What did you expect us to do faced with over an hour of 10 vs 11, go all out for a win? Despite the extra man I wouldn’t say they were all over us, we were clearly lacking up top and I’d have taken a point given the circumstances. To lose to a stupid error, against a team that can’t even buy a goal makes it all the harder to take. 9th loss at home this season, and some utter helmets like Instant Classic have to nerve to criticise those of us that turn up whilst they stream from the comfort of their armchair. The no hand shake thing is so bloody ridiculous when you’ve got players jostling each other at corners and falling on top of each other from tackles etc.

They’re definitely proving a tough nut to crack - fully expect them to be set up totally different to this on Saturday though. If Liverpool turn this around for the win it could have a massive demoralising effect of West Ham (I hope)

Villa were probably the worst team I’ve seen at home this season and we still huffed and puffed to get a result. Djenepo goes from the sublime to the ridiculous it seems, Smallbone had a solid enough debut, Stephens was a rock, and there’s nobody else in our squad I think I’d rather have at Right Back than JWP. Our fans were good today, well done all.

I dunno, the last 7 or 8 years once they made the Archers our home end, used to be rocking and really felt like we made a difference when the team needed the boost. Because of the executive boxes, location of Britannia Road and away coaches, plus footbridge the only logical place to put the away fans is towards the Northam end of the kingsland, but I can’t see the club spending the money to adapt the stadium - particularly as they want St Mary’s as friendly for the day tripper as possible.

Technically a former saint in the winning defence too....

Fully expecting us to get turned over by Villa, 1-3 to them kind of score line. They’re a bit resurgent in recent games and their score lines aren’t a fair reflection of their performances, couple that with our fragile mentality at home and I only see one winner.

All in all a **** day out. We never looked like winning today, after the winter break and the talk of making our home form more formidable I don’t understand just why we were so poor today - so poor we made Burnley look good tbh. Can only assume with their first that Ings forgot his positioning and thought the harsh bend on the ball was taking it into the side netting - why is it always us that embarrasses themselves like that. Loving seeing them pushing for the top 4, a perfect example of the sum of all parts being more important than individual talent. Finding it both hilarious, and a shame, that Leeds look like doing a typical Leeds. Another club that belong in the top tier however i'd much rather see someone like Brentford come up for the first time. Am I right in thinking the away end is no longer the roofless terrace from when we went there in 2005?
