Oh, my picture's been replaced...... by a train

so in the boardroom we have the choice of a picture of Saints finest moment

Its not a picture of our finest moment, its of the manager of the time holding the cup, more personal to him than the club, the team holding up the cup would be entirely different had that been replaced.

The picture has been given, given not sold or anything more sinister, so for me this is no great shakes and certainly no great suprise just part of an on going joust of ego's so who gives a fu ck, oh yeah, those who look for any stick to beat the club with and fuel division.

Hmmm

Comparing " the only mention of the club’s most successful ever manager in St Mary’s" with the colour of the wallpaper... good analogy ;)

but who cares what the board room has for decor...

this is all getting boring..im all for lowe/wilde bashing but ffs

people moan when they do the talking and yet...even the slightest thing gets people talking about them

i cant wait till we debate the choice of sarnie...whether it was the same sarnie as 32 years ago

It is another example of boardroom politics at its finest. God sake wake up. And you know what? EVEN if it wasnt, even if the board prefered a picture of a Doncaster Rovers train to inspire them to success - or to remind them of their new found friends who they will be dining with in League 1 next year... it matters not one iota. Why? Because the press are running it to make a political point and that's what matters.

There are 2 predictions that I made back in the summer that have yet to be fulfilled but are due about now to come to fruition. So far so good (or bad unfortunately).

The final 2 pieces of the negativity that comes with Lowe (and keeps fans away) are:

1. He's a media disaster and he will have Saints looking like a joke in both the local AND national media.

2. There will be a fan backlash against him, possibly as bad as the Branfoot days. The latter is why I will not be going to SMS until he leaves.

Finally, as I have only one post...

Leeds Utd announced a profit of £4m AFTER administration. Their shareholders like Lowe and Wilde lost all their money as a result of administration and are punished and gone. Leeds will rise again now. I would love to see a takeover, but after watching the Leeds example it occurs to me that Lowe and Wilde are purely looking after their personal shareholdings - which is why Surman, LLalana, Schnerderlain et al WILL be sold.

Ultimately - it strikes me that unless there is a takeover we shall continue to slide down the table. Ultimately Wilde and Lowe dont give a **** about it above the value of their shares. Branfoot style tactics will reemerge I fear... I am not going to SMS to watch it.

Of course this matters because it speaks volumes about the sort of people running the club. Winning the FA Cup is Saints greatest moment - bar none. I was there when we came second in the top division but winning the Cup was the best we have got. To replace a picture symbolising that with the picture of a train (and I like steam trains) - well you could not make it up!

Im glad they have given it back to LM and that it was not disrespected.

I have always wished that there was some suite etc named after him but it is all internal politics and it is obvious RL and Lm dont get on.We have to accept it is the biardroom and I doubt if any of us would ever have know it was there or had the opportunity to see it anyway.

Agree. Like him or hate him, our most successful manager should be honoured.

It really is a sad indictment of the childishness & politics around the people who are supposed to be running the club in a professional manner. if they had removed it to another part of the stadium, maybe one of the hospitality suite's or a corridor or main entrance it wouldn't be a story. What next remove from the stadium all picture's of that glorious day as they are all tainted by association with LM.

The board room of a club should represent the heart & soul (most importantly its fine History) not a picture of a F**king train.

I'm not that bothered but it was not the cleverest thing to do considering how many people love finding fault with anything related to Lowe.

On a slightly related topic, why doesn't LMcM ever comment on Jan and the young team in his Echo column?

In the grand scheme of things, you would have to argue that changing pictures in the Boardroom is pretty irrelevant.

But when it comes down to the context and situation with which this Club finds itself in, with all these egos fighting each other, it takes on an altogether different perspective.

In this case, it is just another sympton of the pettiness, maliase and in fighting (by all parties) which is plaguing the Club at the present time.

I wonder what pictures they have on the wall of the Birmingham board room...

A photo of their League Cup win in the 60's??? Their play off winning team from a few years back??? Picture of Gil Merrick (England international & I think their manager)??? Or maybe Trevor Francis???

Who do I associate with Birmingham??? Jasper Carrot, Noel Blake, Bob Latchford, Karen Brady, so maybe a combination of those!!!!

Ah - I was thinking of the porn money that is subsidising them... Sorry about that.
