FAO: Those who want to stand & sing at Wembley

When the ticket details are released can we try & get all those who want to stand & sing at Wembley together? If we designate a few blocks, behind the goal in the lowest tier maybe then the hopefully the Northam & Itchen/Kingsland North can all be together so we can create an atmosphere. With all due respect to any Chapel goers the last thing I want at Wembley is to be a) sat down & b) sat next to people who aren't going to sing.

We must get the noisy lot all together, Cardiff was a muddle after a great atmosphere at Villa Park in the 2003 semi final.

I want us to take as many fans to Wembley as possible, but at the same time it would be a nightmare to get in the ground buzzing to find myself in front of a one game a season family who spend the whole first half asking us to sit down, don't sing etc etc.

Er, if the Northam lot all get together then the stewards at Wembley will find it extremely difficult to get us to all sit down.

Spot on, as a few others have said, I don't want to have to deal with "will you sit down!?" the whole game. Plus the stewards at Wembley are walk-overs so it shouldn't be too difficult to maintain.

i go to the Chapel and ALWAYS stand and sing at away games........offence taken....:mad:

Tbh though, i don't wanna be surrounded by burberry/hackett wearing Yoof/old skool Hoolies who should be old enough to know better, more intent on goading Carlisle fans than singing and supporting Saints....so could we stipulate an area for THEM to go to then please ( preferrably the car park, perhaps)

FYI. I have been supporting sfc since 69 aged 7 and here you are preaching

about how to support your club..

I have zero problem with anyone standing unless some of the smaller

supporters cannot see,you obviously could not give a toss about anyone else.

 

Oh and for the record i am over 6ft so the not being able to see

would not effect me...

Everybody supports in their own way mate, you just have to accept it. Not everybody wants to stand all game and sing, doesn't mean they don't care about the team.

 

Personally, I don't like sitting, I like to get involved in the game and the atmosphere and have since I was a kid, which is why you will find me in the Northam. Doesn't mean I'm a better fan than somebody who sits and enjoys the game in a less, er, noisy way.

 

Anyways, great idea about getting everybody together, I will get my tickets as soon as they go on sale and will aim for this unnoficial 'standing' area.

The last thing i want is to finally see saints at wembley and have no atmosphere.

Read the thread you mug... he is suggested a designated singing area... so if someone short, children, less mobile people go in that area then they are stupid, because there will be plenty of other areas about.

I think it's a brilliant idea. Nipper can't wait to get to Wembley, and I would hate it if we had to be the moaning minnies asking people to sit down. That's why I'm grateful for the family enclosure - it means kids can be accommodated without impinging on the enjoyment of others. Time was, he'd have been able to nip down to the front or stand on a box, but that's no longer possible. So if he's going to see, the folks around him HAVE to sit down.

This thread makes me laugh, the idea is clearly for the benefit not just for those who want to stand, but also for those who don't who can then try to avoid those blocks.

 

and for the "i can sing while sitting" posters, last night I don't think there was any noise generated from anywhere in the ground south of the 18 yards line towards the Northam end. Hopefully that will improve on saturday.

my problem-

 

Dodgy knee, standing/idling for long periods of time is agony.

Going with my dad- Dodgy hip/knee, cant stand for long periods of time....full stop.

 

So to spend x amount on what should be a great day out to have it ruined by a bunch of knuckle draggers who stand up all game 'cos im a real fan who sings n stuff' would seriously p*ss me off.

 

If there is a designated 'singing uber fan' stand, it may be a good idea, and i would definatly steer clear.

Definately a good idea, would be a nightmare getting to wembley just to be asked to sit down in a sh!t atmosphere all game. Just email David Luker about it, think if a lot of people suggested it, it would get the ball rolling...
