They keep everything very quiet and close to their chest. Look at the way the take over occurred, the way AP was signed, and the way Harding was signed. Virtually the first thing anyone knew of these was when it was a done deal. . It got me thinking. No body really knew any of this was going to happen. Does that mean that the 'In The Know'ers are becoming a bit thin on the ground, now? Are we back to the days when the first we knew about something was when it was officially announced? Are we at a stage people when we can say, with alacrity and sense of purpose, that anyone who comes on here and says, ' I can't reveal my sauces(sic) but so and so is going to do such and such, but don't blame me, i'm just the messenger.' we can all raise the roof by shouting 'Up your anus, you are full of crap, we know you are lying and your underware is ablaze'. Discuss, in an open an honest and honest manner, using cogent, well thought out argument, please. I say this because a friend of mine, who works down the chippie, knows a bird who goes out with a certain someone who i can't mention, who tells me that Marcus Liebherr likes a lively debate on message forums, and is willing to invest time in forming cogent and well thought out arguments. If I were AO I would be explaining this to all staff in no uncertain terms. It's a new era and a new chance to succeed for everyone, as long as they act professionally and toe the line. I dont have any problem with anything AP has done or said and think he is 100% correct to play his cards close to his chest .............. Everything will be OK just be patiant. AussieDog Posted 1 August, 2009 Share Posted 1 August, 2009 Although I'm disappointed we haven't had more signings, I do appreciate that this is a building process, and I would rather a few initial disappointments if it means that AP gets the RIGHT players in, rather than panic signings which end up bloating the squad and the payroll. I don't want players who are marginally better than what we have already got, I want players in who raise the bar significantly (and who can hopefully help us get the best out of the good younger players that are still left). I still believe that our current squad is better than at least 50% of the rest of the league. Only time will tell....but I am really looking forward to hearing (or watching if it is shown down here, but that's highly unlikely) the Millwall game. Confidence and a positive attitude can really make a difference. With a 25,000 crowd for the first game (well that's my prediction anyway) we can really get off to a flyer (stuff the Sky curse! - hopefully that left with he who shall not be named...) If we come out of August still on -10 points then I think a lot of people on here will have alot to say about the here and now and won;t care less about 5 year plan. This seems a rather strange comment to make. FF actually does have, through his work as club historian, access to many of the characters who are closely connected with the club. If you think about this it would probably include players, back room staff, board members and prominent local businessmen who may have attended games through sponsorship or business networking. It doesn't take much to realise that confidences do get passed from time to time. Sometimes intentionally and sometimes in error. It up to us whether we believe this or not but Duncan is, in my honest opinion, a down to earth guy and far removed from being 'elitist' as indicated in your comment. The new buyers none too impressed with those that lent their name to Pinnacle. (More than one source for the above). Hope that satisfies you Le God. And the relevance Billy? Well I guess we might still have Andrew Surman on the books had Pinnacle not messed us around and I am pretty sure had AP been in the job 4 weeks longer we would all be feeling a little more optimistic for next week. Sure, Pinnacle is in the past but the repercussions of their ill-fated interest will remain with us for a while longer plus a lot of us were taken in by what at the end of the day was a load of old bull.
