a lot of heat towards someone who it comes across is only disliked for being a bigger boy. Fair play to him I say. He's enjoying his fame and making the most of it. Not exactly his fault. I'd hedge a bet not many people on here have had a smash hit comedy commissioned by the BBC. He's not my cup of tea personally but I'm not going to sit here and hate him because he happens to be overweight.

I don't hate him because he's overweight. I hate him because he's NOT FUNNY. But THINKS HE IS. And is the biggest arseliccker since Jonathan Woss. Apart from that, he's fine.

I think Adrian has hit a whole bag of nails on the head. Being fat isn't the main reason I hate Corden, although it is a nice added bonus. As has already been stated, he is an unfunny mong who appears to be on every TV show, awards ceremony and even the UK charts. Luckily I'm not in the UK so I wont have to make the decision whether or not to watch the show.

Is it rude to quote yourself?

Agree, his post World Cup show is awful, he just talks endlessly like a nervous housewife on speed. The jokes tend to miss their mark, but at least having Ms Crouch gives him a witless comedy foil.

I don't care what weight he is. He simply isn't funny. Also, is is just me, or is Gavin & Stacey overrated. Sure it's funny in parts, but it's hardly laugh a minute, it's overacted, and doesn't have the clever situations or cringe factor of say the Office of Peep Show. Obviously it's better than 90% of the dross they call comedy (anyone see BBC 3's Scallywagga?), but is being vaguely palatable really enough to be given your own show. Let's face it, he's in his thirties, and seems to still be stuck with the 'Nuts/Zoo/Loaded' humour of a misogynist 17 year old. Again, I don't care what weight he is.

Did anyone see this? I watched most of it just to hear what Le Tiss had to say, however apart from a little introduction at the beginning Le Tiss didn't get a look in. It was unbelievable, he just sat in the corner of the studio looking a little sheepish. What was the point in inviting him on if you're not going to talk to him?

First Hoddle, and now Corden have overlooked Le Tiss' talents. That grates.

Doesn't the programme continue on a different channel after 10? Maybe he was on more later.

yes he was on a lot more later, including showing his hat trick in the International match. He was introduced as one of the greatest skillful English players of all time. Also the Xavi article about how he thought MLT was the best. Having the gorgeous Shakira on also made me happy to watch the show. Mrs Crouch is a nothing and adds nothing to the show.As for JC, i find him as just a good lad who is engaging, not hilarious but far more talented than Lenny Henry

I love the episode info at the side of the ITV player

Football legend Matt Le Tissier and Peter Jones join James Corden as he presents an alternative look at the World Cup with Abbey Clancy, celebrity guests and a studio full of fans.

Nice to see him get national praise for his talents that he never received from the England managers in his playing days.

I was certainly a bit of fun. Reminded me slightly of Fantasy Football League, with Baddiel & Skinner. They used to sing his praises every other week, and IIRC, spearheaded the campaign to get Matt into the England side.

he is about as funny as a chinese burn. Just the average fat bloke in the pub who is loud and people describe as having a great sense of humour because that is the only thing mildly positive about them. I enjoyed Gavin and Stacey, so hats off to him for that, but his world cup show is gash and even Jamie Redknapp is funnier than him on A league of their own.

Didnt they do a skit of hoddle dreaming in bed, and matty walking through his bedroom door?

Or is the memory playing tricks again?

I have read the thread with interest as I have never thought Corden funny but thought I must be missing something
it could be that a lot on here have no humour. Considering Harry Hill is supposedly a comedy genius, then perhaps Im missing something there
