Badger Posted 6 October, 2010 Share Posted 6 October, 2010 (edited) COYS. If we play like we did against Bompey then I reckon we'll win this 3-0 Sorry about title being built up rather than build up. doddisalegend Posted 6 October, 2010 Share Posted 6 October, 2010 (edited) Not sure now after saturday I was confident but we now only have one striker avaliable (lambert) who hasn't been playing great. Who knows what effect the whole Barnard saga has had on the team (especially if some of them were there on saturday as is rumoured). Plus Tranmere have had a litle boost coming off a draw with the leguae leaders thanks to a good second half on saturday. Might have the same effect on Barney! Not sure sports science recommends an early hours druken brawl as a way to improve a players game. I think Barney has been ruled out of this weekend game anyway. Lallana's Left Peg Posted 6 October, 2010 Share Posted 6 October, 2010 Tranmere are struggling to find four fit defenders. 4-5-1 (if Lambert is our only fit striker) doesn't have to be a defensive formation. If the mentality of the midfield is correct then we could do very well, moreso if we continue to keep the ball in our matches.
saint_bert Posted 6 October, 2010 Share Posted 6 October, 2010 If we play Lallana off Lambert, with Oxlaid-Chamberline and Puncheon wide I think we can cause them alot of problems. Interchanging between the three players behind RL will leave their defence in two minds who to pick up. Hopefully this makes space for AL and RL to really exploit and do the damage we know they can do. 4-1 Saints. COYR

dubai_phil Posted 6 October, 2010 Share Posted 6 October, 2010 Tranmere is quite a built up area. Mind you their chairwoman looks quite foxy. Jeez Eric, just because she's a blonde and possibly breathing.... And of course it looks built up compared to Burj EoA Looking forward to a non crashing TSW for Saturday, don't expect NA to try and change the line up or shape too much even if Barney "injured" Saturday saw Lambo playing a bit deeper than Barney so would expect Lambo pushed onto the CB's with Chaplow or Guly "in the advanced hole" Too early in his regime to try and teach L1 level players more than one shape/style/formation for 90 mins

West End Saint Posted 7 October, 2010 Share Posted 7 October, 2010 Having got our home form started very important to build on the Yawnmouth result if we can play & keep the ball like we did Saturday we should win. It would be nice to see us create & score some goals from open play having Lallana back in the team makes so much dfference hopefuly Lambo has had the confidence boost of a couple of goals. Coys lets win this and start climbing the league this time last season we went on a run and won 4 back to back if I remember rightly no reason why we can't do so again. Saint Fan CaM Posted 7 October, 2010 Share Posted 7 October, 2010 I would expect a 4-5-1 with Guly in the hole behind Lambo and Chaplow in for Spiderman. There's still good options off the bench...Martin, Jaidi, Dickson, Oxo, Holmes, Pulis(LOL!). Could be interesting to see how NA sorts the side. I can't get to the game so we'll probably spank 'em 6-0. ):

Professor Posted 7 October, 2010 Share Posted 7 October, 2010 Agree with people saying we have attacking options and from that we must be expected to make some chances. The problem has been actually putting the ball in the goal, and there's no particular reason to think we will be any better at that this week than we have been recently, especially with three recognised strikers unavailable. The best hope is that NA knows the problem and will be working on it. He must have his side pencilled in by now, so lets hope they are having plenty of shooting and heading practice. niceandfriendly Posted 7 October, 2010 Share Posted 7 October, 2010 I'd rather have Lallana back and only 1 striker, than all 3 strikers fit and no Lallana. Absolutely. Lallana is without a doubt our most important player. With him in the team we can beat anyone in this league, without him, it's hit and miss. Nexstar Posted 7 October, 2010 Share Posted 7 October, 2010 Actually scrap what I've said - I think he is guilty, not sure why Adkins would have dealt with him internally if he was blameless, he'll plead guilty in December and be given a fine + community service. He can be booed on Saturday, he would deserve it. After that Lee and the media can focus on the football once again.

Unfortunately for your analysis, imagination does not carry any weight in the eyes of the law, whereas facts proven beyond reasonable doubt do. IMO we should all keep our peace and leave the gossip alone. We know nothing for sure at this time.
