We're B+ players according to Mark Bright.

Look, we played every team in the league (like everyone else) and we are 4th.

I don't understand the slagging us for our 4 straight losses in late Nov/early Dec (or maybe I do, it's just being lazy). If our 6 losses had been spread out, I don't think there would be the criticism.

This forum cracks me up.

Anything good written in the media and you lot hang off every word, anything not as positive as you would like and it's been written by a crackpot mong that's never watched a game of football.

Really, who cares?

The press are infatuated with Man Utd and Liverpool, and then Chelsea/Arsenal/Man City and then to a lesser extent Spurs/Everton even West Ham. So what do people really expect? Either, when we do well, a patronising "they're punching above their weight" "it'l never last" etc or if we are mid-table we are in our natural position, or if we were threatening with relegation it would have been "told you so. you can't sell your players and expect to survive".

The table at the end of the season is all that's important. Listening to talkSport just now, Alan Brazil is saying top 3 is set as it is now, and that 4th is between us, Arsenal, Spurs and Liverpool and that we aren't likely to be there. He may be right, he may be wrong, but let's just wait and see how the final positions are. I go to every home game and know more about Saints than most of these pundits who probably only see highlights if that. I don't care what they have to say, as all I am interested in is going to the games and watching the team. What they say has no bearing on how the side performs, and one word from Koeman is worth more than all these pundits put together.

B+, A+, C-, D-. So ****ing what? Does this arbitrary marking of players have any relevance to my enjoyment (or not) of following the team, to the players future performances, to the table, to our finishing position? Of course not. I am not sure who he has done this for, as I really can't be bother to listen to someone else's opinion on this first half of the season when I am more than capable of making up my own mind (subjectively), but there are far too many websites that need to fill their pages so fill it with rubbish. It's like TV these days. There are hundreds of channels needing to fill the slots - so they have to resort to showing complete rubbish (or repeats).

As I say, who cares?

As the other post, who cares? It is just an opinion and we all have one of those. We know we don't have the strong benches of the Citys and Chelseas and we are not a "big" club so why not just enjoy it while it last...and long may it last!

Errr we lost to all the teams above us he says!

Surely we were 2nd before we played man c and so only Chelsea were above us and we have not lost to them yet this season as far as I am aware.

There you go again with your facts!

I couldn't listen to more than a few seconds of him, drivelling idiot

Let's judge it only on who the so-called pundit is as to whether it is given much credence. It is only Mark not very Bright.

He fudges around believing that we had the best defence earlier in the season and doesn't realise that we currently have the best defence in the PL. So he goes on to list the key defensive players and omits Alderweireld, who is miles better than Lovren who he mentions as one of the key players we lost in the Summer. He obviously based his assessment factoring in the dip in form that produced the five losses, mentions that we have lost when we have played the top teams and largely ignores the recent upturn when we drew with the league leaders and beat Arsenal.

I don't know what his assessment is of the other teams, but logically any team below us currently must be marked B+ or lower. He says that if his old team Crystal Palace were in our position, he would give them A+, thereby ruining any notion of impartiality by admitting bias.

Of course they are B+ players we could never afford A+ ones

We will probably finish in a B+ position better than last season

Naturally they are not A+ players until they leave us to play for a glory team. Thus Schneiderlin, Clyne, Alderweireld, Wanyama, etc could become A+ players almost overnight by the simple expedient of a decent move elsewhere, to one of the three A+ teams above us. (Well three at the moment. When we replace Man Utd, they will become a B+ team and we will progress to A+ level).

Demaria again a+ etc etc

And the are only 1 point ahead of us

Does this show a group of selected a+ players do not make an A+ team

What aload of tosh

But they;ve had a new manager and lots of new players and needed time to gel ;)
