are staring down the barrel just makes it all the more entertaining.
  9. Seriously? ****
  10. Cheer up son, we've got three international strikers and a glittering array of talent in midfield, maybe we will become Newcastle under Keegan now that would be exciting! Yes everyone the loss of Boruc is a big blow but Kelv and Gazza are both adequate and having them in goal doesn't suddenly mean we will loose every game obviously we won't be as strong at the back but we have won games with worse keepers between the sticks.
  11. I really wish they would drop the 'personality' from the title and replace it with 'celebrity' as the requirement for personality was dropped years ago! The young person shortlist is laughable, it seems they want to have a token footballer on it each year and this year the list was drawn up the week Januzaj was the savior of English football.
  12. Lets not heap to much pressure on JWP yes he looks an outstanding prospect but thats it at the minute he is still a prospect David Prutton was captain of England under 21's remember!
  13. I read it more that he told the boss to play him or he was off and the boss said earn it if you want to play and you'll leave when the club decides or at the end of your contract which ever comes first.
  14. Front three of Welbec left, Lambert Centre and Sturridge right? Rooney will cry off and we need width from somewhere as the midfield sure as hell won't be supplying it. Hart has to stay in goal as the other options are not proven if we had a top notch reserve with high level experience chomping at the bit then I'd say go for it but we clearly don't have that luxury!
  15. Saw him play for us at Notts County and he was half decent in a shower of sh1t performance
  16. Perfectly ridiculous but each to their own. Rickie is a really good player and I've loved having him in the team and will continue to do so but Pahars was exceptional if you took the player he was when he first joined us and put him into the English third teir records would have tumbled, I think the injury scared spell at the end of Pahars time has clouded peoples minds!
  17. Bit harsh I think McGoldrick and Gillett have both proved themselves reasonable Championship players and Holmes if it wasn't for hi broken body is easily upto that level.
  18. Always felt sorry for Jamie White he had so much potential but for me that season destroyed his career he was far to young and lacking in experience to carry the weight we put on him. I'm not saying he would have been premier leaue but I think he was far to talented to sink as far as he has.
  19. If he plays well against the Ukraine and scores the winner then that assures him a place in the next squad rinse and repeat with good performances and he's on the plane to Brazil, yes he needs luck on his side, yes he will need to have a great season for saints and yes he will have to play well comming off the Bench once Rooney et all are fit but if he keeps up his standards he will be in it's his to loose now.
  20. almost everyone I've spoken to has been full of praise for him, it does really concern me that England will go into a vital qualifier with only Lambert and Defoe in the squadas strikers it certainly says alot about the lack of strength in depth available at the moment.
  21. Do we have definitive proof either way? I've heard both versions argued but never seen anyone produce a shread of evidence the club I don't think have ever commented on the structure of either the bale or walcott deal and exactly what we cahsed in!
  22. Exactly otherwise how could we have had the secret mystery trialist from poland a few years ago to distract us from the Skacel merry go round!

    Cuba

Was five or six years ago now and we only saw one can of real coke in 11 days and that was a dodgy mexican import. No McDonalds, No Starbucks, No KFC was fantastic! Some cigars drink rum (Mojito's!) and soak up the atmosphere of a great country.

    Cuba

Multi centre is the only way to do Cuba if you ask me we did 6 nights on the beach in the southern tip of the island we landed at Holguin and then 3 nights in Havana before flying home from there. It is a fantastic country and so nice to be away from McDonalds, Starbucks and even for the most part Coca-Cola! If I were to do it again I'd definitely try and visit more of the country side and also the second city of Santiago we avoided Varadero because it seemed a bit too much of a toursit trap isolated from anything of the real Cuba. If your going to go then now is the time the country is changing rapidly and what the future holds is increadibly uncertain the US government still maintains that Cuba will be returned to the playboys of the pre revolution era one day but I can't see it happening. I hope they have a slow and controlled transition to a more democratic and free state and that the US drops the frankly ridiculous blockade that has served no purpose for a generation.
  25. It's a bus.
