We no longer have to worry about whether the club will cease to exist, thank God. But we have no manager and need to replace a few players. Until we know which manager it will be and which players, what else is there to discuss? Apart from how we fared against various minnows in pre-season matches, that is. dubai_phil Posted 11 July, 2009 Share Posted 11 July, 2009 This is so weird, so much to agree with Alpine about these days! It's been a hell of a ride, but now that it seems to have stopped then I think we all really need to step back and reflect and, for the first time in a while start to think with our brains not our d*cks before we type on here. Habits are damned hard to break, I know - I can't give up smoking or partying and I made a good career out of trying to drive "Change Management" - kept getting called back for more as it never seemed to work - lol This forum has evolved from it's predeccesors, over time it developed a life of it's own that scared other sane people away and hounded any attempts to create rational debate as posters spouted their bitterness at what was happening to their club and in some cases no doubt their lives. It is a new era. Someone suggested a new forum should be set up, that IMHO is not the way to go, perhaps a slight nudge now from the mods, less tolerance of stupidity, trolling or hounding of opinions, and then, with the "many" watchers gradually feeling more confident about stepping into our world and making valid points the evolution can continue. Personally I think it needs a nudge and it is interesting to see so many of the "senior citizens" on here are thinking that way. The forum should now grow as should our crowds, we will have ups and downs, the new guys will make mistakes - hell even Fergie makes mistakes! and we won't be playing Champions League football next season so let people LEARN from mistakes, that is what NORMAL, SANE people who AREN'T called Rupert Lowe do - we need to get used to it again! Opinions are what this is about. The monster raving looney party and the closet skates do not belong here anymore, the pitchforks need to be put back to rust for a while and we need to grow up a bit. I think he (Fry) had gone along the same road the rest of us had, but after the Pinnacle deal flopped there didn't seem to be a viable alternative. He couldn't go on forever and but for a suitable Plan B, he's had no choice, but to wind up the company. Thank goodness for our " White Knight " from Switzerland. OldNick Posted 11 July, 2009 Share Posted 11 July, 2009 Alpine true sentiments for me. I as much as I wont like it am of the mindset to take what the new owners wish for be it Hoddle or Adams. I will have my reservations but I wish for a united fanbase with smiles not frowns. We all can make our own little contribution by debating fears and worries but not the bloody mindedness of the past.

Why are we rehashing everything now? Surely through the actions/inactions of many we have attained Pol Pot's infamous year zero? So that we can all move onward and upward. The name calling doesn't help, it further polarises people and everything just degenerates from then on. So come on all you Saints, let's really prove that we deserve Markus Liebherr and team, and move onward and upward.

You have to be one of the dumbest ****s on this planet. Yes we are all delighted to be in this current position but this is akin to putting one of your kids forward in a Russian roulette competition. We are all delighted to where we are now but that is more from relief than anything else. What has actually happened at Saints is an equivalent to winning the lottery, something so monumental I can still hardly believe it has happened to us. What will happen to most other clubs would have been at best for the bits of SLH to get broken up and having to rent all the facilities and starting on -25 points with even more of the team moved on then present. That would then be followed by a second trip to administration with the possibility of losing the ground and our future completely. The only thing pathetic and embarrassing is your assumption that just because we have won the lottery, it was an calculated, planned and acceptable risk. How many Luton fans do you think are looking at us now and just wondering why they could not have had a slice of the luck that we have.
