Delmary Posted 5 July, 2009 Share Posted 5 July, 2009 Hello, I am Nineteen Canteen and a long time Saints fan and ST holder and in the minority who believe the club shafted itself by removing Lowe in 2006. What threads do you suggest I take part in assuming this is an all inclusive forum for all Saints fans. Here's one for you. Enjoy!
Block 5 Posted 5 July, 2009 Share Posted 5 July, 2009 "Although solitary confinement is no longer permitted in prisons in England and Wales, inmates can still be kept in segregation through the use of Prison Rule 43, which provides for segregation when the prison authorities consider it necessary to maintain "good order and discipline" and when inmates request it for their own protection. Many more inmates are segregated for their own protection than for the maintenance of good order and discipline."
Bourno Posted 5 July, 2009 Share Posted 5 July, 2009 'Football is a game of opinions' someone once said (no idea who). This forum would be pretty boring if we all agreed with each other and had nothing to complain about (but then mabe we would be in the Prem, solvent and winning games). Debate is perfectly healthy but picking out individuals is in my opinion childish.

Nineteen Canteen Posted 5 July, 2009 Share Posted 5 July, 2009 Not when somebody is ruining an interesting thread John with the greatest of respect I responded to Pilchards thread as I hoped things would be in the future by ditching the things that have distressed me in our recent past. Thereafter, it was reduced to farce but sometimes you just feel like giving a little back.

In Internet slang, a troll is someone who posts controversial, inflammatory, irrelevant, or off-topic messages in an online community, such as an online discussion forum or chat room, with the primary intent of provoking other users into an emotional response or to generally disrupt normal on-topic discussion. gonzo Posted 5 July, 2009 Share Posted 5 July, 2009 If you ask me, starting a thread with the sole intention of attacking and insulting one poster is the most troll-like behaviour on here at the moment. I've reported the thread as I don't think there's any place for it. It says on the main forum to keep it on-topic and civil, and this thread is neither. Well he ticks most if not all those boxes. Even with him being on my ignore list I still cant escape him (as his ramblings often appear in quote form on responses) as he hi-jacks every thread, argues with just about anyone (oh sorry, has a different opinion to just about everyone) and is now in the business of including MLT in his ever growing list of targets who seem to be just about anyone except you know who !! I am sick to the back teeth of reading a thread which soon turns into farce and shoots completely off topic when he appears. And to be honest if you have him on ignore and see three or four posts in a row from him blanked out it looks quite funny, like he is having a little rant all to himself. chocco boxo Posted 5 July, 2009 Share Posted 5 July, 2009 Who cares what we disagree about on here? The main point is we are all Saints fans and when we are all actually watching The Saints play we are all together in one voice and are supporting the team as they are going to need it more than ever now. Football is all about opinions? I often wonder that if people that clash on here were sat in a pub not knowing each other but realising they were both Saints fans would have a good debate over a pint, however the same debate on here turns into "handbags and name calling". So to prove my theory 19C why do you not come and meet some of us for a drink?
saintbletch Posted 5 July, 2009 Share Posted 5 July, 2009 Judging by what Nineteen Canteen posts on here I don't think I could be more opposed to his views if I tried. BUT as a "student" of communication, I thoroughly enjoy the way he puts his arguments together. But I think that in a similar way to Guided Missile on here, the clever use of language frustrates posters. It's not the differing view as much as the feeling of being tied up in semantic string by Nineteen Canteen that appears to frustrate. Personally I think Nineteen Canteen should see this potential new era as a chance to put a lot of his posting history behind him, start to rise above it all and entertain us with his views on the future. Perhaps if he sees an anti-Lowe or pro-Crouch thread he should simply post "Disagree" and move on. If he doesn't I would have to conclude that he is indeed a bit of troll. So to help him out whatever you do, don't mention the "war".

kpturner Posted 5 July, 2009 Share Posted 5 July, 2009 If there is an internet forum equivalent of anti-social behaviour, then this thread (or starting one like it) is a good example. It is a bit like a school playgound with a group of bullies pushing around the kid with the speech impedent - only in this case I think the kid got a bit more between his ears that most of the bullies. This is just my opinion of course, just like I am of the opinion that (with the benefit of hindsight) the removal of Lowe by Wilde was not our clubs finest hour. Am I a troll too? Channon's Sideburns Posted 5 July, 2009 Share Posted 5 July, 2009 He's not that bad.... By that definition it makes almost everyone on here a troll at some point. If he pitched up on a few threads then you could use the argument that he is just a fan with a different opinion. But he pitches up on nearly every thread and argues the toss on each and every one. That is not just having a differing opinion, that is being argumentative and attention seeking. Most of them are probably misguided, Lowe was definately not a good chairman, but he is entitled to voice his opinion. What would be the point of this messageboard if we couldnt debate and throw in ideas? The best posters are those that take risk and generate debate. I guess that makes 19 Canteen one of the better posters... slightly mad... but welcome!

He'll think that, in life, you're rather unremarkable and thrive on being a cyberwarrior/internet personality. He'll think that you probably avoided sport at school and spent most of your gym classes in your underwear and now follow "footy" to ingratiate yourself on the sort of blokes who avoided you like the plague at school...
