I am going. Sitting in the Saints End. My Dad is a Town fan (Hudders' being my second team) and he is sitting in the home end. Saints are his 2nd team and he will be supporting Saints against Bournemouth at St. Mary's this Saturday. I made him sit in the Town end at St. Mary's when we thrashed them 5-0 last season. He wasn't too happy then I can tell you! Some really nice boozers with good ales etc

This fixture is jinxed for me. My best mate is a Town fan and in the 30 odd years I've known him we've hardly ever played them. As soon as we were relegated it was a fixture we talked about, but last season my sister in law got married and this season I've got to work. Still I suppose it means continued stick for him, the only 2 fixtures we have been to together was a Matt inspired hammering in the League Cup at The Dell, and last seasons 5-0.He's gutted two of the worst defeats he's seen his side suffer (and he's in his 50's) and he's had to endure me taking the **** all the way home, and for weeks afterwards..........

Was going with my bro. He cant do it now so we are now doing Notts County instead.

So if you are going to Huddersfield enjoy the day............... if going to Notts County....... I can tell you wont as I will be going and I'm cursed.

Hopefully it will be outdone by Nexstar who has yet to see us lose away in 2010.

Just checked out the train prices for me and my lad from Wigan. £57.60!!!! Even if I reversed all the way there in my car I wouldn't use that much fuel! Looks like I'll be driving as usual.

I've just checked on the web site 'the trainline' and its £27.60 from Wigan to Huddersfield return for 1 adult and 1 child, £15.65 if you get a Family and Friends railcard.

Cheers for that but my 'lad' is an adult. How times have changed. When I first started taking him to away games I was always worried that he couldn't see.......now he asks me :(

2 adults = £36.80, still certainly cheaper to drive as that equals about 7 gallons of fuel.

Is there anyone going from the North-east? I am really keen to get to this match, but I cannot drive at the moment, for health reasons. Like the poster above, I have been trying to get to this match ever since we got relegated, as a friend follows Huddersfield, but each year something seems to crop up to stop me!

I am still looking for a lift if there is anyone going! Thanks! :)

Yes a few of us going. Went to the Gas Club last time which had some rock band performing and we were made very welcome.

Would recommend earplugs .... feck me was the music loud or what.

Also .... you don't go in there for the beer either ... no ales but ok if you're a lager lout i guess.... you go there coz its the nearest place to the ground!!

OB had told a couple of pubs near the station not to let away fans in after the game. The only one open to us was The .... ? .... feck memorybank brain fart .... something to do with Jimi Hendrix rings a bell god knows why!!... but it was a pretty run of the mill pub with a few real ales
