Adam,

We understand that since your time with the U21's you may have heard lots of lovely stories about girlies with big gazumas who will be falling all over you once you get to the Premiership...hell the money is enticing enough.

However, you need to grow up and follow the lead of your club captain.

LOYALTY

Loyalty to the club that gave you an opportunity last season, which, let's face it, you didn't really grasp.

Your talent is unquestioned, but one average season is not going to even get you on the bench in the Prem. Ask Drew in six months how he's finding it (even tho I don't think he wanted to leave).

Loyalty to the fans that supported you - as one part of a disasterous season you OWE it to us to stick around and give 100% this season - after that, you can go with my blessing.

We have a new beginning - if you don't want to be part of it, fine.

In the meantime, keep it shut, get your head down and PLAY FOOTBALL.

This 'Billy Big Balls' routine is very tiresome - WE DESERVE BETTER.

Settle down... If he wants to leave let him go, if not then he'll always be an asset. Has there actually been anything official to say he wants out?

Apart from Wotte's quotes in the press about him not wanting to play in the last two pre-season games as his 'head is not right'...

Yeah too right...he needs a reality check.

Let him go, hes not the player he thinks he is. After the effort and result of last season who does he think he is. Adam you helped relegate SFC!!!!!.

Show some respect FFS and get down to the real business of righting last seasons wrong.

When young players have come through the Academy ranks it is just possible that after five years at one club they need a change of scenery. It is human nature to want to move on. Some don't. Some do. How many of us want to hang around uni after graduating?

The last thing we want is to be talked down to and told what to do. So your post CS, if read by Adam, could have the reverse effect you want.

I hope Adam wants to stay. With new owners and a new beginning Adam has so much potential to give, and League 1 with the new Saints may not be a bad place to regain top form. Then the future really would be bright. So my advice to Adam would be to stay until the January sales at least, then review. Playing first team footie here could be so much more beneficial than languishing in the reserves or being thrown into the first team in a top club when not quite ready for it (as many have).

So my advice would be to stay here till January and then review. It won't harm your career at all, and you can be better prepared for moving on (if you want to). (Of course by then we could be flying upwards ourselves and you would be a big part of it.)

Grow up. All the players bar a couple did badly under poor management decisions last year. This is a new dawn for all of us, players too.

Well being 'talked up' all last season did a lot of good didn't it?

He needs somebody, family or agent, to take him aside and have a quiet word - just what has he achieved so far to earn a big money move?

He ain't Theo.

Yeah, harsh but true.

Rubbish it is not the managers fault that Lallana could not score many goals last season he certainly had some chances

Maybe he saw that Pic of Bridge at Coles wedding in Hello last month - (no I dont read it, but it was in teh waiting room when my car was getting its service...) she was probably the type of 'lady' that you mean - well certainly on the gazuma front.

He needs to learn to shoot not scuff and stop running around like a headless chicken. He was told this at the beginning of last season.

Intelligent positioning which hurt the opposition, was far more important than turning five times around in possession and chasing randomly about when not.

According to Wotte he also said he didn't want to stay but join a Championship or Premier side.

I wonder if the multi billionaire takeover is going to make him sit up and recognise there could be a terrific future right here.

there are some proper patronising messages to Adam here...

OK I'll bite on that one...

No..not patronising....just pointing out some truths to him that somebody should - so do you think he's out of order with his thoughts then DD?

I think he is. His attitude is symptomatic of why we ended up being relegated - 'I'm alright Jack'....aged just 21 acting like a spoilt 12 year old. Needs to put his dummy back in and give it some graft.

Or ask Chris Baird, Martin Crainie, Matt Mills et al if the grass is always greener....Mills is the only one who has achieved anything since leaving - and he had to go down the leagues to do that after Man City.

Far from accelerating his career, moving to the Prem now could damage it.

Hey-ho, but Adam would be richer, as would his agent.

Which, today is what it's all about eh?

Agree with your sentiments here but differ in that if he's determined to leave then allow him to do so but at the right price, with a generous sell on clause. If someone can teach him the concept of "team" he could do well in future. Wotte seems to be calling it right.

It may be that Adam has become "big headed", it may be that his head has been turned by the bright lights of the bigger clubs (he is only a kid after all) but it just may be that the style of management that he got last season didn't suit him and he wasn't motivated effectively - is that completely his fault?

It doesn't matter what job you do in life, if you don't like your boss (or his style) and are not motivated then you will not perform at your best.

My mates saw Adam Lallana in a club a few months ago (Near the end of the season) and they asked what he was doing out on the night before a game and he said "Oh **** it, I won't be in this **** hole next season"

Crikey. Are you a reporter? That really is clipping the quote to suit your own needs. Actually Wotte was referring to his injury last year and said although he was in full training his head was not right in the sense that he did not feel ready for a full competitive game. He went on to say they respected his decision - if a player plays without confidence in the healing process that is when you are likely to suffer a nasty injury. Wotte did say he hoped Adam would feel more confident toward the end of the week and be available for the Bournemouth game.

Apart from the Talksport rumour, I don't think he has really shown any disrespect. He may well feel, like Surman, that his short term future is best served elsewhere but he has not shown any attitude. That myth has developed legs of its own here thanks to the usual kneed jerk reactions.

Of course if he is daft enough to read this web site, we will probably have made his mind up for him!

I'd like to see Lallana stay but if he wants out then so be it. I don't want any player at the club who doesn't want to be here. Would love to see Lallana show us a bit of loyalty, and I think he owes it to us in truth, but I can also understand his motives for wanting a transfer. We'll see what happens, but one thing is for sure, he won't go cheap now that we've been taken over.

The point that a lot of people need to understand is that, like Crainie, Mills and players of that ilk, their Agents will encourage disloyalty so they can sign a mega money contract with a top side then go out on loan at a lower level thereby earning far more than they're ever likely to with us. The Agent takes his cut, the player gains more experience and we mugs keep paying silly money to watch them live or on T.V.

And if there is any truth at all in the rumour that you didn't get on with Wotte, well, he's gone. Why not wait and see who replaces him? It ought to be somebody with great motivational skills, somebody with the ability to get the best out of players and you might reap the rewards of benefitting from it.
