NickG Posted 1 December, 2010 Share Posted 1 December, 2010 Adkins included him in the first team squad on Saturday. I have seen him listed as defender or midfielder. He made his debut as a 15 year old for the U18 team in february and turned 16 month ago. This is what the OS said a year ago when he was invited to train with the first team during his school half term: "James Ward-Prowse is what I would consider a role model to some of our younger kids in the way that he applies himself with his attitude to training and in games. For me he is a real captain, and certainly has bags of ability and bags of potential as a midfield player. He's also been with us for a long time, again since he was an Under 9." Anyone seen him play?
Matthew Le God Posted 1 December, 2010 Share Posted 1 December, 2010 Yes, I have. He looks very promising as a central midfielder.
Matthew Le God Posted 1 December, 2010 Share Posted 1 December, 2010 Adkins included him in the first team squad on Saturday. How do you know this? Was he in the dugout on Saturday, as he wasn't in the matchday 18 players?
SuperSAINT Posted 1 December, 2010 Share Posted 1 December, 2010 How do you know this? Was he in the dugout on Saturday, as he wasn't in the matchday 18 players? NickG is right - It was mentioned in an article. Must've been on the OS at some point

The9 Posted 1 December, 2010 Share Posted 1 December, 2010 He was warming up before the match with various other younger squad players. Looked half-decent in the one match I've seen him play, but Thurrock weren't the most testing opponents.

supersonic Posted 1 December, 2010 Share Posted 1 December, 2010 I've seen him play several times for the under 18s and yes he was on the bench on saturday, and went to train with doble and reeves etc at half time. I've only ever seen him play centre-midfield for the under 18s and he looks extremely promising and talented. His ability to pass the ball at his age is exceptional. Against Thurrock he was hitting 30/40 yard passes at ease without looking. He has a good engine on him and can win the ball back as well as use it. Also, for someone playing 2 years above his age-group, he held his own in the strength department. wouldn't be at all suprised if he makes a first team appearence before the end of the season. Also, on the subject of talented youngster, Jake Sinclair turned 16 earlier this week so can also play for the first team now

CWD Posted 2 December, 2010 Share Posted 2 December, 2010 My old man works with his old man occasionally. Liverpool, Arsenal and Tottenham were very interested in him but JWP wants to stay here and play for the first team

Looked half-decent in the one match I've seen him play, but Thurrock weren't the most testing opponents. And according to the squad listing on the Sky red button service (Sky Sports 1, HD 1 etc) he's been given the number 25 shirt.

If he looked good against Thurrock then, trust me on this, he will play for England and easily cut it in the Prem. It's known as the MORGAN Conjecture. shane d Posted 17 December, 2010 Share Posted 17 December, 2010 Ive seen him play loads of times - he's rubbish! Next! Bet you have not even see Saints play. IDIOT. Seen him play a few times. Very good future ahead of him. Bit young and raw for the team at the moment, but he would of enjoyed the experience of being with the first team. It's known as the MORGAN Conjecture. No its the Inverse Morgan Conundrum. He does play for France, did score against Columbia, but would be crap against Thurrock.
